  1. My mom used to look like that when she was pissed at me.......except her eyebrows were a little heavier.........
  2. I'm with you on that. Not much accuracy in the press. Article today, local paper left-wing rag, but "contributed to by New York Times and Bloomberg News" about Obama nomination for supreme court, and ZERO mention of his anti-gun anti-second-amendment ruling in the DC court case, but tons of BS about him being a "moderate". Slanted, biased, bullpoop article. Again, no place to get solid, truthful, documented information.
  3. For what it's worth, I'm with you on this one, Wash
  4. Jeez, Blue, you say that like it's a BAD thing.............
  5. Also not crazy about the new format. Much better to be able to go in and quickly see new content for the whole site, and to be able to go immediately to latest post. Not a good change IMHO.
  6. Glad you got the tune-up mrmackc. Cardiac medical folks are generally super. Ripped a big hog off for a valve a few years back, so have been through all that stuff. Amazing what these guys can do. Hog valve bopping along super, but feel a little guilty when I eat bacon..... Stay healthy, brother!
  7. Yeah, mine thought that too. Hell, they might yet be proven correct.....
  8. Perfect. Absolutely perfect! Loved the hell out of both of my parents, but their asses would be in jail for disciplining me if they did that today.... Oh, and I can remember getting my ass hacked by my junior high coach with a wooden paddle made in the school woodshop. Yeah, I deserved it. Never went back for seconds, either. Lesson learned. Dude would have lost his job and done jail time for that today. Didn't have a lot of discipline problems in my schools.... Born in '43
  9. Hell, I was always suspicious of the foot callouses and the huge calf muscles........... treadle, treadle, treadle.......... Bwahahahahahaha!
  10. I think that might also be my problem....makes me want to "mez around..."

I'm with Wash on this one. Feed problems? The round had to be in the chamber to fire and blow the gas down the barrel through the grossly over-sized gas port into that piece of crap gas block. Mag problem? 80% lower problem? What a load of BS! Like Wash said, who are these morons? I'm fairly certain nobody ever had a bad magazine cause a split gas block.
  13. Well, I'm no help - just got a liquor cabinet with whiskey and rum. But it's damn good to hear the gorilla stirring again in these parts!
  14. Does this mean we can have shenanigans with this IDF? Sorry, but it just seems like the next logical step.......
  15. To reinstall you're gonna need one heck of a good barrel vise block set, and I don't know what the torque specs are for the barrel extension. I'd also say call the barrel manufacturer for their advice. If it were me, I'd have them do it. I'm guessing, but the extension may not have been torqued sufficiently when installed. I can't imagine a 6" wrench on a brake having enough torque. Man, you gotta be Mr. Gorilla arms! Barrel extension wrenches (reaction rods) are terrific for barrel installation, but should never be used to unscrew a muzzle device.
  16. The parts I've used from Mega have been super. I haven't used a lot of them, as I've not built that many rifles yet. I can tell you for a fact from specific experience that their customer service is as good as it gets.
  17. Not me. I'm busy too, but I'm a huge fan of shenanigans. Bring 'em on!
  18. Had serious feed problems with the Ares Armor NIB BCG. If you have access to and alternative BCG, giving that a quick try might just quickly define the problem. Never found out what exactly was "out of spec", but a change of BCG got mine running perfectly.
  19. I'm betting he may be more of a target for the bad guys now, but you can be sure he is on everybody's "don't phuck with him!" list. Amazing young man! Exemplifies everything that is good about our military folks. Always impressed that in spite of the azzholes running the show, this country still produces these brave and skilled fighters - best in the world!
  20. http://thegca.org/ Also, this is a terrific source of information on the current situation relative to this amazing rifle.
  21. My son bought a couple of CMP M-1's a few years back, and yes, they are pretty rough. But they were inexpensive. He bought, as I remember, two different grades. I think it was about $750 or so for the two of them. Both function perfectly, although the barrels are worn enough that they are not the most accurate rifles around. Still, we each have one in our respective gun safes. Nostalgia pours out when I open the safe. I'm about the same age as those rifles. Depends what you want. You ain't gonna get National Match from a CMP rack grade rifle. I don't know what the situation is so far as replacement parts and expense is concerned. Also, check the web, as there are a fair number of organizations around dedicated to M-1 ownership. Nice ones are available, but not inexpensive.
  22. Note Wifey wasn't upset that he's dead, just pissed about the missing eyebrows. Short-sighted! Where the hell is this babe gonna find another fine flatulent stud like that? She'll be sorry. And how come no picture of wifey? OK, maybe after the eyebrows grow back.......
  23. You are correct, of course. I'm not sure if this falls under natural selection, improving the gene pool, or thinning the herd.......... But it's damn funny.
  24. OK, that one had my eyes practically bleeding! FUNNY!
  25. So I heard the money is determined by model number. Do you know if that is correct? Also, does anyone know what tests, if any, they run on the three guns submitted, or what the approval standards are, or why the hell it takes three guns?
