I gotta be truthful, I do eat some rabbit food salad every once in a while, after all I have been married to the same Christian woman for almost 54 years and raised 4 children with her. I eat her salad, providing I also get some baked potatoe fixed all the way, she makes it outta home grown tomatoes, onions and some whatever kind of greens we have with plenty of cured ham and boiled eggs. A lot of vinegar and a little olive oil, or homemade dressing helps , she tells me I need it every once in a while to keep my bowels regular. OKAY I may be just a wee bit female cat-whipped but don't let her know that. damned grammer police female cat I meant Pussey....whipped

The general public don't give a rat's arse about the noise damage to us shooters or our audiences we get shooting guns, they don't want Johnny Crimeboy shooting them and nobody hearing the BANG! They say "Stop shooting those damn noisey old high powered guns, and you will be okay."

I have the original spring in the pistol, don't really know the weight of the spring, just know it never failed to feed or cycle and fire before I used the Winchester ammo, I bought 200 rounds of it, the lot numbers showed the ammo to be manufactured in 2005. The new 22# spring came in a trade it is a Wolfe spring, I may as well get a new set of 16, 18, and 20# springs and see what will work, All of my hand loads are fairly mild. Thanks for the comebacks guys, I've been shooting 1911Colts a long time and never experienced any problems with 230 Grain Ball or the semi-wad cutter rounds I swadged and sized when I was shooting my old NM Gold Cup, that is long gone in a trade. I picked this Govt model up used for a daily carry 20 years ago it has never been ramped for wadcutters, so I doubt it has shot anything before except factory ball ammo , just put on the Green Crimson laser grips, and was sighting it in.

Anyone been having problems with stovepipeing in a Colt .45ACP 70 series Govt. model ? I bought some Winchester .45 ACP at a LGS and at the indoor range I got several stovepipes, lots of smoke and black soot. I tore the slide down and checked the extractor, it was okay. Now before I go take a coil offen the recoil spring , do you think it could have been the AMMO? I usually have been using Federal or Remington without problems but don't have any more except that Winchester stuff. I do have another recoil spring probably a 22#.

Oh hell, just salt and pepper the cow meat, throw it on the hot grill, drink a cold brewski, flip the meat to the other side, drink another brewski and pull it off and eat the damn thing, to hell with all the theatricals, SHIDT!!! It will all depend on how fast you gulp the brewski, don't you know. I reckon I've been in Texas too long to sweat the small Shidt.....

I think that these were originally made to go a survey transit scope maybe like in a underground mine? Looks like it would be the cat's meow for extra long range bullet lobbing. get out the calculator.

Yeah, I was just hoorahing you about the old dogface guy with the ivory handle Colt Peacemaker, My uncle was with Patton from the desert thru Germany, at one time he drove Patton. We owe them old dudes a lot of respect and thank yous. I arrived there in August during one heck of a rainstorm, never rained a day there after that that I knew of. I kind of liked my duty there, I was a 3516 in a 105 Towed battery and after training for a spell I became a Tracked Vehicle Repairman, Self Propelled. 2144 if I remember correctly, that was 55 years ago. Had a girl friend a former high school classmate that was living in Palm Springs, spent Liberty time there. She had a 63 Corvair and we made Las Vegas a couple of times, good memories.....

Who is Patton, the leather guy? Waddn't no Marine that I knew of named Patton. I think the Armt guy from WWII may have been somewhere else except 29 Palms, I was there in 63 - 64 here is one of my souvenirs. ,

The only way you will know how much weight is lost from milling is to weigh it now and then after milling, it is hard to calculate weight without knowing some critical dimensions and the mass density of the steel. So, just mill away!
