SIG in Serious Damage Control Mode
Cunuckgaucho replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Probably one of the best know examples of this was the Ford Pinto. Of course with no internet it took a while for non industry types and the media to see a pattern. Once Ford saw the problem there was a look at cost to fix vs coast to deal with court cases/payouts... guess which one they chose? The other thing driving their decision was Ford promised to deliver a car that was under 2000lbs and inder $2000. Sig Sauer( Swiss company,German company and US company) are all seperate entities owned by the same holding company. While they do work closely together for legal, tax and other reasons they are on paper three seperate companies. People are placed by L&O Holdings for the sole purpose of making money for the partners and share holders. The brand only has value to the holding company based on sales. If the Sig Sauer brand fails the holding company will buy another name, use that and simply transfer all the plants, tooling etc to the new name. Back in 2019 executives where given suspended sentances and the company paid huge fines( not the executives) for illegally selling pistols to the Columbian government. Basically the pistols were produced by the German group which couldn't get and end user certificate for the sale to Columbia. So the pistols were sent to the US group that then forward them to Columbia. They only got caught 'cause someone blew the whiste on them. Holding companies like this are the corparate equivelent of clearcutting a forest with no concern to replanting. Which is why they will never admit fault on their part. For them it's better to let it burn to the ground and have another part of the holding company buy the assests for pennies on the dollar. -
Or the other one where your working on something out in the plant, say 3 phase 600v. Then some office person come out to complain that the microwave in the lunchroom isn't working so it must be something you did

If I ever end up on death row my final meal request with be roasted road runner washed down with a road runner cocktail. Cause one way or another I'm not leaving this mortal world and moving on till I see a road runner. Road Runner Cocktail ingredients Units: US 1ounce vodka 1⁄2ounce coconut rum (I always use Bacardi) 1⁄2ounce Amaretto directions Shake the vodka, coconut rum and amaretto vigorously over ice cubes until well frosted. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. (I used a martini glass).

I know that back in 2002 Rob Furlong made his at 2657yds shot which I found mind blowing. At the time I considered 1000yds long range so a shot more than twice that was hard to wrap my head around. It stood for about 7 years. It makes you wonder what someone like Carlos Hathcock could do shooting today's rifle, ammo and ballistic apps?

I knew you guys would have me covered 😘 If I go with a tactical kilt then no underwear to worry about 🙈 One big reason for taking the new job was the paid holiday time off. After a year in things get crazy, a good year can mean up to 10 weeks paid vacation! Depending on on call and call outs.Rule says I must use my 3 weeks each year as time off, everything else I can bank or paid time off or cash out. Starting in 2026 I'll be able to come down and stick around for a match(or show up early) both Spring and Fall shoot

What can I say but plead jealousy. Love to shoot one of those matches but you'll have to spot me a gas gun as there is nothing I can currently legally bring down. As to time off, 2025 not looking good with starting new job and the moving. Now 2026, well on Fed 3 at 1 year anniversary I get an instant 3 weeks paid holidays and will pick up another 3-4 weeks of paid holiday time as 2026 progress 🥳 This allows me to both enjoy Fall shoot and separate weekend at the match. If I can make it work with @Matt.Cross schedule well even better Thank you for appreciating my sensitive nature to the season you call summer and your willingness to provide first aid. I do have some reservations seeing as pants down hugs are your preferred greeting so a vivid imagination makes me wonder about your treatment of heat stroke 🫣 For the record I'm not sitting on my couch but comfortably lying on my new couch

Things are getting serious according to the weather people here. To my fellow members and friends in places like Arizona and New Mexico try not to laugh. The bold is mine Special Weather Statement in effect for: Metro Vancouver - North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver This is an Early Season Heat Event. What: A period of elevated temperatures is expected. When: Now through Monday. Where: South Coast and parts of Vancouver Island. Remarks: A ridge of high pressure is bringing high temperatures to the region. Daytime highs are expected to be in the high 20's to low 30's with overnight lows in the low to mid teens. High temperatures will persist into early next week. To translate high 20s to low 30s into fahrenheight thats between 80-90F Which is why I'll unlikely survive an Arizona summer -
Keep telling yourself that

Good for you brother, just when I thought you couldn't get any sexier. At this point I also see a blank canvas waiting for creakote

You know any of the Russian pilots would give both kidneys and their liver for the chance to fly the SR-71.

So looking forward for being able to attempt to copy some what's been cooked here at the new place. Now I have to look at a new BBQ( natural gas) hoping to get a combination grill/griddle..

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

I'm wondering here why a company that makes suppersors would object to them being removed from the NFA, what am I missing here?
