The pa-10 didn't like the SST 165 and 4895 combo. Not one bit. Back to the Varget. Shoulda known. Stopped at 41.5 because of a good sized pressure ring.
Just went through my minuscule brass stash and came up with 72 CBC cases. I'm gonna work up a batch see how she does. I'll updated in another 6 months
@mley1 I was in the same boat. Bought a bunch of Fusion back in the day and been using the fired cases all these years. As far as factory ammo goes, I had great results running it through my R25.
Here's the "separation":
That thin line is a crack.
Primers aren't awful. Makes me think the brass is overworked but, I'm far from a reloading expert and I take no offense from anyone who wants to "learn" me.
165 Sierra Gameking HPBT, 2.750 COAL, 43 gn Varget. Sierra load manual says 43 is max. Brass was on its 3rd reload. I had been FL sizing as well. The separation was very minute. Primers were flat but no flow.
Finally got time to test out a ladder load spredd today. The Faxon pencil 16 liked it a little milder but still got decent results (1.75 MOA) just before I started seeing pressure signs. Had 2 seperated cases at 43gn of Varget. Might try fresh brass at 43 to see what happens.
Just fine for a deer/hog gun. Longest shot is about 80yd usually.
Why is there always that one stinkin flyer? Maybe not enough cool down between shots? I was about 30-45 sec between.
Not sure what happened with the quote there..... but, I had the PSA bolt checked with the Faxon barrel by a professional gunsmith and it was.......... good to go. I have had no issues at all with the Faxon/PSA combo. 1.2ish MOA but I have yet to tweak my reloads. Actually I'm going test a batch tomorrow. We'll see.
