Matt.Cross

I've had one on order for some time now, can't wait to get it!

This sounds like a good question for 98Z5V, he's an EXPERT on gas block roll pins, and he would be the first to warn you that loose gas block pins can grow a whole rifle like a dead tree grows mushrooms... SO BE CAREFUL!

I do like the way rail covers make for a nice forearm... That's a big plus for rails.

I have seen left and right rails carrying flashlights and laser designators, but I don't see any use for the laser designator in the civilian arena to be honest.... The top and bottom rails are a little more immediately obvious though.

Welcome to the fray! Please find the nearest helpless person and proceed to infect them <laughs> <lmao> Hope you enjoy yourself here!

I don't have field data, but I do know that when you have a barrel ported, the bore needs to be relieved from just behind the ports to the end of the bore to keep the bullet from being destabilized by the intersection of the ports & the bore. With a threaded muzzle device, most are already relieved. My .02 on the topic, <thumbsup> <dontknow>

Glad to know it, I need to order a couple.

I'll take experience over opinion any day of the week. When it comes to getting a good optic without killing my bank account, it's good to know what will do the trick. I don't have any doubt that maybe high-end optics are better and hold their value, but so far I've never encountered a situation at the range where my life would depend on my optic. There are cheap optics and there are affordable optics, I prefer the latter.

I feel ya bro, getting ready to see about purchasing one here in NC. I'm down to getting the sheriff's opinion and deciding which one I want.

They won't like it either, having to determine what kind of chambering a weapon has in order to deem it incorrectly marked, will turn out to be a logistical nightmare. I wish them luck implementing it.

Welcome to the forums, I'm overjoyed to hear of your recent infection!

<thumbsup> Simple, effective, inexpensive, and best of all, redneckish!!! <laughs> <lmao> I love it!!! <dontknow> <thumbsup>

I haven't bought anything yet, I'm learning to take my time, deals will show up the instant you decide to give in and buy something at full price. I'm going to have at least 1 of 2 builds built before I start buying reloading equipment.

I have a JP adjustable and the DPMS LR308 standard beast, you can have the beast for shipping cost, I'd take $100 for the JP + shipping.

No, that's alright, I don't really need to know more than that. It's possible that someone swapped out an aftermakerket lower into their AR and simply sold or swapped that lower to the vendor. Then again, it may simply be that a few receivers intended for builds had to be subbed for a kit receiver shortage at DPMS. I can imagine quite a few scenarios that explain your anomaly.

Honestly, if I had to put up with that crap, I'd be VERY motivated to find a gun-friendly state. Maybe you love where you live and I understand that, but what they put you through to own a firearm is just frankly pathetic. How have we as american citizens let ourselves give up so much ground when it comes to our right to keep and bear arms?

Yes and yes.

I agree with you that it's probably unneeded, but in the event you had to swap barrels, you can push the barrel back out of the receiver with a press. Edited for spelling.

Not necessarily suprising, may I ask where you bought it from?

I'd like to start a thread of good guys here from the forum I've had positive experiences dealing with, hopefully this can be stickied for future use and reference. Bought from: Dan Haaf - DPMS Kit Lower - Everything went perfect. Keith (TANGO2072) - Magpul PRS for AR10 - Excellent in every respect, perfect sale, perfect buy, Keith is good people. Dave (branson1369) - MA-TEN Monolithic set - Dave is just awesome to do business with, there are just some people who make it easy for you to give them your business and dave is one of those people who will retain mine. Sold to: Stu (capt9859) - Complete DPMS Lower - Stu is a great buyer, good to go. Mike (M1P) - 24" BBL DPMS Complete Upper - Mike is quite simply the man, that's all there is to say. So there's a start, keep it going as you buy and sell.

Never heard it said better.

BWAHHAAHHAA! <lmao> You're terminal son, denial is the first stage, telling yourself you'll beat it is the last. ;D

I don't think wood is dead or even dying, my Dad just gave me a set of Blackie Collins rosewood 1911 grips that I will be installing rather than the Pachmeyer tactical grips that are on it. I love wood, especially walnut, nothing looks better on a dress gun than wood.

Speak for yourself, I've been butthurt for the last 2 days because of his reply. <laughs> <lmao> ;) Totally just kidding, I thought KellyTTE's reply was good stuff.

That's a good principle, my little guy is only 2 so he's still a bit young to understand, but when he demonstrates good enough comprehension, I will begin his gun safety indoctrination. My dad taught me from as early as I can remember, and I want my kid to be able to say he doesn't remember ever NOT knowing how to safely handle weapons. I remember being just a tiny little fella looking wide-eyed into gun display cases in gun stores when I was little, and the clerks would always cajole my dad into letting me hold whatever I was looking at. I would always make a show of pointing it in a safe direction first, and only then check it out. Dad always got an approving look from the clerk, with an 'atta boy' wink for the little guy practicing gun safety. Anyways, you guys have got me thinking about what kind of supplies are practical to stock up on.
