  1. Cao makes a few decent smoke. They range from $ to $$$$
  2. cut a piece of wire hanger to add length.
  3. This is a bullshitting forum. We just used 308ar.com because it sounded catchy. No one follows the rules here or ever stays on topic.
  4. You want to look for "Dominican grown Cuban seed". Cuba has been damn near completely over harvested. Their soil isn't what it once was. The Dominicans weren't effected by the embargo, and some forward thinking entrepreneurs took advantage. They bought the Cuban tobacco seed and planted in their own soil. I have a Dominican hand rolling shop in my beat. I used to frequent their shop on my lunch breaks. A good cigar shop always has a tasting event..... don't forget your burboun/scotch.
  5. BARFCOM and most other "Experts" can kiss my pastey white derriere. We might ask "why?" But as along as it works for YOU, you won't be getting any of that shiit here. If you had a toilet paper roll duct taped to your barrel, and you were able to ding steel at 300 yards, so be it.
  6. Right!? (Farkle met our worthless mutt) He spends more time at the groomer than he does on duty. He's NEVER even been on an EOD call out, because he's still too much "puppy". I have much respect for K9's... the good ones. Some of my best "stories" include a furry torpedo launching from a patrol car at the end of a vehicle pursuit. Lol
  7. You had a gap of .005, and you removed .02 Sounds like gap should be gone. I don't know if I would've even noticed a 5-thou gap. Good eye! Personally, I would've looked into modifying the less expensive (and much less likely to kaboom) handguard. I hope your method worked.
  8. Welcome. Lots to read here while you heal up. Don't rush back in there too soon either... you don't owe anyone an early return. Take full advantage of your time to heal. You guys have it rough in the 209 (my inlaws are from Lodi). I recently got to hang out with some badass mals at SHOT2015. Some former SF guys, now contractors, brought their mutts for some show and tell. I still have a great video on my phone, taken in the Encore tower suites, of a Mal doing bites in the living room. He hit the president of the Special Forces Foundation first, and then the President of OSS Suppressors next. I guess these guy make their money selling bite/EOD dogs to the Army and Navy. My stupid dept retired it's shepherd (hip disp) and replaced it with an EOD black lab. It's worthless. No room for flea bags on my motor, so I could care less. Be safe. Get healed. From the 916
  9. But.... you'll finally have your 87.... and it'll be virgin, unmolested, by the hands of strangers.
  10. Cali, take the class in Woodland. I hear the class at Safetyville (off of Bradshaw) is decent, but I don't have any first hand knowledge.
  11. You're a .22 whore
  12. That guy is a beast
  13. I think even Blazen would benefit from a fixed 4x scope. Think of the fat .45 with a Trijicon ACOG on top!
  14. I'm going in a different direction as these guys... If you're only shooting long range, why do you need variable? If you're not getting variable, you save a lot of money by not buying FFP. A fixed 20x scope will do long range with ease, and save your pocket from burn marks. Get a canted LaRue one piece mount and you're still under your original budget. http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-20x42-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P502.aspx
  15. I have a random single stack 9mm magazine in my gear... I've never owned a 9mm.
  16. This is waaaaay more. Ike than a beginner needs
  17. I didn't think I had to put this, but all prices are based on a PayPal "gift" transaction. If anyone wants to do a standard transaction, they will have to compensate for the fees on their end. This is "take off" furniture from a Century Arms C39 v1 (dual tang, milled receiver). It was removed almost immediately after it was bought. The complete set is in like-new condition. $60 Shipped SOLD Sale includes: (as seen in the pics) • Stock w/ screws • Handguard top • Handguard bottom • Pistol grip (plastic) w/ screw No flaws or problems. Bought it because it looked so awesome, selling it because it's too small for my style of shooting. Ftf in/around Sac preferred. Otherwise, buyer pays actual shipping. Price may be negotiable depending on speed of sale. *pics taken with and without flash, to properly show color and condition. Mega Tactical Trigger w/ WMD NiB Hammer $75 Shipped This was tried out, but never really used. It is user adjustable and really nice once it is set. Does not come with trigger/hammer pins or sear disconnect. CMC Flat Tactical Trigger 3.5-4 lbs $130 shipped This was taken out of my .308AR. I should have a few hundred rounds through it. It has run flawlessly, but was recently replaced. I have several of these in other rifles. I have always sworn by this trigger group. Never a failure to pop, not even with mil-surp garbage ammo.
  18. Most every MSF uses 250cc bikes to train people. More often than not, it's a Honda Rebel. A great starter bike. You will outgrow that bike upon graduation of the class. A 500-600cc bike, 5-10 years old, can usually be bought for $1k to $2.5k... Get one. Ride the piss out of it. Learn what you want out of a bike and your gear. For a "forever bike", don't settle for anything less than 1200cc. For me, I prefer saddlebags (I hate having to wear a backpack). After the small bike gets old, you'll know if you want a windshield, full or half helmet, bags or no bags... there's a metric shit ton of options. Don't buy the 250
  19. I'd go with a straight tube, and no top rail... are you using sights? Are you using night vision or thermal imaging? There's really no reason for the forward top rail other than those three. A slim tube from Apex or Lancer and a few short rails to mount misc items as needed. Even if you did want to use a front sight, you could just as easily get a VLTOR or PRI flip-up tower sight gas block instead of a mounted BUIS.
  20. Guess what I just found while digging through boxes, looking for a stupid cable for one of the kid's toys.... still in the fuckin package! I never would've found it if I were looking for it.
  21. I looked up Detroit Gun Works... Their model was creatively named the "DGW308". Lol I also saw that it is made to be built with DPMS LR-308 compatible parts
  22. Calling all 308AR's an "AR-10" is like calling every sports car a "Corvette". While the terminology works around an unknowing crowd, calling a Mustang a Corvette while at a car club would be considered a faux pas. It's a common mistake made by those who are new to the rifle. No insult taken, nor meant to be exchanged. The main fact is that Armalite owns the name AR-10. Calling any other brand an AR-10, is technically incorrect.
  23. The HK G3. There are a few 308AR's that were built to use this magazine. It is designed for the .308 cartridge, but I think intended to regularly shoot heavier 175gr ammo (I believe U.S. Military rifles were originally loaded to shoot 150gr) . Thus the little extra length. There was a company about 5 years ago (Fidelis Arms) claiming they had a 12g prototype that used G3 mags to load 2-3/4" shells. The polymer PMAG has issues loading heavy loads. The polymer walls are a LOT thicker than the steel walls. Outside dimensions are identical, but internal dimensions are slightly larger in steel mags. PMAG's are stereotypically maxed at 175gr, and even not all 175's are created equal. I know little to nothing about reloading. If you plan on making a "heavy" load that'll chamber reliably, I think your bigger issues will be magazine related vs gas related. Gas and barrel can be easily figured out. I still think, if this is going to be attempted, you should go as heavy as possible. I know the .300WM can be loaded up to 250gr. I wouldn't waste my time with the 200-220 gr, as that really wouldn't be any different than a .300Blk (unless you were making a supersonic round)
  24. That's not really salsa. It's battery acid, live Brazilian fire ants, and ketchup.
  25. Return it and get 2 MechArmor triggers instead.
