  1. It also weighs 52 lbs and is long enough to double as the front bumper on a Peterbilt.... or I'm just not enough man to handle it.
  2. Welcome Blazin. Good to see some survivors are still in MD.
  3. Both were replaced. Brand new 10/22 and brand new 77/22... plus scopes and vouchers for two boxes of .22lr ammo (although, finding those boxes is akin to finding Bigfoot). It's like trading in two old rifles and getting $1,000 in new ones. I doubt there was $500 invested in the original gear. All the new gear is perfect.
  4. You can't. You can build one that shoots "as good" but I've never seen one that can "out shoot" a LaRue. The LaRue currently shoots sub-.5MOA... same with the GAP10... people are posting pics of .2-.3 groups shooting those rifles. Are you able to build a sub-.25 rifle? If so, why aren't you designing rifles as a profession? BubbaSKS has a tackdriving .308AR, all home built. Thousands less than the name brand off the shelf rifles, and shoots "as good" as any of them.
  5. COAL will be the issue. You'd get the best results if your rifle used G3 metal mags. Metal mags in general will grant you a fraction more length than the popular polymer models.
  6. This is a 950-1,000 fps .30 caliber rifle... what's the difference between it and the 300Blk? Besides cosmetics, isn't this just a subsonic .30cal and a subsonic .30cal? Since this is in a .308, why not load up some 240gr or 250gr, get a 1:8 or 1:9 twist barrel, and fling some extra heavy lead.
  7. I'm not saying I can out run it. I just don't want to die with a loaded gun.
  8. Wait a minute.... It's finished? And we don't have full pics? Shaaaaaaammmmmeeee
  9. You should be able to modify Uzi .45ACP mags to worK, or the old Greasegun mags. I was once looking at building a 10mm using a RMWXTREME upper... Then I changed my mind to a 7.62x25... then I changed my mind to a 7.62x39... eventually I'll get around to finishing my 7.62x39. I just need to get some machine time in to modify some piston parts.
  10. Instead of loctite, look into Rockset. It isn't as effected by heat, but also can be forced out by hand. My Ruger GSR has an AAC brakeout that is only hand tight (with shims), and the Rockset has held it in place since the day I installed it.
  11. The thing about hunting Westcoast (CONUS) bears, they're all Black and in heavy wooded areas. The likelihood of making a +60 yard shot is very rare. Mine were all taken from 25-60 yards, with a 3x scope. Now if you go for browns, you can be making a 300+ yard shot across the tundra and over a river.... and that's about as close as I care to EVER get to an Alaskan Brown or a Grizzly.
  12. Those motherfuckers did the exact same to me and my PPK/s. I've had that little PPK magazine for 12 years, sitting in the package, never used. I put it in a box of random crap years ago. It'd kill me to look for it now.
  13. Washington State The Blacks up there get to be several hundred pounds (my uncle's was 600lbs). Theyre on the top of the Black scale up there. Most of them are shot out of trees, so a lightweight short barrel rifle works great. With treed bears, calibers are all dependent on shot placement. I know a guy who hunts treed 200lbs cougars with a .22mag rifle. I'm not saying a .22mag will do, but a 40 yard head shot on a Black can be done with a .223 round. Personally, I'd take my 45-70... I know some that take a .300WM, or the guys who use the same rifle for all bears like the .338WM. I shot my bears with a .308 bolt rifle. All mine were in Northern California and weighed between 250 and 325 lbs. All were head shots, so my hides were immaculate. If you want bigger bears, you have to go to Alaska. Now you're talking about $$THOUSANDS$$ to get your hunt.
  14. If you like rubber grips, you can't go wrong with Magpul MOE+ or K2+.
  15. I forgot... my jealousy is reignited.
  16. What muzzle device did you use?
  17. I like ASA more than JP. ASA blocks the charging handle slot, where JP still requires a CH. SWORD Int makes a really nice non-reciprocating upper, but I doubt they'll ever get sold as individual parts.
  18. First off, I got a chance to shoot the Mini30 recently... garbage half the time... which to me, means garbage all the time. A mag would shoot fine once, and then have problems with the next load. Nothing changed. It was just random, unsolvable problems. There are two tricks to an AR in 7.62x39: 1. Cason Eng Enhanced Bolt and Firing Pin 2. C-Products DEFENSE "J-Mag" Magazines Cason makes a new bolt that has all the bells and whistles going for it. They have several thousand round, full auto, on the same bolt. Steel or brass, it is devouring everything. C-Products is now C-Products Defense, and their new designed 7.62x39 mag is called the J-Mag. They make a 28rd that fits in standard mag pouches. They also make a 35rd, but it's not released yet. The 35rd mag is the old 30rd banana style, but with the newer follower (out of the 28rd). The steel mags have double welds on the spine and come nitride treated. They really stood out at SHOT Show. ASC mags are the most common out there, but have to be slightly modified (only if you bought 30's. The 10's run fine). Get out your dremmel and grind about 1/4" moon shape out of the front lip of the mag. That'll help the heavy cartridge clear the mag. Having M4 ramps on your receiver/barrel helps too. Makes sure those ramps are clear and flush.
  19. I trust safe.... but "sound" better be the sound of leather pulling through dad's belt loops and tanning that hide!
  20. No tracking numbers. Some got theirs yesterday. Most will get theirs today. The rest of you, living on the sticks, should see yours tomorrow. Luckily, I don't think we have any AK or HI buyers. They were shipped from NH.
  21. Remind me to have tracking chips implanted in my daughters
  22. Well color me impressed.
  23. Saved nothing. Now he HAS to buy it because he knows it fits/works.
  24. Not that any of you scum bags deserve it, but.... TRIGGERS SHIPPING TOMORROW 4/29
