  1. You dirty man! I'm down to waste more lead!!
  2. This is my kit. It's pretty damned old, as it was a hand-me-down from my father. I have emptied and refilled it several times. It says "Lone Star" but it's a mesh of DPMS and Armalite now. I usually buy the little 3-packs of whatever I need from Brownells, then put my spares in this box.
  3. The wife and I needed a commuter too. The Ram 2500 turbo was sucking 11.5 mpg, and my '87 Wrangler ain't much better. That Cali water soaked in, and we got a Subaru Impreza Hatchback. I get 35-37, depending on how much freeway time I get. The nice part was all wheel drive. I actually drove it from NorCal to Sierra Vista, AZ last year. It has really treated us well so far.
  4. I just finished, and I'm too tired to take pictures tonight. SI Defense Gen4 receiver set NiB BCG Phase5 Bolt Release Phase5 Charging handle NEMO 18" 1:10 rifle length with melonite finish JP Cooley Brake Timney Trigger Heavy (Tungsten) Buffer and modified spring APEX 15" handguard Magpul PRS Stock (FG) Magpul MIAD grip (FG) Magpul AFG (FG) Magpul MBUS Gen2 (FG) Harris Ultralite Bipod I'll try to snap some pics in the morning. It's a "gun show" weekend, so no promises. Lol
  5. Impressive, but I disagree that corrosion is more prominent than wear. Especially when you take into consideration modern cleaning tools, quality cartridges and avid shooters. I know some SWAT guys that are easily doing 5k rounds a year in their Colt M4's. There's no signs of corrosion, and plenty of wear.
  6. You like us now... But you'll be cussing us when you're taking out a 2nd mortgage to fund your next project.
  7. I'm seriously debated on one for my next build. I'm just trying to decide carbine or rifle stock first. Edit: I just read that it comes with a spacer to fit either length. I think I'm sold.
  8. @reloadedguns, try sending him a "Private Message". He should get notification in his email and will probably respond faster. Dr69er isn't really a regular poster here, so you may be waiting a while for him to check this posting.
  9. Like an old blue hair in a menthol smoke filled room, "Bingo!" At least the fix is only a few bucks and is user end fixable. Count your blessings there. If you have any trouble finding an Armalite AR10 rifle length gas tube, give us a shout. You'd be surprised what we can find around here.
  10. I think you nailed the issue, right on the head. Have you measured the distance of the gas block to the receiver yet? That would be a huge indicator as well.... Although, some disassembly may be required.
  11. Aw crap! We just had a big "meet and shoot" outside of Sierra Vista last year. I drug the wife out there for Hell Dorado that same weekend. As for the Fulton Armory, they make a great shooter. Not quite the "budget" rifle by any stretch though. If I were to make an honest suggestion.... The DPMS "308 Recon" or the Armalite "AR-10A A4 Carbine". Both rifles could be had complete for about $1,500. Very affordable and both are well built rifles.
  12. Are you sure he just wasn't down wind from you, and couldn't handle the "eau de Bubba" anymore? <laughs> <lmao>
  13. They are a class act over there. I'm glad it worked out for you. <thumbsup>
  14. I use a BattleComp on one of my rifles. I have a BattleComp on another rifle. I have the BattleComp on my long range rifle and a BattleComp on my 14.5" rifle. I have another BattleComp on my hunting rifle. Did I mention I also have a BattleComp? Seriously though, I put several BC v1.5's on 14.5" 5.56 builds. I have a BABC on my 14.3" 300Blk. I also have a BABC on my 17" .308 I will have a v2.0 or v1.0 on my 10.3" pistol build I'm plotting out. I got a private email from BattleComp, when I was inquiring about their 51t modification, hinting that they may be working on their very own 51t model (or similar).
  15. Please pass this info to your shooting friends. This is still an active sale.
  16. :laughing4: You beat me to it
  17. I hope you've been keeping your wallet well oiled. Money tends to leave burn marks in your wallet when you join us here.
  18. Wolves... Can outta-towners get in on this? That might be worth a trip in the future. Unfortunately, with the birth of my new son, I don't see hunting season happening this year. Just too much stuff going on around the house to get away for a few days.
  19. <--- Can envy :'(
  20. I just got a hold of a new gen4 set for a buddy. I personally own a Gen2. I think the older gen matches up lines better from the upper/lower set. The Gen4 I have here is very tight. We had a member with a bad experience not long ago. SI D made good on it and replaced the parts. You can't go wrong with any of them.
  21. It's not a bad choice.... Pricier, yes! But the performance will be the selling point.
  22. If only we could clone Clint and the Duke. Then we'd get back to the roots of good film!
  23. I was going to watch "Wolverine" but I heard Hugh Jackman was anti-mutant and anti-adamantium. Bastard!!!
