  1. I called and spoke to MGI again today. They advised me that their tech was out sick and hasn't had the opportunity to check my part yet. The nice gal I spoke with on the phone reassured me that they had my part and "it looks all mangled up." It was in her opinion that the parts were very likely to be replaced. I hope to be able to share more news soon.
  2. Just got an email from SI-Defense... Since their merge with NEMO Arms, they lost track of my order and thus my stainless carrier as well. I exchanged emails with a really nice gal named Stephanie who was more than willing to help me out. I'm hoping to have good news to share with you all real soon.
  3. Will they do it on both sides? I think I'd really like a folding left side charging handle.
  4. Here is a link directly to the source... http://www.barnesbullets.com/blog/2012/02/09/new-300-aac-blackout-barnes-products/
  5. TAC-TX is not loaded ammo VOR-TX is loaded
  6. It'll look good with that bunny suit.
  7. Have you ever tried "Circle S Ranch" in Petaluma? It's off Bodega Hwy, just west of town. It's gotta be closer than Sac Valley and Yolo Sportsman Club.
  8. MidwayUSA.com is having a SALE on ammo HERE
  9. What about BFG? Very few guns meet the requirement to be an actual BFG. The number 1 requirement, of course, is to be really fuckin big!!
  10. I have an NiB coated upper from SI Defense (NEMO Arms) and I love it. It is not a "bright stainless" like a pimp gun. It is darker in appearance. I have the stainless steel BADASS levers and they are slightly brighter than my upper.
  11. Oh wow! Damn you all!!! I just got offered a ripping' good deal on a mint condition 700 in .260 Rem. I think I'm going to have to rethink my stance on that offer. Effin' Tom and his BDM!!
  12. Thanks for reminding me about this thread. LOKI came through with a beauty of a barrel. Check my build thread for more info, plus pics. Thread locked
  13. Sorry I'm late to this party. I just got off the mountain. I'm looking forward to shooting all you got out there. I'm excited for this new "surprise"
  14. .308 Dissipators are rare. Nice build! <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  15. I'm with Plane... You need a fishing pond! Get to it!
  16. For that price, I'd just go run and buy the LaRue OBR, and probably be a LOT happier.
  17. What!?! No pool? I hope you didn't return the bobcat yet!
  18. But something like this could change my mind.
  19. Yes, you must use an A2 buffer tube. Then you need a .308 buffer and buffer spring. Preferably the rifle length variety. Now if you already own a carbine setup, you can buy a block for your A2 buffer tube. Then run the carbine system as usual.
  20. The charging handle on the large format AR whacks into the raised cheek piece of the original PRS. The .308 specific PRS has a shorter cheek piece. The fitting dimensions are all the same. The 308 version fits the small format AR's just fine.
  21. On my last build (the 7.62x39) I ran into an issue with mounting a YHM upper on a LMT lower. The front pivot pin wiggled ever so slightly. Just enough to be annoying. I fixed this by opening the rifle and applying a 1" x 1/16" strip of 3M anti-slip tape just above the pivot pin. The rifle compresses the extra thick tap, taking out the slop, and effectively "soft-beds" the two receiver halves together. My fix was not for added accuracy though. I just wanted a rifle that didn't sound like Fred Sanford's old junk truck driving down a dirt road.
  22. Anyone here have experience with these? Before a LE career, I had aspirations to finish my degree for engineering. A misguided lifestyle coerced me into dropping out of college two years early. Now (almost 15 years later), being so much older and wiser <laughs>, I am thinking of dabbling in this semi affordable venture. I just have no clue where to start. <dontknow>
  23. In no way am I trying to think any of these are original names... but maybe will help get the wheels turning for something creative. Behemoth Goliath Colossus Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer) Gungnir (Odin's Spear) Negh'Var (Geek alert! The largest Klingon warship ever!!) Mons Meg (A 15th century siege/artillery weapon noted for its HUGE size) Ursa Major (Big Bear constellation. Save the "Ursa Minor" for your pistol configuration?) I thought about Dreadnaught, Leviathan and Nautilus (Jules Verne novels)... But they all seemed a little too aquatic to me??? I'll think of more later
  24. That is HOT :leghump: I especially like the SWS free float. I debated LONG about whether I wanted the Apex or the SWS. Every time I see the SWS I feel like I made a mistake. You should see if KMT is still taking orders, or doing work. Then have them do the "reach" modification that YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE BEGINNING <lmao> Kaiser Military Technologies (KMT) Inc 639 E 39th St Yuma, AZ 85365 Phone: 619-987-4764
  25. There are two kinds of Ranger plates. One is for a standard mag, and the other is for the PMAG.
