  1. I have a guy in town who does Kryptek cerakote. $150 for the upper and $300 for the whole rifle. He has a same day turnaround. I'm thinking of getting my next build done in Highlander.
  2. I got to molest that set back in January. It is a work of art. I have to say SI-D is definitely one of the top tier manufacturers in the AR game... right up their with LaRue, LMT, KAC, and LWRCi. I thought about building one when I first saw it, but I'm still happy with my current SI-D. What's your plan for this? Long range? Hunter? Ninja weapon?
  3. I just reread all the barrel descriptions and they say nothing about chrome lining... yet they do mention nitrite treatment...
  4. I think the current DD barrels are all CHF and Melonite/nitride treated.... whatever they are, their damn nice. I have the LW 14.5" mid on a Colt
  5. I have a freezer full of mammary gland juice...
  6. Were you more hurt that I threw a nickel at you... Or that I took back three pennies in change?
  7. You've never eaten the hotdogs sold in the parking lot after a Raider game. It's amazing that 4 hours of Jack Daniels can't even mask the flavor... it's even more amazing that you start to like them, and crave them in the off season. Luck would have it... the same little Mexican lady, with the same little homemade grill... also makes nuclear dog at the Athletics and Giants games.
  8. I swear I've eaten many things people would believe inedible, just add seasoning.
  9. For a guy I never met, I sure do miss having him around.
  10. Sounds like you have a leak in your gas. Can you swap the piston system parts from your 14.5 to your 20? I don't know enough about the POF piston, but if it's anywhere similar to the PWS or AA or HK, you should be able to pull a majority of the piston and compare parts. I'll bet you're missing some small, seemingly insignificant, part.
  11. Nice! How weird that I missed this... Glad it all worked out.
  12. Wait.... how did you get UNstuck?
  13. No hunting bag is complete without them...
  14. If your burlesque dancing career doesn't pan out, I'll bet someone would pay to use that brain of yours.
  15. If that were accurately represented... we have a couple common law marriages now... and I think unforgiven and R2 are expecting?? I know I sure hell owe a few guys dinner and a movie...
  16. Farkle... no one understands you when you're speaking Asian... lol
  17. If memory serves... that scope was something like a 10-20x50. I don't recall him shooting a gawdam thing with that rifle.
  18. My buddy bought his for the $89 (or maybe it was $79?) Then added an aftermarket stock, bolt and scope... totalling 4x or 5x the value of the rifle. He used to go hunting with me, carrying it. It was the only bayonet-toting deer rifle I'd ever seen. The joke was constantly about "just in case the deer charged us".
  19. I remember when all my friends bought them at Big 5 on sale for $105ea. The Mosin was $89 that same weekend.
  20. I too was thinking, there has to be better (read: more local) options for a direct thread on suppressor... lighter too!
  21. Butter and McCormick Montreal steak or chicken seasoning.... yum
  22. When you buy a custom barrel, the company "should" give you a matching bolt as well... most good companies do. Understand that's part of the $600ish price tag. I believe only the rifle length tubes differ in size. Just confirm the tube length with the barrel maker. Again, a GOOD company should be able to supply this part as well. You'll likely want to use an adjustable GB no matter which tube length you choose. If you get the adjustable gb, you likely won't need more than a standard buffer system.
  23. With the popularity of melonite, I'm surprised we don't see it on mags more often. CP-D's "Diamond Black" (or whatever dafuq they call it) is about as close as we get, while keeping it affordable.
  24. The biggest con to swapping an Armalite barrel is finding out the new barrel is no better than the original... and now you're $250 poorer.
