Shot one the other day. It’s a bargain for the price

For about 400 rds I have enjoyed my valdada scope on my mk12. I think I want some more magnification. It’s mounted in a Larue mount. I am open to offers, pm me. This is a Valdada Trident 1.5-8 5.56 bdc

Well that could be an issue. That’s why it was stated. They need a lot more lube than an AR 15. Could you measure you buffer and weigh it? Also the internal depth of your receiver extension and relaxed length of your spring. And please measure the size of your gas port

How wet is it. Also please check headspace

How wet? These rifles take quite a few rds to break in and like/need to be dripping wet. Also, have you checked head space?

You aren’t over gassed, your buffer is too light. At a minimum it should be 5.4oz. Those silent capture springs should be run with an adjustable gas block, otherwise they aren’t quite enough

He will suggest the Wilson but there are many nice options out there. Your price range will definitely dictate that list. Aero seems to be the best bang for the buck set with no issues. I have a Mega set that is very well done with a lot of nice features. A big problem you may run into is availability

Or a Nitehawk TRS Comp. Alas, I will be attempting to acquire SIG 320 X5 Legion before years end, I really liked the way it shot and it’s much closer to my budget. Which is nill. Lol

Depends. For me, does it shoot up to expectations? Is the quality meet the standard it should have? My bucket list of guns has dwindled but I imagine the ones I still lust over would make me warm and fuzzy hitting the bang switch

Don’t be offended but so far your choice of parts are not meshing well. I’m just trying to help and I’ll explain: Your upper: moriarty is known to have out of spec parts, that’s why they are so cheap. Could be your upper, bcg... who knows. Your lower: just look at the mountain of PSA headaches on here. Good news? Most of them are fixed with the correct recoil system, which PSA does not understand in the least. Please give us detailed measurements of that. Now, your barrel is gtg. I doubt it’s a gas issue since you have other things going on, as mentioned in your op. Like dropping from catch to chamber a round. Pictures and detailed info are going to be a must. Tolerance stacking is almost certainly at play here. We can try to make it work but.... For what it’s worth, may want to start saving up for a matched receiver set and known bcg. Maybe even a stripped PSA upper would get you closer. Please reply with requested info for more help. So modern metallurgy will give you some flexibility. While it is higher pressure you may get away with some rounds.... but I would wait until you’re broken in first. Look for m80 ball if you can find it. Others will chime in here but I think it’ll be unanimous

@candid, all your questions are theoretical and moot unless you are a bench rest shooter and strap your gun down and replicate the same exact outside factors on each trigger pull. If that’s the case buy a bolt gun that is far more consistent internally. The questions your asking are moot there too given the variance on each individual round of ammo. Last but not least, you are the biggest variable and until you can shoot consistently under .25 Moa i really do t think any of this matters other than being able to spout a bunch of loquacious words attempting to make yourself sound intelligent. This shit is way above my scope of knowledge and I don’t care, why? Because I don’t shoot that way. Closest I’ll ever get is shooting off a bipod. That changes variables every round. Shooting on the move. Again, more variables. I challenge myself to be consistent because there is no way I’m good enough to care about that mumbo-jumbo. I’ve never shot better than the One time a had a five round .375 Moa group. Once. Every other time I fuck up and I’m the variable.

Primed 199 5.56 rounds. First time as I am really gearing up to reload. This winter will be full on production. These were a control lot for my ladder load to develop a mk262 clone and a ladder load for a 69gr load, both being tested in the mk12. I’ll probably do the same tomorrow too. I may be new but I can’t say enough about the Lee bench priming tool. Damn it’s easy.

Well done! If you asked me to grab a rifle and I get one for any and all missions going forward, it’ll be my mk12. It’s heavier than some of my other but it feels right, shoots lights out and is just right. Only thing I’d change is maybe going to a newer and lighter generation PRI handguard. But I’ll just work out a little more instead
