  1. I think you missed my point. I am vetoing 6.8 in favor of you getting a 12" repr upper.
  2. If that will become your primary load then yes.
  3. He's already got the 20" rifle Wash, all he needs is to swap uppers, done
  4. And I know who... I used the force.
  5. Is that what you sighted in with? Different ammo will have different poi
  6. This here is good advice.
  7. I just think you are chicken, and won't fill out the paperwork for a 12" repr upper! Sorry Lon, haven't instigated in a while, and this seemed like a good one to start back up!
  8. What was the distance?
  9. I'm sure both will be fine, but the RRA is and G2 are both proprietary designs, something to keep in mind Welcome, now post up pics of your car!
  10. Studded tires on a street bike is fricken cool. We should do that out here! Heavy frost last two nights, WINTER IS COMING!
  11. That's what she said! Sorry, couldn't help it. Only the rifle length is different to my knowledge, mid and carbine is the same. As for length, I'm not sure but I know the opening is different to accommodate for the larger receiver.
  12. Welcome. If your going to build, and plan on using all DPMS parts, why not just buy a complete rifle? You'll get a warrantee with it. The receivers are generally what dictate what the build is called. It's really not a big deal, people generally pick out parts they want and assemble. It's normal when building, and actually the reason people primarily do it. It's also a pattern. There is no mil spec on these large frame AR'S, and you will need to pick out a pattern and coordinating parts. Armalite is the ar10 pattern, DPMS/sr-25 is a the lr308 pattern (heh, mostly), then there is rock river which uses there own (and FAL mags)
  13. Wait!? No Dillo dust!
  14. Imr 4064 is what Sierra says is comparable in their manual
  15. There is an imr that's similar, my loading book is down stairs, and I'm kinda busy with the Mohicans, give me a few and I'll get back to it
  16. That's a better choice falcon, I don't think this will solve all their issues. Not to mention they pushed out a product I'm sure they knew that it problems. Hard to keep the faith after that.
  17. Noveske only comes in Armalite, that's what I'm doing with the sbr.
  18. Or that ^^ Very good starting point with a warrantee
  19. We all envy you, and you smoker.....
  20. Slow down cowboy.... The beautiful thing about the MaTen is you can do either pattern. Here's the thing: The barrel and bolt need to match. The barrel you showed us above from Rainier is available in Armalite pattern, so with the Armalite bcg you can headspace and be all set. You cannot however headspace an Armalite bolt to a DPMS barrel, square peg to round hole. If you do get the DPMS pattern, you'll need a different bcg. Your parts kit should be fine, if anything it'll just be the catch, which can be ordered from Armalite separately and is a beefier better part, but you may not need it.
  21. ^^^^^^ we say that because they are a place that most of us will not support. Post sandy hook they immediately increased their price of pmags to $99 a piece, as well as many other products. Unacceptable. Now, thank you for clarifying. You will need: Receiver sets Buffer tube (or properly known as receiver extension) Buffer/spring Barrel Gas tube Muzzle device Bolt carrier group Hand guard Stock Lower parts kit Grip Trigger Sights (unless optics only) Possibly an upper parts kit (depends on what receiver you buy) Magazines If I missed something others will be along. I like using Rainier Arms for parts reference
  22. Bang, you are ok. As long as you order the barrel in Armalite pattern. I don't think he saw you are choosing the Armalite pattern for this build. He was just making sure you didn't mix and match. My MaTen build is going to be put together similarly but I'm using a Noveske barrel/ Armalite bcg.
  23. I can tell you he's still riding, I'll get in touch with him for an update and have him post. He's been pretty busy
