You contact Hornady and tell them their BTHP Match bullets in the heavier weights need a faster twist, because there are "imperfections in their bullets" that are only known at the higher RPMS that faster twists produce. That's the reason they need the faster twists - due to those imperfections. Right after you're finished sending off that email, you send another one to Sierra and let them know that exact same information about the imperfections in their MatchKing ammo in the heavier weights. That's straight-up NOT the case, right there. You got it right, with that - from where ever you found that info. Heavy bullets have to spin faster for that very reason. Your 168-through-1:10 twist, but 175-not is inaccurate, though. Go research the twist rate on the M110, find out why it was chosen, and what the mandated load for that rifle was. That'll shake you up.

Painting again tonight, men! :banana: I'm going to see what happens to air-dry Cerakote when you bake it afterwards... <dontknow> <thumbsup> Experimental Discovery - you can use Cerakote C-Series (air dry) on your stuff, and you can bake it at low temps. Perfect for plastics, woods, non-metal parts, etc. Baked some tonight at 170 degrees for 3 hours. Take parts out, let them cool, assembly immediately. Like, right now. Stuff is harder than woodpecker lips. :hethan:

I'll be prepping some MagPul polymer stuff on Saturday night, for paint Sunday morning. I'll let you know what I do. NOT USING acetone, that's for damn sure. I picked up some denatured alcohol to hit them with, though. They'll go into the little plastic tub with that stuff, and sloshed all around, that's for sure. I'll gas them out at 150 degrees for about 30 minutes. I'll let you know if it works - or post pics of melted goo in the bottom of my oven... <lmao>

That Radical Little Fur-Missile has been quite calm these days. I still let him out, but he's content in the backyard. Caught him on the wall one day, that separates the two properties. The dogs on the other side were going buck-nutty, but he was just watching them. Fucker did chew up one of my shooting mats, though. :bat:

What Rob posted is sad, but face it - anything that's black is damn near like Glow-In-The-Dark through NODs. Just paint your stuff anything but black, and it's harder to see. When we had Woodland BDUs, the four-color stuff, light and dark brown, green and black, I used to spraypaint field uniforms and cover the black. Worked, too. Damn well, I might add.

I'm painting today, brother - you already know what the color is. :banana: That's the bake on stuff, which will be ready to assemble after it comes out of the heat. The air-dry color won't be ready for a few days.

Cerakote sez... ***In most cases it is not necessary or recommended to soak plastic and polymer parts in a solvent-based degreaser as to avoid damaging the part. Thoroughly wiping plastic and polymer parts with a compatible degreasing solvent is sufficient.
