    Becoming leo

I always had people ask me that same question when I was in the Army - "You act like you can change the whole Army by the way you do and say things - why do you think you can change it by yourself?..." My answer was simple - we move around alot. I don't need to change the whole Army at once. I just need to change one or two good people, good Soldiers, in the assignment that I'm in right then. And I'll move. Change one or two more - make a difference for them. Teach them what's right, when to do what, how to accept responsibility for their actions and the actions of their own Soldiers... ...and move again... Before you know it, 10 years down the road, I've affected and changed maybe 20~30 Soldiers. by that time, they're getting up there in rank, and maybe they remember some of the lessons I taught them, and lead the way they're supposed to. Maybe they're affecting or changing one or two MORE Soldiers at every duty assignment... and those one or two gain some rank... In the course of 5 years, I could have changed a dozen people, made them good - or great - leaders. In the course of 10 years, that "trickle-down" effect on that might equate to 3 dozen Soldiers. After 20 years, it might have been something like 12 dozen... Who knows? I know I saved the good ones, got rid of the bad ones, and did the very best I could with what I had. I live that way to this day, and change what I can. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." The "courage" and "wisdom" parts of that phrase is paramount. <thumbsup>
  2. That cracks me up!!! <lmao>
  3. Hey brother, ready to throw another kink in the chain? Don't overlook the GG&G bipods. The HD-XDS is a damn good one for your application, but I'd suspect the regular XDS would do fine on your rifle, too. No adapters necessary - just the pic rail. Various models in this link: http://www.gggaz.com/tactical-rifle-bipods.html
  4. When adapters come into play for the Harris bipods, my personal favorite is the ADM setup. I'm running that on two or three rifles (can't remember how many?... ). ADM Part # AD-BP. http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/15/
  5. Yep! That's Rule 65b - Drew invented that one... <lmao>
  6. Just got started on this tonight - hell of alot easier than I imagined it would be. There's gonna be THOUSANDS of these little guys running around soon. <thumbsup>
  7. Damn, I SWEAR I posted in here! I LOVE me some iron-sighted National Match-type rifles!!!
  8. Hell, he even commented in the other thread, before starting this one!... <lmao>
  9. Hey Jon! Made my first four cases tonight - bet it didn't even take 5 minutes, total. Chopped them at the neck, chamfered inner & outer, and ran them through the press. They still need to be trimmed to final length, but it was EASY, brother! Once fired Lake City 5.56 cases.
  10. MOST Definitely!!! <lmao> Jon can't take it - he's gonna rupture something...
  11. Talked to my Brother Ron today - he picked up his SR762. I need to get over there and check it out. We'll probably be out blasting that beast shortly. <thumbsup>

    Lone survivor

I picked that up a couple weeks ago, brother - almost as soon as I saw they had it. Pretty good. All documentary, and all about what kind of person he was. Good stuff, worth the money. <thumbsup>
  13. Shibi beat me... <lmao>
  14. Drill into that round tube and mount a piece of picatinny rail. <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  15. Awesome display of some Super 3 Gun. <thumbsup> Appears to be quite a bit faster than that Taccon setup. <dontknow>
  16. Get ahold of Drew, site owner. Username is "imschur" - probably should have been done first. Welcome.
  17. Damn, that's a great lookin' rig, brother! <thumbsup>
  18. Nah, that's not quite true, brother - you have THIS idiot there... She might be good looking, but she's about as liberal as they get. She wants to be a Kentucky Senator, too. Don't let her get there, brother, don't let her get there...
  19. Damn... going after Matt for no reason, unprovoked... I see a Warning War starting... <lmao>
  20. I posted it someplace here... Here it is:
  21. Every once in awhile, mine loosens up, and I throw rounds everywhere. <dontknow>
  22. That would be... The ULTIMATE Arrowhead. :hail: You bastards can't recognize that?!... :bitchslap:

    Need some tips

Yep. Your pistol will recoil UP if you don't grip it tight enough with both hands, and/or control the trigger follow through. Your pistol will recoil left/right, to the "path of least resistance." Shooting right-handed, and seeing it recoil towards the left = good grip with the right (firing) hand - but unequal support on the other side of the pistol. Pistol hand - grip pressure: hold the pistol in your firing hand (one hand). Focus on a target. Tighten your grip to the point that your sights (sighted on a target) start to shake - that's too much grip pressure. Start SLOWLY relaxing your grip until your sights do not shake anymore... That's the perfect grip pressure that you need with your firing hand. Then... you need to match that force with your non-firing hand, in support. Gripping and making things shake isn't the way to do it - test firing with different amounts of pressure is the only way.
