  1. I've got a pretty sweet 2005, brother - first year they came out. <thumbsup> Modded the hell out of it. :hethan:
  2. FINALLY have this thing in a configuration that I can shoot! Major parts were there a LONG time ago - over a year. Picked up the PRI rail, and I can shoot it now. It's still missing TWO parts - I need the full-length top rail and rear sight, both from PRI. However, for now, I can take it out and shoot it. FINALLY! Parts: Mega billet lower, MagPul MOE+ grip, MOE rifle stock, KNS Precision turned lower parts kit with Armalite springs, Armalite 2-stage NM trigger (adjusted pretty light), BADASS (of course). Upper is Aero Precision, BCM BCG, Gunfighter large latch CH, NEMO 16" carbine-gas 300BLK nitrided barrel, PRI rifle-length tube, PRI flip-up front sight, and Spike's DynaComp on the end. Gasblock is Midwest Industries lo-pro, and some carbine gas tube I had in the parts box. Warne Maxima steel QD rings with the Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 Firedot-G scope (1.5-4x20).
  3. ^^^ You know - that would be a great idea, but they'd have to be transferred. OLLs shipped to your place for pics = CBI kicking in your door! Hey, wait a minute - Roger is in Cali all the time. Wonder how far he is from San Dee-Eggo?
  4. Before you cut on anything, just removed the receiver extension, remove the pin, remove the spring. Drop the pin in it's hole by itself, and see if it'll go all the way down. It should. If it doesn't, there's an issue in that hole somewhere; a burr or something... P.S. If there IS a burr in that hole, and you force that pin down in there, you might not get it out - even with pliers. Just go easy.
  5. THAT'S fukkin bull$hit, bro! <lmao> :wtf: :tfg:
  6. I'm in. CG it is, brother. <thumbsup> Bring that 10/22 with you, and I'll mod the bolt release right there at the range. Used to do that for every person that brought one to an Appleseed - it's necessary there. I'll bring a couple 10/22s with me, too - let you check out some different triggers, etc. We can decide to go from there. I need to hit Cabela's on the way home from work this week, so I'll check for a pretty good trigger setup there - they used to carry them, not sure if they still do or not.
  7. That's harsh, man! HAHA!!! I talked to him last weekend - he was down on weight, but has picked some of it back up the past couple weeks. More food! He's doing well.
  8. Dude! I'll give a bunch of info about this - love me some 10/22s! There's lots of guys here with them. The info will FLOW...
  9. What a waste of a perfectly good DRZ-400 SM... :ugone2far:
  10. This thread is only four - FOUR - years old, guys... <laughs> <lmao>
  11. THIS, ladies, gentlemen, and Rob... <lmao> ...is something to behold, when it comes out... If you get to witness it firsthand, just hope you're watching it, and it's not directed at you... <laughs>
  12. HELL YEAH, BROTHER!!!! Love ya, man, and I'm damn glad to have you around. Now, let's go break some $hit. <thumbsup> <lmao>
  13. I told you guys these were smoooooooth!!!! <thumbsup> They're awesome, Roger! You know I need a couple out of the first batch... Dawn Marie is poking me in the ribs - she told me she gets hers before I get mine. <dontknow> <lmao>
  14. Larry, I saw that one a mile off! When you showed up AND had the grandson with ya!... <lmao> Dawn Marie actually talked him into shooting something - he looked like he was intimidated by "the big kids..." but she won him over.
  15. Eh. He's doing okay... <lmao>
  16. On the receiver extensions with the cutout for the retaining pin, you gotta depress the retaining pin to go that extra turn, so it doesn't hit the pin whilst turning. Did you do that when you attempted to give it one more turn? If not, give it a try - it looks like it might go that extra turn, just never can tell until you try it. Just wondering...
  17. She loves it when I'm dirty/greasy/stinky/sweaty... Turns her on. She likes the caveman... <thumbsup>
  18. Believe it or not, I was coming in here to suggest this. You can even go with the Armalite 2-stage National Match, and it's not Geissele-priced. It's adjustable, dependable, and a very, very good trigger. I have one, and I have no intentions of ever getting rid of it. It is an excellent trigger, and won't break the bank. It's a little more than the RRA 2-stage, but very well worth it.
  19. I'm with ya. To me, "MSR" means Modular Sniper Rifle. Nothing more.
  20. They had a great booth setup at SHOT - lot's of good stuff, including the 308. They do very high quality work.
  21. Spent about 45 minutes talking to Dale at Elite Iron. What a great conversation! His Revolution Bipod is SMART. He's got some other stuff that I'll cover, too. Here's the vid on the bipod:
  22. Okay, I can't get the info on FCW to load, for some reason... Anyway, we probably spent a total of 3 or 4 hours over the course of the show, just talking to Travis Frerking. He's one cool guy. Funny stories, good times, and he's got one AWESOME piece of hardware coming out. I've got pics, but I will not post them until I can get his permission. I'll call him next week. At any rate, I'll try to get him on the forum - he'd fit right in around here, I have NO doubt!... <lmao>
  23. Several discussions I had with manufacturers: Barnes Bullets: With the ATF letter coming out a couple years ago about the solid-construction of some bullets, and thus going into an "armor piercing" category, you filed a request for exemption on many calibers for the TSX banded solid copper bullets, but you didn't file for the .224" category. What's the status on the exemption requests you filed, and will you include the .224 in the future? Answer: The copper construction of the banded solid TSX is NOT an armor piercing projectile. (conversation interruption - I gave him a big HELL YEAH IT'S NOT! right there in the conversation). The ATF's letter was never intended for the Barnes TSX, but they took those steps ahead of time just to make sure they were't lumped into that category in the future. They have never received an answer from BATFE on the exemption request they filed, for the calibers they filed, and they don't expect to get an answer. They will NOT pursue an exemption for the .224 projectiles, and they do not make them anymore. They won't make them in the future. Bummer. Next question was - how does Silver State Armory still manufacture and sell loaded 70 TSX ammunition? Answer: We don't know, but they must have purchased alot of them when they could - we haven't made them in awhile. Next Booth - Silver State Armory: Question: How do you guys still manufacture .223 ammo loaded with the Barnes 70 TSX? Barnes isn't making those anymore... Answer: We buy alot of bullets, in very large quantities. I don't know how many of those we bought, but I can say that we buy in lots that can be as large as 500,000 projectiles... Interesting... Next Booth: Hodgdon powders... Question: You guys still making Varget? I can't find that stuff ANYWHERE. Answer: Yeah we do! Lot's of it! I think we manufactured 50,000 pounds of Varget last year. If you can't find it, that means people are beating you to it, because we're still making ALOT of it. Bummer... Next Booth: Daniel Defense: Comments: What you guys did last January with the online ordering of custom rifles was INGENIOUS. You were the ONLY place for someone to buy an AR, at that time. If you could get into the website, construct your rifle, and make it to checkout, you received a rifle. You were the only people doing that, the ONLY place to buy a complete AR, and that kicked you up a notch (or many) in alot of people's eyes. Answer: (laughs) We try. I know we were trying to push out rifles in a week during that period, for those that would make it through checkout. We fell short, and some people didn't get their rifles for two weeks. (TWO WEEKS!!! Unreal, guys <thumbsup> ). Next comment: Did you guys bring your new Mk12 to the show? Answer: Yeah, it's right over here... Wow, guys, that Mk12 is SWEET! We discussed the rail on it - it's not really the new Lite II rail. It's more. What it has become will be the NEW rails from DD, the Lite III. If you order a Mk12 rifle, you get that rail on it. Once they introduce the Lite III line, you'll be able to order that rail separately, as a Lite III. The full line of rails will have Lite III offerings (I don't know if the Lite II will be phased out, or if both will still be offered)... Cool... Next, pay attention to Frerking Custom Works... http://fcwguns.com/ I'll get more info up as I go through notes, and business cards.
  24. Never. There will never be a TDP on the .308 AR rifles. Know why? Demand. The entire military force - all branches - moved to the M16. It became the PRIMARY weapon of all services, in a time of war. As that refined, there needed to be a standard, so gunsmiths didn't need to be repairing rifles -unit armorers could diagnose and replace interchangeable parts. Interchangeable, because there is a standard. The need for 308 ARs is NOT widespread. Until such a time comes, there won't be an established standard.
