Well, the "downstream damage" was discovered. When I broke the overdrive housing, and the transfer case almost fell OUT of the truck - going 80, for those that forget... <lmao> Looks like I bent the mainshaft in the transfer case. It finally decided that it didn't want to work well and play well with others, and it fractured the output bearing housing. Just a little crack... I'm a very firm believer that God hates lazy people, so I never try to do schit half-assed. I put everything I have into it. 100% and then some. So, that little crack wouldn't be an easy thing to fix, not at all. I started shopping for boneyard transfer cases, and they were around $500~$750, in some places they wanted "exchange" too - give them my broken stuff AND pay them a hefty sum. I found a pick-a-part place, located a HD version of this t-case from a '99 V8 Durango, and had it out in about an hour. Cost = $173. Cleaned it up, swapped it in, and hoped for the best. Took it on another 80-mph-bombing run. Sum'bitch leaked at all the sealing surfaces. Removed it, tore it all down, resealed everything. The sealant is drying now. We'll see what happens. Might need to get the driveshaft rebalanced...

Yep. Ill lube the pad for the outside of the brass, roll it, then roll that brush in the lube and hit the inside of the necks. They all go into hot water washing after that, and back into the tumbler for Round 2 of the tumbling. <thumbsup>

Are you putting lube on the cases themselves? That needs to be done.

You'll love that 45, brother. It's nuts. I never expected a big, fat, slow 45 ACP round to hit anything accurately past 50 yards, but you can ring steel at 200 yards with a 16" barrel. Can't wait for your to come in, and hear a range report. When you receive it, post it up, with all the details. Love it. <thumbsup>

^^^ I will say, on that one up there - the Mossberg that Rob posted. For a 16" 308 bolt gun, be glad it's got a threaded barrel. You will NEED a comp or brake on it. The GSR with that stupid factory flash hider would rattle your damn teeth when you shot it, just from the concussion/pressure wave. I did the Spike's Dynacomp, which works great. I'd like to try a Brakeout on it.

Won't work, no matter how you slice it, brother. The 9mm Q, and 45 ACP-specific buffers are a little bit longer than the standard AR15 carbine buffer. That's to prevent the shorter 9mm and 45 bolt carrier overtravel. For a 308AR, you need something a little shorter than the standard AR15 stuff - not a little longer. <<< Armalite-specific parts not included in that reference.

Lube inside the case neck, too? If not, that'll cause the sizer ball to stick like that.

Shibi, if you're a 5.56 guy, just make damn sure you separate your 223 Rem brass from your 5.56 NATO brass. Don't start loading them both the same. I run CCI 400 primers in my 223 Rem brass and CCI 41 primers in my 5.56 brass, in addition to the different powder charges. You'll have to develop a load that works well from your 5.56 guns for each of those types of brass. If you drop a good 223 Rem powder charge in a 5.56 NATO case, that 5.56 case WILL have a higher chamber pressure. I would have voted single stage, but I got into this thread too late...

My pistol has a home on both the belt rig, and on the chest of a plate carrier. I really need to get the pics of both the plate carriers up here so you can see. Dedicated holster on the belt, so it stays right at waistband-level, and a dedicated holster on the chest rig front.

I'd rather have a stripped plate carrier or chest rig, and add the pouches. Having that stuff sewn on locks you into that forever. If you add the pouches, you pick which ones, where they go, and you can move them anytime you want. My $0.02...
