  1. Damn, that's harsh! As the old saying goes, though - when being chased by a bear, you don't have to be the fastest runner. You just have to be faster than one other person... <laughs> <lmao>
  2. Yep, what he said. Zero it on the iron sights that are there right now, then shoot it in on it's own, for it's own zero. Should go pretty quick, that way. <thumbsup> Start close, like 25 yards, then increase to 50, then 100 (if you're going that far out on the zero).

    .308 mags

tucson, CDNN (not Cheaper Than Dirtbags) currently has DPMS steel .308 mags, the 19-rounders, for a very decent price. Got the email notification this morning. <thumbsup>
  4. <laughs> <lmao> For whomever it was on the previous page, looking for a lower parts kit - consider something here... You can buy a complete AR-15 lower parts kit, and that will get you about 3 parts that you can't/don't use - but it's closer than nothing. You'd still need to find a .308 AR front pivot pin, .308 AR rear takedown pin, and a .308 AR bolt catch. All the other AR-15 parts work. You'll get a trigger, springs, detents, the safety, and a mag catch. Now, the reason I bring that up is simple - right now on DSG Arms, this is out of stock, but it re-stocks regularly. They have the Armalite National Match lower parts kit, which comes with the 2-stage National Match trigger setup. This is a good trigger. Cost on the kit is $205. Hit the site, sign up for the email notification, and wait it out. For $205, you get almost all the stuff you need, you're only left looking for 3 items, and you get a good trigger. <thumbsup>
  5. I've always liked Oly, and they're not nearly as bad as the stories out there. The rifles are very good, and the barrels are great barrels. As StainTrain said, the LEOs are not the enemy. On the flip side of that, I don't think these companies are targetting LEOs. I think the LEOs are the victims here, the collateral damage, when these companies target fucked up state governments... And the state governments DO deserve what they're getting right now...
  6. That's some awesome stuff - great find, AL!!! <thumbsup>
  7. That fucker has GOT to be dead. He got another Sheriff's Deputy (killed) and wounded one more. I'll tell you what - I think if the LEOs DID set that cabin on fire, it would be completely justifiable in the court system. I'll bet that would fly, considering the circumstances.
  8. Only Colt is large pin - that's something that came about with the 1994-2004 ban. That poop is long gone now, minus the lowers that are still out there, on the used market. If you're not buying a used Colt .223/5.56 lower, then don't worry about it.
  9. Considering the handguard and gas block you're looking at - they're both made by the same manufacturer, and that manufacturer says they'll work together. I think I'd trust the manufacturer of those parts, about their compatibility. <dontknow> If they don't work together, you've always got this going for you - there's only one place to contact about the problem. <thumbsup> ;D
  10. Finally have a Geissele Hi-Speed trigger on the way. The Service is the "heavy" trigger pull, that meets the 4.5# minimum for NRA and CMP competitions. The Match has an adjustable total pull weight of 1.8# to 3.4#. I went with the one in the middle - the DMR. It has a total pull adjustability of 2.8# to 5.1#. I've been waiting to get one of these, to compare a BUNCH of triggers. This trigger will go into the Mk12 Mod 0, 5.56 rifle.
  11. Don't worry - ammo is too expensive right now. <thumbsup> <lmao>
  12. Thanks for the advice. Have a good one. <thumbsup>
  13. Lilja, dude, Lilja. Slow down a little on your data dump, especially with the technical info, until you know a little more about it. Rene - you didn't fcuk that up, brother. You got it. <thumbsup>
  14. Buy a Fulton Armory 20" stainless match barrel, send it to ADCO and have it cut down to 18" and rethreaded, and call it a day. You don't have to coat it or treat it with anything. There's a bunch of info in this thread, so far, that's not really accurate, just so you know.
  15. That stands, to this day. I'll be both. <thumbsup>
  16. We must have been posting at the same time... I'll explain it for you. Important history lesson - research this, understand the conclusion of the court, and come back with the same argument that you currently have. This determination was made more than a century ago...
  17. I think you typed a little too much into this. You stated it. It's inaccurate, and proven by the US Supreme Court. I didn't say it - you did. Just stating reality, here. <thumbsup> Important history lesson - research this, understand the conclusion of the court, and come back with the same argument that you currently have. This determination was made more than a century ago...
  18. They have absolutely NO reason whatsoever to do that - to me. None. There's nothing in my past, or present, for a need for ANY police officer to do that. Now, if a police officer DOES "roll up on me," identifies himself, and starts firing - then you bet your ass, in the circumstances that you have provided, that I DO have a right to defend myself. Anyone in that exact situation - law-abiding, no criminal past or present, not doing ANYTHING wrong - they have that right, too. The United States Supreme Court agrees with me, too.
  19. Very, VERY well done, Mr. Ong. I applaud you. <thumbsup>
  20. You're mixing alot of good-cop and bad-cop up in your analogies. Example below, and it's all from one sentence. If a police officer approaches you, identifies himself, and starts shooting, then you most certainly have a right to defend yourself. Absolutely. I don't know how thick your skin is, or what your background is, so I'll leave you alone. Most of the time, it just winds up bad. You can say what you want about the topic, but I'm done here.
  21. ^^^ There's a Metric poop-Ton I could say about that. I'll leave it alone. <dontknow>
  22. It's no secret that MagPul dislikes the Boulder Granola Heads, for a long time now... <thumbsup>
  23. The full top rail bridges the upper to the handguard, so you can extend your magnified optic forward of the upper receiver.
  24. poop, all my Kimber's will do that. They're made out of Kryptonite and Unobtanium, assembled by wizards practicing Black Magic and sorcery. :o They're badass, and I'll never give them up. <thumbsup> I just wanted a gun I can kick the poop out of, and not worry about how it looks, or how it would affect value. ;D
  25. They just announced him as a "Domestic Terrorist" in a news conference.
