  1. Bobro mounts are the best, by far - I only have one, wish I had more, and hope I can get/find more of them in the future. They are perfect.
  2. Very nice, man, very nice. I've been on the hunt for a good 1-6 or 1.5-6 for awhile now. I like that one. <thumbsup>
  3. ^^^ His wife can SHOOT!!! <thumbsup>
  4. I'm down with the traction, and body cast. ;D
  5. That's good - and oh, so true. <thumbsup>
  6. If that were the case, we'd probably have an indication of it from this angle - but I'd be glad to volunteer and check, just to make sure... ;D
  7. It's a good one, brother - I'll stick some upper on that lower, and shoot it this Sunday. I've already had another upper on it, to get a feel for it, and I'm liking it. <thumbsup> Damn glad I picked it up. Damn glad Drew got inside MagPul's head! ;D <thumbsup>

  9. I want... :ove3: :love4:
  10. They're about 40~45 miles apart. <thumbsup>
  11. OA quit selling directly, and only through distributors - unless you're local. You can still walk in, and purchase at the storefront. I'll see if I still know anybody up there that can walk in for you. <thumbsup> I didn't know I needed the Colt mags until I fell into this lower... :o I've found some, but they're some coin. I'll be picking up a handful of them on Friday.
  12. <laughs> <lmao> BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!! <thumbsup>
  13. This was a great comment. <thumbsup> "A gun is like a parachute. If you need one and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."
  14. Looks great - I love PRI tubes! <thumbsup>

That rattler wasn't dead yet - he's still trying to coil up, hence, the curves in the body... This was the wildest "wild" thing I've sat there and watched. That red racer was NOT happy that we were there, either, and he progressively backed his ass up into the scrub. But, he didn't let go of dinner, either. Drug it with him.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, but I've never seen any poop like this before... :o This actually happend last September, on Labor Day weekend. Took off and hit a small sand rec area near here, just to get away. Met up with two good friends, just to get out and ride. Near the small drag hill, the bottom ground is filled with alot of scrub brush, like little islands of stuff in the sandy bottom. We kept getting a little further back from the hill, to get a bigger run, to get a bigger jump off the starting hill - and get it up the hill. I circled around this one that was further back the before, and I thought I saw this two-colored stick... MOVE. It was enought to catch my eye. I turned around to get a better look, and this poop just blew my mind when I realized what it was. The pic below is a rattlesnake, being eaten by a red racer. I wished I could have seen the fight, because I wouldn't have imagined this turning out the way it did. This is a badass red racer, right here. <thumbsup>
  17. They happen, and they're a bitch to clear. They suck. EastTX - how many rounds are you loading in the mag that you have, and what's the advertised capacity of that mag? No matter what the answers might be, while you're breaking in the rifle, load the mag to 1/2 capacity. 20 rounder gets 10 rounds. 10 rounder gets 5. New mag springs are tight as hell, and need broken in, too - they've never been cycled. Stick your BCG, bolt down, on a vat of oil (oil of choice). Well before you head to the range, pull that BCG out of the vat of oil, hang it up, and let the excess drip off it. Shove it in the rifle and get busy with your 1/2 capacity-loaded mags. That right there will cut down on your initial problems.
  18. See my post, here: http://308ar.com/forum/308ar-parts/bolt-carrier-groups/90/
  19. This is a DPMS-compatible bolt assembly, if that helps. Start looking for stripped carriers, and build one up. <thumbsup>

  21. By touch and feel, brother. Strip them all down and pile up the parts in one big, fat pile. Got one of those doorway gravity-boot things, so I hang myself upside down, blindfolded, lights out-in the dark, and assemble all the pieces. If they function test afterwards, load them and fire into the upside down bullet trap in the corner of the room. Good to go. Once they all work, get outta the upside down gravity boot thing, and go to bed. It's a nightly thing. <thumbsup> :o
  22. I'm seeing that now. I'm set on mags for the dedicated .45 lower, but need to start gathering the Colt SMG mags up. Pricey bastards. :o This edit is to note that Tom is responsible for the 1,000th response to this thread. I hereby dub him Supreme Commander of The 308 AR Enablers.
  23. Anytime someone uses the term "proprietary" as much as those guys did, simply translates to "hard to get, low numbers, and expensive." I hope they make it, and it catches on. Other ammo manufacturers need to get into this, or it's a one-way road, with the translation above.
  24. Hell yeah, man - research Captain Samuel Whittemore, and Hezekiah Wyman ("Death on a Pale Horse"). That's from back at the start of the Revolutionary War, at Concord and Lexington Green. As soon as I gather a little bit more "gray," I'm there. ;D
