  1. Jon, I had to go with Springer Precision on the trigger kit. They're the only ones doing a kit for the XD with thumb safefy. I was checking them out, as well as Powder River, trying to make up my mind. PRP had nothing for the thumb safety model, so that made my mind up for me. The trigger kit and extended mag release will be here Friday, so it'll be in the pistol Friday night, then shot Sunday morning. I also picked up two Arredondo extended magazine baseplates, but they hit the "backorder" status on me. They be here in another two weeks. That will make the two spare 13rd mags into two spare 15rd mags. <thumbsup> After this will be a couple internal upgrades, tritium sights, then a blast with some paint. The sights will go on after paint. Maybe a barrel. These things are ridiculous. :o <laughs> Ron, here are some of the barrel options: http://shop.springerprecision.com/category.sc;jsessionid=8A752CBA64067CDAA15A0186FA6C0669.qscstrfrnt06?categoryId=34
  2. Is that $225 for a bolt, or $225 for a complete BCG?
  3. I'm running one on the AR45, but not on a .308 AR. You need to "modify" the internal heatshield to clear the 308s. Tin snips do the trick. They attach/mount via the standard AR handguard way - Delta ring setup at the receiver end, and handguard endcap at the muzzle end. It's made for the round handguard cap, and the triangle cap (both), so it doesn't matter which handguard cap you get.

    Loose Barrel

That's a pretty solid attachment system - impressive, actually. If that barrel nut would have been properly torqued from the factory, there's no way it would loosen up on it's own (without taking out the gas tube). I like that design. <thumbsup>
  5. The magnitude of his heroism will be ignored, or unknown, by most self-absorbed Americans. What he has done for this country can never be measured, nor repayed to him. God Speed, Warrior - you are appreciated.
  6. Fuuuuuuuuuck, I just spent too much money. :o When this is all said and done, besides gun mods, I'll be carrying 44 rounds of .45ACP. What the hell do I need that for, really? :cookoo: Updates soon.
  7. There's no need for that, man. Get in here and raise some hell. <thumbsup>
  8. Good lookin' stick, man. Welcome aboard. <thumbsup>
  9. Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn, I HATE this pistol. These things are worse than AR15s. :o I picked up a Springfield Armory XD45 several months ago. I catch so much poop for being a 1911 guy (a Kimber 1911 guy, only). The plastic-pistol guys are always giving me hell. Glock guys, I respect you. I won't own a Glock, though. I do not like the trigger. Nope, not at all. I have shot the hell out of them, and I don't like them, won't learn to like them, etc. I figured the only other plastic pistol I could try out would be the SA XD. So, I tried one. It didn't have the Glock-type trigger, and shot okay. Alright, we're moving forward... Has a backstrap safety, like a 1911 - BIG plus for me (tricks me into thinking I'm shooting another 1911...). I liked it alright. Then I found the one I ended up buying - the SA XD9661HCSP, 4" Service Model, with Thumb Safety. Holy poop, this is almost a 1911!!! <laughs> Ambi mag release, ambi thumb safety. I like it. Before things got stupid - well, a couple months, before, actually - I was shopping for them pretty good. Found a couple online for decent prices, but called my local gun pusher about it. If he could get it, I'd have him order it. Kind of a guilt thing, since I have him transfer so much poop for me (another guilt thing with him was paying full retail for a SureFire 60 mag, at $129 - I kind of owed him that, in a way). Not only could he get it, he had one in the glass case at the shop. I left work and bought it, right then. Now, NOT being a plastic pistol guy, I had NO IDEA how much poop is out there for these things. No idea. These things are WORSE than ARs. I'll have a bunch of stuff on order for this pistol, but right now a Springer Precision trigger kit is in the mail. I'll give that an update when it comes in. Future plans - not too distant future, also - include some tritium sights (probably adjustable rear, and probably Dawson), extended mag release, and Cerakote (two different colors of dirt). It's in a Masters Leather holster right now, but I don't like how it draws from that. The Mernickle is on order (a couple days ago), so I'll have that one in 3 or 4 weeks - and I already know how it will draw from that. Nothing but spectacular holsters. They rock. <thumbsup> These things are ridiculous. I don't really hate it, either, outside of the fact that it's (1) gonna cost me more money, and (2) it won't be my last XD or XDM. Fcuk. This is what 40 rounds of .45ACP looks like. 13rd mag, one in the pipe, 2 spare 13rd mags. I carry this every day now.
  10. KeepShooting makes some decent magazines. They're about the only source out there anymore for brand new manufacture M3 Greasegun mags.
  11. Any '58 through '62 Vette. An original Dodge Power Wagon. 1993 Mazda RX-7 (the Gen 3). I would rip the poop out of this car. I've picked up a few things already, that I've always wanted. 1986 Honda TRX250R, 1998 Honda CR500R, and in a few more weeks, 1989 Kawasaki KX500. <thumbsup>
  12. Mike, I like the flag in the case, brother. I respect that, alot. <thumbsup>
  13. If it is indeed not offered by FA anymore, you could still get it from Criterion Barrels. It might take a little more money to convince them to give it to you, but they are the manufacturer. They still list it: http://criterionbarrels.com/ProductPages/AR10.html
  14. You bastage... :o
  15. There's a fella on here, Rome, that sent a set of gauges all over the country to be used. This wasn't on this board (though, he's here), and it was back in 2010. I was the first person he sent them to, and I sent them on my way to the next guy on the list. They were travelling for quite awhile, almost a year, and hit a hell of alot of states. His username here is "cabinetman," and his first name is Rome. Look him up and send him a PM. <thumbsup>
  16. I'll check next time I see the website open again. <thumbsup> I'd try to call, but I'd feel like a dick not buying anything, and just pimping information. I do need a National Match A2 flash suppressor, so I might risk the call.
  17. You guys are seriously slipping... :cookoo: OP, Fulton Armory makes a stainless 16" rifle gas .308 barrel, medium contour, 1:10 twist. Criterion makes it for them. It'll handle the heavy bullets just fine, is mobile (16" barrel), offers less recoil than other 16" 308 barrels (rifle gas), and can still rock targets at 600 yards easily.
  18. Forward assist works on 308 ARs. It doesn't ratchet the BCG down the upper receiver like the AR-15 does, but it catches the shoulder on the BCG and locks it into battery. It would be the equivalent of the "last click" of a forward assist on the AR-15. It works on all DPMS and Armalite patterned 308s, notches, serrations, smooth doesn't matter. I can't vouch for the RRA guns.
  19. The V-Max. Man, those are one nasty ride... <thumbsup>
  20. The barrel on that Bersa is hosed. As soon as bullets (even one) start stacking against a squib, it bulges the barrel. I hope they never try to fire it again, before barrel replacement. :-[

    A little sad

Same exact sentiment that I was trying to find the words for. <thumbsup>
  22. That's an EASY one, brother! <laughs> (EDIT - Nevermind, I cheated a pimp pic of some .45 ACP into your .45 Colt comment... <lmao> )

    A little sad

That doesn't mean they can't be intercepted. I'm just sayin'... <dontknow>
  24. MagPul made the M93 - it was their first buttstock. The extension/locking design was refined, and ultimately turned into the UBR. MagPul didn't re-release the M93 after they launched the UBR, and they sold the design rights to Ergo, who produces it as the F93. <thumbsup>
  25. poop. I got all excited, thinking they'd have the 5.56 billet upper, too... :(
