  1. 1.91 lbs. 30.56 ounces. Factor in what you'll be taking off, too - you're not adding exactly that much weight.
  2. I love it - was issued the original 1st gen in 2003, and used it in Afghanistan. With a Redi-Mag and a BAD lever, you truly have a match made in heaven. The "cheaper" one you posted is actually the second gen. 1st gen dropped both mags when you hit the rifle's mag release. The "improved" one doesn't drop it's mag when you drop the empty in the rifle - it has it's own mag release. That's a good upgrade, IMHO. Hitting the rifle mag release, and having two mags to deal with at the same time - can be a bad time. Drop one, then drop the other, that's way better, I think (and used both). Now, on the "improved" one, you still have choices - you want the "Quick Attach" version. Trust me on that.
  3. The machined Redi-Mag was born of necessity - Blue Force Gear was modifying standard Redi-Mags, and selling them as the "Redi-Mod." Cut magwell, machined out sections to lighten it, etc. Search "Redi-Mod" and you'll find it. The machined one came from that. I cut up my own Redi-Mag, just for a better view of the rifle's magwell - gotta see what you're hitting with that second mag. <thumbsup> When the paint was new... <laughs>
  4. I've got the cheaper one, and cut it down myself... <thumbsup> Better view of the magwell, that way.
  5. Better hurry, brother - that is on Fukstein's list, too. She wants that one banned. <dontknow>
  6. That is an excellent letter - I wish all the news agencies would air that letter in it's entirety. Let the people know that sentiment, mentality, logic... because that poop makes alot of sense. Common sense. Sheeple have no common sense, and can't see the forest, for the trees...

It was the damn lever gun... Sadly, I don't have one. Now, I need one... :o <laughs>
  8. Probably a civilian version of one of the modular sniper rifles. Good caliber, too. Right now, there's not a huge run on 30-06. It was the only thing available at the local Wal-Mart ammo section the other day... Right now, I'm glad I'm the only guy in town that has one...
  9. Has to be done. I certainly hope others don't have to resort to it, but I understand if they do. Small businesses are going to take it in the arse, straight from the .gov. I don't think this is something that is only going to affect smaller businesses in the firearms industry - it's going to affect everything, in every imaginable industry. As consumers, we're going to be paying ALOT more for everything we need, and everything we do. This is just the beginning.
  10. Wash, that's awesome!!! VERY small world, brother! <thumbsup> <laughs>
  11. ROb, I wish I knew you were hot for that one - I have a really good friend here in town that has one. Retired USBP, now works in one of the local gun shops. He gets all kinds of screamin' deals, routinely. Had I known, we would have been blasting that thing when you were here. <dontknow> Next time. <thumbsup>
  12. It's down again - didn't last long. I honestly didn't keep track of the correct time, but it was about an hour from when I checked it. <thumbsup>
  13. Damn - college guy? You stick around long, and you'll be forced to drop out. The .308 ARs will suck the money outta ya. :o Welcome. <thumbsup>
  14. Only when friends visit at 8am on New Year's Day... ;D <dontknow>
  15. It's up, and active, right now - so, they're taking upper orders and complete rifle orders, right now. <thumbsup> Took me a couple times to get on there, but it went to it.
  16. 1)Your bolt isn't locking the hammer down, and 2) the disconnector isn't catching the hammer once you fire. 1) It won't fire when you pull the trigger, because the hammer already went back up (wasn't caught) 2) You doubled because the disco didn't stop the hammer after you fired, OR... 3) You didn't hold the trigger to the rear, in which the disco would have caught the hammer, and by not doing that, the hammer went forward again (because of #1)... Definitely look at the trigger adjustments first.

    ^^^ <laughs> I just knew Jon was shady... <dontknow>
  18. I'm thinking that trigger needs some adjustment, in a couple different places.

  21. It's there - spin him around! <thumbsup> <laughs>
  22. See my comments in RED.
  23. Greg, I've got Taco Tuesdays here in town, at La Casita. They ain't free, but it's $1 taco night on Taco Tuesdays. Come on down, you know the way here. <thumbsup>
  24. You have to play the waiting game, now, man. It'll show up somewhere, if a ban doesn't come first. Another option you have is searching out used parts. Believe it or not, the ar15.com "Equipment Exchange" is a great source of used parts. There's alot of jackasses in there now gouging people, on an individual level, but that source is there, and it's big. Be careful, but good luck.

What he said. You have the total control over your mind, but we heavily influence that wallet. In a few months, you're going to fully realize that, but don't take it personal, when that moment of "rational clarity" hits. That's how the .308s are. We "enable" you in your endeavor. <thumbsup> <dontknow>
