  1. There will be one going on my 930 SPX. <thumbsup>
  2. I really like this - they allow campers on-site. Hell, I'd drive for a weekend just to camp at a place that's actually a shooting range! <thumbsup>

    Not Cool

It's been proven that they set up Fast & Furious to push further gun control/gun laws - they just got caught before they got everything they wanted. The one that got through that affects us most, Jon, is the reporting of multiple long guns in one transaction. That's law down here, but it's only a law for border states. ^^^ After they got that one through, they got busted. Brian Terry was murdered, and the whole thing blew wide open. It would NOT surprise me that some of the tragic poop going on in the last couple years, is, well... There's more to it than what we'll ever know. Not trying to be paranoid or crazy conspiracy theorist here, but if it smells like poop, then... Search out info on Operation Northwoods.
  4. There are a couple of newer micro red dots out there now - I'll try to dig up some links and info for some of them. The Burris has been around for awhile now (they're on the "FastFire 3" model now), and it's about the best combination of pricing/quality that you'll find. The Trijicon RMR is going to be the one that's the best quality, hands down. I think Drew just picked up one of these as a gift not long ago... <thumbsup>
  5. Especially right now - and probably in the future. I can understand this, from an accuracy-standpoint. I get it. However, from a reliability or longevity standpoint, it doesn't make sense. I'd like to know how this affects the BCG (complete) over a long period of time - what kind of wear you're going to have, and what you'll have to do about it at that point.
  6. seasprite, that's a damn nice looking range. <thumbsup>
  7. Was it fired before this change? Did it work, before the change? Did you get the new gas block lined up right over the gas port in the barrel? - sometimes, if you mount the gas block up against the shoulder of the barrel, and the holes ain't quite right, you'll block gas pressure. Need more answers...

    bedded action

:o It'll work out - what material are you bedding with?
  9. How does it do, in removing a barrel nut? No offense, but I see it breaking/cracking an upper receiver, in the locations noted below (red arrows). Been there, done that, and broke receivers with a setup like that. Only when removing barrel nuts, though. The counter-clockwise stress on the receiver when working a tight barrel nut - it can split an upper right at the front of the ejection port, right down to the bottom of the upper. Have you tried to remove tight barrel nuts with this setup yet? Installing barrel nuts with something like this will be more than adequate.
  10. "Little Afghanistan..." No kidding... <thumbsup>
  11. Primary Arms has a good sale going on, but of note is the Millett DMS-1 scope, and mounting possibilities. Sale ends 14 Jan, at midnight. I have one of these scopes already, on a 16" midlength gas 5.56 gun, with a great barrel. Awesome combo, with the gun and optic. Right now, the scope is on sale for $179. Pick a mount, pick NO mount, whatever. BUT, if a 1-4x scope can fulfill your needs, and you want a GREAT mount for it, they have the American Defense mounts, WITH this scope, for a killer deal. I nailed another one of these scopes, with the ADM Scout Extended scope, for $309 total. Hit it up, if it fits your needs: http://www.primaryarms.com/Millett_1_4_x_24_DMS_Multi_Coat_RedDot_Rifl_p/bk81002.htm?utm_source=constant+contact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=JAN13 MSRP on that scope, from Millet, is $389. Street price is nowhere close to that. MSRP on the mount, from ADM, is $179... If you add that up... <dontknow>
  12. Desert + Hills + Snow. Alot of people can't combine those things together in their minds... <lmao> I'm at 4,600 feet, in town. If you hike around here, you can get up to almost 8,000 feet... :o
  13. The gas key is the same, AR-15 to .308 AR - same part. Manufacturer doesn't matter, because it's a part that should be prduced to the exact same standards, by every manufacturer. SHOULD be. Pick one up from anywhere - keep in mind, reputable companies make sure that they're buying reputable parts, too. Cheap poop is out there. The bolts for the carrier are standardized. Common parts. Stake that thing - stake those bolts in place.
  14. I started 2013 off with a BANG! Literally. Me and Jon, in the desert, making a little Tannerite explode on New Year's Day. Oh, and flushing Border out of their hiding location... <lmao>
  15. A mag full of Barnes 70gr TSX from an AR - those bullets would have expanded, maintained 99% of their weight, and shredded worked like they're supposed to. There wouldn't be anything anyone to prosecute. As it should have been. That fukbag shouldn't have progressed to this point, if he'd been stopped previously, in his past criminal shenanigans. Or, shoot the intruder with a .45. Only because they don't make a .46.
  16. It's pretty fucking sad that there's an "industry" now that advertises to foreign, pregnant women, "Come to the US and have your baby - You get benefits that way." poop needs to change. :gtfo2: Rule #1 - if you come to this country, just to birth, then you're DENIED everything - EVERYTHING - that a US Citizen gets. You're billed for the hospital visit, too, at the astronical, full-value rate that the hospital charges. "Emergencies" don't get validated, either. You bought it. Rule #2 - if you came here, with the intentions of having a baby in this country, FOR the reason of gaining privileges, then you're charged in a court of law, for fraud. YOU pay the prosecuting and defending attorney fees, too. All of them. Rule #3 - if you fit the above categories, then the US State Department gets you on file, as well as US Citizens and Immigrations Services (USCIS), and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). You have a permanent record. You'll never get in here again, not even on a student VISA or visitation VISA. :gtfo2: Like AIDS, that poop needs to be forever.
  17. I'll comment more on this tomorrow. It's just damn sad.
  18. We are swirling at the bottom of the bowl, and the last of the water is ready to take us right down the tube...
  19. Red dots and holographic sights are two completely different things. They both still have red sighting in the glass, but the one thing that sets a holo sight apart is - with cracked glass, or a bullethole right through the middle of it, if there's something there to project the holograph onto, it's still going to work. Not the same with a red dot. Plenty of red dots out there, brother shepp. Look at the stuff from Burris - the Fast Fire varients, and their mounting systems. They have great stuff for shotgun mounting. <thumbsup> This is the "Speedbead" mounting setup:
  20. Just means they made the shipping label, paid the shipping fees - and don't have it picked up yet. At least you're in the line for them to make a shipping label, brother. <thumbsup>
  21. I had completely forgotten that part of it - until now... <lmao> <laughs> I agree - I love this place. I cringe at the thought that most of the stuff that comes up as questionable... has something to do with me, in some way. Usually, directly... :-[ I have a hard time holding my tongue, sometimes. <dontknow>
  22. I'm still patiently waiting on a custom set of grips for my Desert Warrior - and the gripmaker has my Desert Warrior... He's had it since the middle of October... :-[
  23. From what was stated in that article - minus the mag-cap restrictions - that's nothing new. They NEED to look at the mental health poop, but for firearms, we're all aready doing the poop they're "proposing." Fukc them. If they shove this poop down the American public's throat as an Executive Order, then the entire presidency has bypassed the Constitutional intent completely - They have poop directly on the Constitution. This is NOT what this country is supposed to do... Sickening.
  24. Jon, I can't even IMAGINE that you'd recommend a Choate extended tube. That's the same tube that comes on the Moss 930SPX. Don't you know how weak those are, and how easily they dent/jam/fail?... poop, they dent when you LOOK at them... I say that in jest - it's a joke. Nordic Components hasn't had my Moss 930SPX extension in stock... for about a year and a half. Some time ago, on this board, the weakness of the Choate tube was HELL-RAISED by a guy, and I tore his ass up. It was pretty damn good for a minute. I got my junk smashed for that one... :o <dontknow> For those looking - the Choate will work out fine. I still run my Choate extension, to this day. <thumbsup> If NC ever gets my extension made, I'll upgrade to it, but that's the sickness of "upgrading." The NC has an additional advantage over the Choate, and that was what I was looking for - unscrew the endcap and download the tube. Buy the Choate fear-free - it gets more rounds in the tube, and that's the goal. (My weak Choate tube still doesn't have any dents in it, either - I hope that guy comes back and reads this...)
  25. Absolutely. This is very, very sad news...
