  1. Stay away from Herter's steel-cased .223 Rem ammo - that weakass poop won't cycle the action in an AR. Might run fine in a bolt, dunno... <dontknow>
  2. I agree, Matt. Here's another piece of the puzzle - that BCG is moving way too fast. Could be a weak/incorrect buffer spring, too light of a buffer, or overgassed. It shouldn't be denting cases. <dontknow>

^^^ Most impressive Bird of Prey in existance. Spent a little time in Alaska. Elmendorf AFB has a wounded-eagle aviary on base. You can get out, walk up, and look at the Eagles. It's an eye opener when you walk up, and there's one on the other side of the wire, and he comes up to your waist... It's something you don't think about when you see them in the air - they're pretty damn huge, and could rip you apart with little effort. Incredible creatures. <thumbsup>
  4. Brother, don't put it together, then shoot paint over the pins, bolt catch, mag release, etc. It would be a PITA to disassemble with that poop locking everything together. It's never a problem to slam it together, shoot it in a little, then rip everything down for paint later - that's exactly what I'm doing with the 14.5" I was sighting in on New Year's Day, brother. Meant to rip it apart and paint it yesterday, but my day got ruined when I had to go to the school and talk to the HMFICs about my kid getting in a fight... <dontknow>
  5. If it's the first 308 the guy has built, look at the bolt catch first (make sure it's not the AR-15 part), then the buffer, and then buffer spring.
  6. So, one big disjointed effort. 19 Jan, 8 Feb, whenever someone else decides to name a date, and make a video to announce it. We, collectively, need to get our poop together. <thumbsup> (Not the members of this board - the 2A community, as a whole)
  7. When the magazine ban goes through, they'll be stuck explaining to customers that they're not going to receive their backordered Pmag 30s. They don't want the responsibility... <dontknow>
  8. Yup. ONE MILLION. At $15 per, average price, that's $15,000,000 sitting there. <thumbsup> http://cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-gwyn-williams-jr/panic-one-million-ar-15-magazines-backorder
  9. You just got that Stag upper - that would be perfect to run it on and check it out. <thumbsup>
  10. Depends on the car. And more info... ;D
  11. How in the HELL did we get here, from Pink AR 30rd mags?!... <dontknow> <lmao>
  12. One hell of a great barrel, man. I've got that on one of mine. Fantasticly accurate. <thumbsup>
  13. You'll need a barrel nut to affix ot to the upper receiver. If you're running some kind of rail assembly or free-float handguard, they usually come with their own barrel nut. For the muzzel device, crush washer, peel washer, they both work. Crush washer is most-of-the-time easier. make sure it's for a .308 AR, and not the 5.56 AR-15 piece.
  14. That's right! I damn sure don't having anybody calling me "Baldi-Locks"... <lmao>
  15. The kids that turn out all fucked up are the ones that have parents that "don't believe in that abuse," and they're also the parents that would call the CPS on you if you HAD to whoop your own kid's ass right then and now, in a grocery store. We're not breeding the fucked up ones, guys - but there are too many out there that are. In most cases, not only does the kid need a severe ass-beatin', but that parent (or both parents) need that same ass-beatin' too. They need knocked around pretty damn hard. Candy-asses are the ones fundamentally wrecking this country, from the inside out. I still volunteer. Pick me. <thumbsup>
  16. That's only so the rifle blends in, and nobody can really see where to aim, to shoot me in the mellon. Dual-part camo... :-[
  17. I cannot lie - the grey has taken over. I will not fight it, as it is more powerful than I... <dontknow> :o <laughs>
  18. Ass Whoopin's stopped in this country - and guess what? Things went to poop. Parents don't raise their damn children anymore - they expect the schools to do it. Pu$$y parents complained when their punk-ass kids took the damn paddle in school, and THAT stopped. Where we at now? I GUARANTEE you all, this right here: Start whipping the poop out of punk-ass kids in schools, and this country will be MUCH better off. It WILL startt to turn around, and IMMEDIATELY, it will start to turn around. Just watch. I think if you WHIP THAT ASS in the gymnasium, in front of the WHOLE SCHOOL - it'll start to turn around faster. <thumbsup> "Tough kids" and "Gang kids" and whatever else - Whip that ass, IN school. They need to realize pretty damn fast that they are NOT in charge, and they are NOT the ones making the decisions. I volunteer. I'll start it all, in the first school that someone can find for me. I don't even care if it's in some poop-hole inner city. I've already volunteered in all the schools my kid has been in, and they're too gay to take me up on the offer. In fact, I was at the school today for some poop, and I told the lady my kid was getting his ass whipped if what she said was true. What she said was true, too. :bitchslap:
  19. For CT... SWORDS... Bigass, GIANT SWORDS. Painted black, pink (anti-violence Stelth Mode, there), whatever. Claymores. For everyone in CT. <thumbsup>
  20. If it's the 9th, then you have to blame Jon, for that fucked up flyer he posted way up there... ^^^ <lmao> That flyer says it's the 8th... <thumbsup>
  21. Drew is the President of that club - just ask him about it... <laughs> <lmao> That's not a bad situation to be in, brother, all things considered. <thumbsup>
  22. Matt, that's the one that's getting the Cerakote "Sniper Gray" paint... The build of the Haley/Bravo Company "Jack" rifle... So - I'm going to strip the light down and paint it - should I paint the ADM scope mount? Or the scope, too? Right now, the upper, lower, and rail will get painted. Thinking of painting the receiver extension, too. The light body and scope mount are up in the air. <dontknow>
  23. Branded by PA, and chinese made. PA pays for the extra QC steps at the factory, and gets some pretty quality stuff. You might find something similar in looks and specs, from other companies - but the specs are weaker and the QC steps in them don't exist. The PA stuff is really better than "the same thing I saw on Gun Broker" or "...at my local gun show..." Don't worry about the stuff you find or buy from PA - it's good, and it's got a link back to someone to talk to if something should go wrong with it - Marshall is a stand-up guy and backs what he sells. <thumbsup> I think I have five of the micro-red dot setups from him now, going all the way back to 2010. I haven't been able to kill one of them yet, and one is on the GSR .308 bolt gun. The product stands up.
  24. That was a prank-gone-wrong, right there. T-Day weekend, 2006. Get back from a night ride on Saturday night, grab a beer, take off riding boots, head to the campfire. I'm not even talking FIVE MINUTES from when we got back, and DNP is on me at the fire, saying "What do you think about your new mods to your bike?" and showing me the view-finder in his camera... My reaction was "When the hell did THAT happen?!" His response was "Don't think it's NOT like that RIGHT NOW..." They got me. As soon as we got back from that night ride, they zip-tied that poop all over my bike. Hmmm... What to do? We're here for another day, so I'll leave it on there, and ROCK IT for the full day of riding that we have left - everybody will be looking at me... And all you guys are riding with me, too. THEY had to suffer the looks... I didn't care, but everyone thought THEY were freaks for riding with someone that would have that poop on their bike... <thumbsup> <lmao> <laughs>
  25. Same thing I thought - I was deployed at the time, and the kid was with the ex, in Cali. When I got back, that was what I was told, and he was already on meds - and hadn't even seen a real Doc yet. I went to the best Doc I could find in the PNW, and damn,... the poop was true. He was AD/HD by a WIDE MARGINE. The nurse in Cali called it, but she was the only one involved in the initial diagnosis and the med prescription - THAT was bullpoopy! Here's another aspect that shepp brought up about this conversation, in another thread:
