  1. Just make sure you pick/spec the DPMS-compatible LITE rail setup - it's barrel nut will fit your upper. The Armalite-compatible LITE will come with a barrel nut that definitely WON'T work on your upper. <thumbsup>
  2. Anything I can do to help, brother wash, anything at all... <thumbsup> <laughs>
  3. SPBCTS, don't get the Jack rifle wrong, just based on what's said here - that is a very, very high quality rifle that is backed by a couple very important things - Travis Haley is the one that spec'd the parts. Bravo Company and Geissele are the two main component companies, and those are of the very highest quality in components. Now, both those companies also have guarantees on their parts that are rivaled by very few other companies, and their customer service is also top-notch. Now, with a combination like that, it's definitely a rifle that you never have to worry about "breaking," and if something could/should happen to go wrong with it, the problem will be handled in rapid fashion. The price is up there, in LaRue territory, quite honestly. It's a little steep. At this time, parts are kinda hard to find, to make matters even more complicated. I'll build this rifle with a couple changes, but those are parts that I prefer to have on my rifles. I can build it a little cheaper than the listed price, with the few other parts that I like to shoot with. I won't build it at any lesser quality than it's at in it's current offering, and some parts I use will be better than what it's coming with. I'll just have to see how it all turns out. I did locate a Cerakote color that's pretty damn similar, too. <thumbsup>
  4. <laughs> <lmao>
  5. Have you researched what you can and cannot do in Kalifornia? That's GOTTA be the first step here, man. This is your intro thread - fire off technical questions in one of the tech sections. Welcome aboard. <thumbsup>
  6. Goes great with the mozza I'd sprinkle all over her. <thumbsup>
  7. No, but prior to final torque of all parts, and WAY before firing, I will anoint the rifle thoroughly with "Costa Beard." <thumbsup> ;D
  8. I already have a stripped upper and lower, built, with Gunfighter charging handle. It doesn't have a trigger assembly, or a BCG (pic of the starting-point parts at the bottom of this post). I'll use the Geissele ACT and BCM BCG, as per the spec. Those are included in my parts list. My parts list comes to $1,199.30. That doesn't include shipping of said parts, it doesn't include "Disruptive Grey" Cerakote, and it doesn't include a light setup - I'll use my preferred light setup if I can't find this specific light. Cheaper? Hell yeah, it will be. Some of my parts that I've picked are a little bit better, too. We'll see how this turns out, because I'm doing it. Pic of what I've already got on-hand is below:
  9. Working on a parts list right now. Adding parts to cart. <thumbsup>
  10. What Greg posted was kinda what I had in mind - with the lump of coal in the middle of the bag, so she sprains her ankle when she's stomping it out. <thumbsup>
  11. Just look for any rail that mates up with the newer style DPMS flat-top .308 upper, and you'll be set. Daniel Defense does make the LITE in that configuration. Troy also makes rails for it. You'd be very, very hard-pressed to find a better, stronger rail system than the DD LITE setup anyway. <thumbsup>
  12. It'll for sure be 10lbs of poop stuffed in a 5lb bag, brother. ;D
  13. I'm getting my ex a lump of coal and a bag of reindeer poop. <thumbsup>
  14. <lmao> I'll try to gather them all up and take a family photo... :o ;D
  15. See, you guys just thought I was here for my devilish good looks... <dontknow>
  16. That first rail you linked is indeed an AR-15 part, not a .308 AR part. Doesn't matter what you received in error, because you ordered an AR-15 part to begin with. Black Rain does make a .308 AR rail that will fit their receivers. Many people make rails that will fit their receivers. You should probably start with Mark's Armory, and see if they even have the .308 AR BRO rails. Phone call to them would probably clear it all up, and get a return authorized. Where to go from there depends on what they tell you.
  17. I'm gonna build a replica of this rifle, and see how much it'll cost me. Just because. <thumbsup>
  18. Great analogy. <thumbsup>
  19. I still don't understand what part (rail) you received, and what upper you have, with regards to rail heights. DPMS is the only one that does that kinda poop, with different receiver heights. Unless Black Rain is doing it, too.
  20. Pop your collapsible stock off and look at the end of the receiver extension - should have a vent hole in it. Rifle-length receiver extension have a screw going into the back of them, centered - the screw is vented. <thumbsup>

    Arizona Guys!!!

AZ guys, get in here. The shoot is this Sat and Sun, and I have 21 pre-registrations, which will probably be 30 or 40 on the firing line, once you count the walk-ons. Come on, fellas!!!
  22. Yes, it'll work. <thumbsup>
  23. Not possible. Might even be "unpossible."
  24. I'm confused, dude. Is Black Rain doing something stupid, following in the footsteps of DPMS here? I think you need to call them and see what's going on. You do have their upper, correct?
  25. I'm stoked, brother! VERY!!! <thumbsup> ;D
