  1. There's a Burris MTAC, also, around $400. I've been looking at these for awhile now... I'm afraid if I find a great deal on a 1-6 scope, it's gonna get a new rifle built around it... :o <lmao>
  2. Have you looked at any of the 1-6 scopes out there now? They're pretty pricey, but get out to 6x and are smaller than most "normal" scopes. <thumbsup>
  3. Hit up these guys - lots of info on their website. The benefits of cryo treatment are pretty widely used, in lots of applications. Firearms barrels are no exception. http://www.300below.com/ ^^^ They're one of the best in the country.
  4. Damn! That's awesome, man! I remember seeing a vid on V8 TV about a 2,000 Hp Pontiac engine that he built... :o Now he's got one that's over 2,800 Hp... Nuts...
  5. wash, that is such a nice receiver set, man - that looks great with the 16" barrel. <thumbsup>
  6. Awesome! Welcome aboard, man. <thumbsup>
  7. Jon, I haven't seen the Monarch Gold yet - that's some serious adjustment! :o Wash, you hit those scopes for some damn good prices, too! <thumbsup>
  8. Good luck. <thumbsup>
  9. Drew screwed me on this one a long time ago - but nobody new about the newest round... Damn you, Drew, with the foresight. :thefinger: http://www.sako.fi/sako_trg_m10.php
  10. Yes, it's out there, somewhere, and I need to know about it. If anyone can scourge the 'net and find out more, I'd be greatly appreciative. Found out about it from the new issue of Tactical Weapons, and they're testing the new Sako TRG M10. They talk about the .338 "Super" Lapua Magnum, and the overall length of the round is 4". The standard .338 Lapua Magnum overall length is 3.68". The new Sako TRG M10 is made to handle the newer Super Lapua Magnum. As well as "standard" .338 LM, .300 WinMag, .308 Win. I'm finally sold. :o
  11. ^^^ I'm with him. AZ desert. Picked up brass, not processed - baggie, like plastic grocery bag. Tumbled brass, 1 gallon Ziplock freezer bags. I get to it when I can, after that. 5.56 brass, tumbled:
  12. Spent 12 years there, total. Left before it was a "Joint Base." What unit?
  13. Rob, what did I tell you about shooting?... http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=7706
  14. People need the insert to make it fit flush on the AR-10. Not on a DPMS. Different Games...
  15. Rob, we just :threadjack: another one... <lmao>
  16. Got it already, brother. Done. It's not a 0.036" rear peep, but it's a 0.040" rear peep. That was on the original build, and that poop ain't cheap. :o Check out how skinny that front sight post is... <lmao> Remember Clint Eastwood, in "Heartbreak Ridge..." "I can put a round through a flea's ass at 200 yards..." That's not an unreal expectation, brother. <thumbsup> You might LIKE this rifle. BADLY. <laughs> <lmao>
  17. Using a PRI .936 lo-profile gas block. Non-adjustable. It's a damn great barrel. I'll try to find some pics of targets (they're all posted here, at any rate, somewhere). EDIT - Details, and initial target results, are in this thread: http://308ar.com/forum/dpms-lr-308-general-technical-discussion/lr308-self-build/msg616/#msg616
  18. Don't do it, brother, I'm just sayin'... If you shoot it, it's only gonna cost you money, in the long run. You'll shoot it, and love it - then you'll HATE it afterwards... :o <laughs> <lmao> (I'm on Fulton Armory RIGHT NOW, buying poop to finish this thing, that I forgot about doing - it's a CURSE... :o)
  19. Due to recent events, I scratch my previous endorsement... <laughs> <lmao>
  20. Sticker shock, brother. <dontknow> "I can build that over the next few years, piece at a time" - that's the mentality of prospective buyers now, when faced with a high pricetag. What they're not looking at is... in the next few years, none of this stuff may be legal, or available. :o Maybe post pics of the trigger-pull gauge. Don't know... <dontknow>
  21. I've got answers... <dontknow>
  22. Wash, there are three (3) of those - which ones did you get? 8-32x50ED SF (fine crosshair w/ dot) 8-32x50ED SF (Nikoplex) 8-32x50ED SF (BDC) I can tell you that max internal adjustment on all three of those is 20MOA. On the M-308, you get the hash marks out to 800, and max internal adjustment is 40MOA. Combine that with a 20MOA rail or scope mounts, and you've far out-distanced those Monarchs that are available, for this platform. <thumbsup>
  23. Feds do what they want, and condemn others for doing the same as them. In this case, they've been up the AZ governments ASS about controlling illegal immigration - citing "Ask them if they're here legally" as "Racial Profiling." Feds say it's not nice to ask them that. But they can turn aroung THIS JULY and change the 4473 to ask something similar, in a VERY racial way - you are, or you are not, Hispanic or Latino - that's the lead in the 10. field... Fuckin' hipocrites in government, but I expect nothing less. Click that down there, and blow it up... vvv
  24. What's your maximum range, in the hunt? Makes a BIG difference in recommendations.
  25. ^^^ Good poop - right on the money. <thumbsup>
