Pics don't even do it justice, my brother. Not even close. ;D

Alright, I DO have wood. <thumbsup> Very, very, VERY nice craftsmanship, fabulous finish, very nicely done. I couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend this company to anybody that is looking for high quality furniture such as this. Precision Firearms is the name of the place, and if you call them, ask for Mark Hostetter. He'll probably be the one that answers the phone anyway, but if he doesn't, then ask for him. Great guy to talk to. <thumbsup> This is going to be one fantastic rifle when it's finished. I don't have everything I need, but I do have a sweet parts list set up for this one. It's going to be damn nice. On to the wood, now... <laughs>

Yeah, that needs to be reiterated. Now, here's what people need to understand - just due to the rules in the contest, and the 5-post minimum limit, that doesn't mean people need to sign up, then flood the board with posts, just for a crack at this month's prize. Join, contribute, and enter next month. Basically, it's like this - if you didn't already have 5 posts by the time this contest was announced, then you don't meet the minimum criteria. Not trying to discourage anyone, but making it fair for those that were here, and contributing, when the contest was announced. That's pretty clear now, or should be. Now, outside of the rules that Drew established, I'll clarify one other thing - very first reply in this thread was from me, giving Drew some grief - that's what I do. What I posted was "Bonus points for color match?" I did use a question mark at the end of that phrase. What I posted was not an addendum to any rule that he already established. Hopefully, that's clear now.

The Docter mini red dot. I'm not sure of any others. Those are about it. EDIT - forgot, and I've actually been reading about this one. The Insight MRDS.

I was after a Burris FF II for awhile, but for the ARs. I know that they make specific mounts for handguns, but I'm not exactly sure how they mount. What I was after for them was the Pic mount bases, and some of those have "protective wings" on them to guard the sight. Yes, not kidding... <laughs>

That, highlighted in red, was what I caught right away. I had to read your post two or three times to get everything, because that statement kept distracting me. That is something that they have had a problem with for a long time. Since introduction, really.

Tell you guys what - with the only real offering out there for a semi .338 LM being the Bad News... I just wasn't liking that one. I was honestly looking for the bolt guns, and the 98B was the one I was really after. Now... if these guys can pull off that .338 LM semi and have it looking like this .308 here, then my defenses will not be able to resist... <dontknow> :o <thumbsup>

Damn, AL - I'm seeing 40 rounds breaking the silhouette, all hits. :o Damn good stuff! <thumbsup> I will not lie to you, brother, I'm envious as all hell... <lmao>
-
Lemme guess - he'd been scouting, so he scheduled you for work on opening weekend... <dontknow> <laughs>

They don't have that .338 ready yet, brother. I'll honestly be watching for it, now that I've seen the .308. They really did make the thing just like their computer-generated graphics. :o ;D
-
<lmao> I set you up, and the trap worked! ;D

The Young NM BCG and the BADASS are two items that are at the top of the list, man... <thumbsup> ;D

I should have my wood tomorrow sometime, and I'm into lower receiver parts for about $275 now. That still doesn't include the safety, but does include the Armalite rifle receiver extension. I went with the Geissele SSA-E trigger, KNS Precision "turned lower receiver pin kit," all Armalite springs (and bolt catch, mag release, and button). Still need to source a few more small parts, probably from Brownells. Haven't ordered anything for the upper yet, but that'll happen soon enough. I'll get pics up of my wood tomorrow night sometime, and I should have a complete lower ready to go by mid-week.

That's exactly why I don't have the MS2, and do have the BDS Tactical. No kidding. Used the MS2 one single time, and the tubing is too narrow for me. After a full day of having the rifle on you, it starts to cut into you. The BDS has 1 1/2" wide material, and it distributes the weight on you a hell of alot better, over time.

They really did a great job on the appearance of that rifle. If the .338 is really going to look like that, it will be worth watching out for. I saved all 28 pics out of the GB auction - I'll get them up in here in a little while. Hell with it, I'll do it now... <dontknow>

Troy TRX extreme, and an adjustable .936 gas block under the rail????
98Z5V replied to Horsemen's topic in .308AR Parts
The only one I know for sure that will clear is the PRI. Their .936 cleared a TRX on an AR-15 build I did, and I think that TRX is ever-so-slightly slimmer in diameter than the .308 TRX. It'll go. Comes with it's own gas tube, but you might have to call them to get the correct length: http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186815&CAT=4274 -
A way to attach both, IMHO. Good convertible sling will have you smiling. This one is my favorite, either padded or not. http://www.bdstacticalgear.com/pd_bds_tactical_dual_sling.cfm http://www.bdstacticalgear.com/pd-bds-enhanced-dual-sling.cfm

Yep, downloaded the catalog and saw that one on the first few pages - looks really good, and the price is right.
