  1. ^^^ Glad to see some people saying this kinda stuff - other sites linking or mentioning this site. That's pretty cool, right there. The word is spreading. <thumbsup>
  2. This place might be a little bad for the "dabbling." I'm just sayin'... <lmao> Welcome, man... <thumbsup>
  3. Welcome to the fray, Ivan - make yourself at home. We're kinda casual here... ;D
  4. I like it alot - holds zero so far (around 1k rounds on it), brightness level adjustment is good for just about any light (dim, bright, all of it), and it doesn't cost a ton. The one pictured is the red/green dot (selectable), with 4 different reticles. I liked it enough to pick up another one, but one cheaper level down - still 4 reticles, but red dot only. It's working just as well as the first one, but the round count is much less. <thumbsup>
  5. Right on, Ed - that's the attitude!!! <thumbsup> <lmao>
  6. I can see the pic - might be loading a little slow, though. Good lookin' boomstick. <thumbsup>
  7. Welcome aboard, Chuck! Build away, brother! <thumbsup>
  8. Noveske Rifle Works makes some of the finest, most accurate Armalite .308 barrels out there. <thumbsup>
  9. Pelosi would be "what's for dinner..." <lmao> <laughs>

<lmao> Ain't that the truth!!! <thumbsup> Drew, that's one FINE lookin' piece of hardware you linked up, man!!! OOOOOH! :o
  11. That's pretty damn cool, right there... <thumbsup>
  12. Oh Lordy, they didn't call it the Massoud, did they?!... :(
  13. Do those barrels use a tapered gas block? Can you get measurements for us? For some reason, I remember reading something about tapered gas blocks on those barrels. If you can measure at the shoulder, then about one inch forward, that should be good enough to see.
  14. On the 5.56 stuff from them, I think you can only get a stripped billet lower if you buy it with an already-built Stealth upper assembly. Not sure about the .308 lowers. <dontknow>
  15. Oooooooooh yeah... :o Parts, just laying around... don't take long to turn into complete rifles. Don't even have to add water... <laughs> Piston 6.8 is gonna be pretty sweet! <thumbsup>
  16. 6.8 build?... <dontknow> Need more info - like the info you've been holding out, man... :o <munch>
  17. Yeah, you'll be screwed brother - badly. I know you've got the hots for the Mega Monolithic upper out there for the 5.56 stuff... ;D They're doing the Monolithic upper for the .308, too. Announced, on Facebook, but nothing other "official" yet. That 5.56 Monolithic gave you a hard time, so I know the .308 Monolithic will crush your will to spend... <lmao> <laughs> That's called Karma, man... <thumbsup> <munch> <lmao>
  18. The gas tube isn't going to have anything to do with accuracy, unless... You can run it too short (think carbine gas tube length in a 20" barrel), and have the rifle cycling extemely hard. That would have the bolt unlocking very, very fast, and it would kick like crazy (which would wipe out chances of accurate follow-up shots). In addition, cycling that hard will affect the life of the moving/interfacing hard parts. It's pretty important on the AR-15s, but the .308s will cycle just about any combination. I'd go as long as you can on the gas tube length (rifle-length tube), and have it shooting as soft as possible. Even then, you might be needing a heavy buffer, or Tubb's CWS, in order to soften it up as much as you can. If you can give your bolt the longest lock time possible, that'll have the greatest effect on follow-up shot accuracy. Mechanical accuracy of the weapon will depend on other things.
  19. Mega Machine got into the .308 world, and this is one nice looking set they've got. Haven't seen anything available yet, but it won't take long. <thumbsup> Very nicely done, looking like the uppers will be AR-10 compatible, and the lowers accept DPMS-style mags. Cool. LaRue OBR and KAC M110 compatible...
  20. Very cool, Drew. <thumbsup> I love shooting .22 out of the ARs. I can afford to stay at the range ALL day long that way... <lmao>
  21. Jgun, that is a fine looking piece of hardware, man. Nice job on it. <thumbsup>
  22. I'm working on that one, man... <lmao> My next trigger will be a Wilson Combat drop-in unit, going into my 14.5" 5.56 gun. Been wanting to try one of those out for awhile now, and that's the perfect gun for it.
  23. Picked up mine from FA; very happy with it. Cheaper through Fulton (than DPMS) by far, when you compare it to the listed DPMS price. It is a DPMS factory part that Fulton sells. <thumbsup>
  24. The entire bolt carrier group of either flavor (DPMS or Armalite) will fit in any upper receiver, and run. I've seen reports from guys that just changed out their barrel from one to the other design, and not had problems. I've also seen reports from people that had problems running DPMS and Armalite parts together (barrels and bolts; example, just putting a DPMS barrel on a complete Armalite rifle). The best thing do do is keep those "meshing" parts together, because you can mount the barrels to the upper receivers without problems. I've never (myself) seen any reports from people on the precision measurements of the two styles of bolts or barrel extensions - it might be out there in the web somewhere, but I haven't found it myself.
  25. Match the barrel extension to the bolt, i.e., DPMS barrel (and barrel extension), then run a DPMS bolt. Armatlite barrel, Armalite bolt. <thumbsup>
