Won't be the last, either...

I started 20 years ago. For reloading components. It's never too late, and it's always too late... Depends on what side of the fence you're on...
-
Welcome aboard, man. Chino runs one of the very best Appleseed Shoots that there is. Go get in on that. It's valuable, even if you're already a military sniper.
-
There are already several thousands fighting this...
-
Interested in how this works out, Elmer. Welcome aboard by the way. There isn't a gun out there that can out-think us, and with good info - like you gave - we can make them run.

Numbers are a little off, but... Buffer weight is right, buffer length should be 5.200" for a rifle buffer in a .308AR. Let it ride, let's see what happens. Internal depth on the receiver extension should be 9 11/16", not 9 3/4", but let's see what happens - they made the buffer too long, and made the extension deeper? To account for that? Again, let's see what happens here. For the spring, with everything else looking "close enough", then just buy the REAL Armalite EA-1095 spring, OR the Sprinco Red spring, and run the gun. After you drill that gas port diameter up. Besides that gas port diameter, the spring is your only questionable part. Don't let that thing slide, go quality, and do it right. EA-1095 or Sprinco Red. Run that MF'er WIDE OPEN until you get this gun figured out. Otherwise, you're just fucking yourself if you try to run it closed down. Max it out. Test the gun. Dial it down later, after the gun functions.

This is how it always starts here... No offense, but 80s SUCK if you don't get the matching upper for them. At any rate, I've pinpointed the first problem... That gas port diameter isn't right. For an 18" midlength gas gun, you WILL NEED 0.080"~0.085" of gas port diameter, or it's NEVER gonna run right. I haven't read the rest of your first post yet, to see what you're running for a recoil system, or if your gas tube is even correct length, but I'l get to that. You need to fix the gas port diameter in that barrel, very first. I'll check back later, after I read the rest of your first post.

FUKKIN' 9th CIRCUS!!! Published 6 hours ago https://www.foxnews.com/politics/californias-regulations-on-high-capacity-gun-magazines-upheld-by-appeals-court# California high-capacity gun magazine ban upheld by federal appeals court Three Trump-appointed judges dissented By Andrew Mark Miller | Fox News A federal appeals court handed California Gov. Gavin Newsom a victory Tuesday, upholding a ban on high-capacity ammunition gun magazines. The 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, in a divided 7-4 ruling, wrote that the ammunition ban is "a reasonable fit for the important government interest of reducing gun violence." "The statute outlaws no weapon, but only limits the size of the magazine that may be used with firearms, and the record demonstrates (a) that the limitation interferes only minimally with the core right of self-defense, as there is no evidence that anyone ever has been unable to defend his or her home and family due to the lack of a large-capacity magazine," the ruling states. The ruling upholds SB 1446 and Proposition 63, both enacted in 2016, that were implemented in response to mass shootings. Newsom called the ruling a "huge victory." The en banc panel of the San Francisco-based court acted after two of three judges on a smaller 9th Circuit panel last year ruled that the state’s ban on magazines holding more than 10 bullets violates the Constitution’s protection of the right to bear firearms. Seven judges on the 11-member 9th Circuit panel were appointed by Democratic presidents. Three Trump-appointed judges dissented in the ruling and argued "these magazines are lawfully owned by millions of people nationwide," adding that if a similar law was enacted in every state it would "require confiscating half of all existing firearms magazines in this country."

Tough call, but I really want that MRAD bolt gun. Years and years ago, I had a great deal on a Barrett 98B gun, grand off retail... and 2012 happened. I got my downpayment back and bought 3 more guns instead. That thing has been haunting me ever since, and I need one in my life...
-
For the coin I'd spend on that, I'll buy a Barrett MRAD in .338 Lapua Mag first. Once I've got the MRAD, I'll spring for the Noreen .300 Win Mag AR. First, I need about 25 suppressors, though... We had a .300 Win Mag AR out there, but I can't remember if it was the Noreen or Nemo. It wasn't running well, needs work. It's a local buddy, and he's not listening to advice on how to get it running. He was also shooting 150gr projectiles towards the mile target, and those things just cannot get it done. They'd get about 2/3rds of the way there, and just dirt-pile.

Nope, not me. Between Rene and Ron... I don't know which one is the waterhead and which one is the bus driver... @Rsquared @unforgiven ... You guys know you. You better get the fuk in here and back me up on your waterhead and shortbus shiit - or I'm doomed. -
12 years in the PNW. I LOVE spotted owl over a campfire at night. Nothing beats it...

Sounds like the shiit we're going through here, but we have a gasoline problem - and you have a Maple Syrup problem...

You had no initial clue, that when I talked you into this, that... I was bringing you STRAIGHT into the crowd of ALL the Window Lickers in the back of this bus... I'm sorry for not telling you ahead of time. My bad. 🥰 -
That's already a light load, meant for longer barrels, so it's gonna be short on power for a pistol build, man. That's designed as a Varminter round from an 18" or longer gun, but really designed for even longer Varmint barrels, 22" to 24". If you really want that thing to work in your short gun, then we need to up the gas port diameter - or seriously play with the recoil system. Changing the gas port diameter is permanent. Playing with the recoil system isn't. You can come up with a recoil system that will work those light guys, and only use it when you want to run them. I'm in for playing with this, and making it work.

It's just a pretty chicken...

@ARTrooper -I forgot that Al brought this up again, and we got it pinned...
-
No joke, brother - that was wild. So, do the other turkeys think they're really all peacocks? Or does that peacock think it's a turkey?...
-
That's the prettiest turkey I've ever seen!...

This makes me happy.
