  1. Done deal. It's over. "ANY firearm suppressor MADE in Texas and STAYS in Texas, will NOT BE SUBJECT to Federal Law, or Federal Regulations." Go smack 9:35 in this vid that I linked in this thread... Congrats, Tejas... I hope the AZ Gov Ducey quickly follows suit - because he cannot think on his own, and lead on his own - he's a Follower... I hope he follows this, on his way out of office... Texas has done WELL, and you certainly do have a BADASS GOVERNOR.
  2. Indeed, they did. Passed 7 new gun laws, with exponentials, which is 17 new gun FREEDOM laws. I'm not a Texan, but God BLESS Texas!!! Suppressors are REAL in Texas! Watch it go down...

Indeed, brother... We're gettin' into some Jameson...
  4. You motherfuckers are too much!!! I actually like that... @shepp, the Noco stuff is BAD ASS!!! For the last 10 years or so, they've completely ruled the market on small and multi-charger units (think "Battery Tender"). Their jump boxes are pretty damn sweet. When the current Matco box that I have dies on me, the next is one of those, brother.
  5. Most cheap .308AR kits that you get out there are not overgassed, at all - they're UNDER-RECOILED from the factory, primarily to save money on buffer weight in a short-ass 2.500" buffer, because the cheap companies run AR15 carbine receiver extensions, and making those 2.500" buffers into something that weighs 5.4oz takes... YES! You guessed it... $$$. Too many people on the internet gun boards confuse "OverGASSED" with a condition that's actually "WAY UNDER-RECOILED..." Not enough ASS in that recoil system to control the MASS of the .308 Win round, and heavier weight of a .308AR BCG - in motion. AR15 buffers - and AR15 buffer weights - and never gonna be able to do it. Not unless you're building a Race Gun, with a specific custom handload, directly for your Race Gun Competition... Those parts do not make a reliable gun,for any ammunition that you can find, and shoot. Cheap guns are just that... cut every corner, to get the lowest-priced .308AR into the hands of "every guy" that shoots cheap ammo, most of the time - and it works "most of the time, for most of the people, and the cheapest ammo..." Budget Manufacturers target Budget People. That doesn't mean the gun runs will ALL ammo ALL the time... Pick your side of the fence. Want a RELIABLE GUN?... Build the way I've found out, for the last decade. That's not gonna be the CHEAPEST gun, though. I've proven it, time and time again.
  6. 1st comment in red - Since the M4A1. 14.5" carbine gassed full auto .mil SOF gun. Came with a 3.0oz standard Carbine buffer. For a "reliability improvement program" we sent all our guns into the Unit Armorers, and they upgraded our buffers to H1 (3.8oz buffers) and gave us a brand new recoil spring. So... that's just to control a full auto 14.5" carbine gassed 5.56 gun - a 3.8oz buffer... That's now the "optimal choice" for a .308AR firing a .308 Winchester round?... No, it's not. It's not even close to being "optimal" in any way, shape, or form. Not for a .308AR, or a .308 Win round. A 5.4oz buffer IS optimal, though, but that will cost a cheap manufacturer some money. $$$.... Because - tungsten = $$$... SS over Aluminum, for the body = $$$, too... 2nd comment in red - yes, deeply confused. Please, at your leisure, read this thread that I've been working on since 2018, and that I've been testing since 2010... My information comes from experience on this platform, and not from anything else that's stated-as-fact on the internet. It's from building these large frame ARs, in various calibers, and making them run, one way or another... Here's the details:
  7. This sound familiar?... The Griffin Armament AR-Suppressor Optimized Buffers... https://www.griffinarmament.com/ar-sob-a2-suppressor-optimized-buffer/ https://www.griffinarmament.com/ar-sob-suppressor-optimized-buffer-gen-2/ The buffer is one of the more overlooked components in most rifles. In the current market, cost constraints and a desire for rifles to run with cheap, underpowered, steel jacketed ammunition are driving forces for many firearms companies who are involved in what appears to be a constant race for the bottom. Most rifles are aggressively over-gassed and supplied with cheap, light CAR buffers which are employed to reduce system cost, robbing rifles of necessary weight for reliable chambering with fouled chambers. This also encourages premature unlocking of the bolt, causing undue extraction stress, contributing to operational failures and mechanical failures of critical system components. Suppressors further increase system operating speed and exacerbate the over-gassed condition. Our AR Suppressor Optimized Buffers (SOB) will work to resolve these issues by allowing a carbine to run more smoothly and reliably. The AR-SOB (Suppressor Optimized Buffer) has a spring loaded (Gen 2 addition), staggered impact design that offers increased system dwell time, reduced bolt speed, and enhanced chambering reliability of your AR style rifle. The AR-SOB can be used in conjunction with or without a suppressor. $54.59 MSRP The AR-SOB-A2 weighs 5.6 ounces, and can be used in suppressed 5.56mm rifles as a replacement for the M4 carbine series buffers, when used in conjunction with the AR10 mil-spec CAR receiver extension, Griffin AR-10 Maritime Receiver Extension, or "Vltor A5" buffer tube, AND AR-10 CAR action spring. $59.95 MSRP AR .556 & 308 Buffer Springs Our buffer springs, manufactured from 17-7 stainless steel wire, offer excellent resistance to corrosion, superior fatigue properties, and exceptional rigidity and durability. These springs are standard weight springs- identical to the highest quality mil-spec 17-7 derivatives. $8.95 MSRP AR .556 & 308 Buffer Springs Extra Power (+15%) Extra Power Buffer Springs offer a +15% enhanced overall recoil performance than our standard buffer springs. We recommend the extra power buffer springs for firearms that are regularly run to oil scarce or dry conditions at high round counts. They are also recommended for firearms that are regularly running suppressors. $13.95 MSRP
  8. Couple sweet VLTOR gas blocks in the deal, too - SCORE!
  9. Snugged is all it needs. It's not under any serious pressure.
  10. Both those last two are excellent, brother. Pure genius. I have a particular affinity for the M2, myself. I love that weapon system. I can headspace and time almost ALL barrels on that platform, WITHOUT the aid of the Headspace and Timing gauges. I can do it in the dark, blindfolded, too. That's time on the platform, right there - but it's GOOD TIME on the platform, with seasoned Mentors, that makes that possible. I owe my past experience, knowledge and training - to my past instructors. Without them, I'd still be licking windows in the back of the bus.
  11. Albro... It always amazes me when you get busy and the chips start flying... You do some AMAZING work, man!!!

AWESOME, BROTHER!!! Always know, if you're ever out this way, you have a roof over your head and food to eat. Oh, beer... Did I mention beer? Plus, guns and ammo. Your pick of the fleet.
  13. You're getting VERY DAMN GOOD at cutting these cases, brother!!
  14. I see what you did there...
  15. Get some pliers and rip that sucker off there, man!
  16. This is Roman, putting in work, and doing mag charge drills tonight... WORK, brother! Just so people don't think this is BS, here's the live-fire...
  17. Drop-leg holsters take training. That was all the rage in the late '90s for us. But it takes some training. We reverted back to waistband/belt carry. I still have a couple of the drops, and work them in once in awhile. Get ready to work with it, brother. It was all the .mil-rage, when we had LCEs and LBEs that hung at the waist - had to get to the pistol, so the drop was the answer. Gear changed, LCEs and LBEs went by the wayside, and everything started to get carried on the plate carrier, or chest rigs - higher. That opened the "belt" back up, for the pistols. Best way to carry a pistol - is the way you carry it everyday. For most, that's on the belt, strong side. No "training mistakes" that way - it's always in the same place, everytime, no matter what the conditions are. Muscle Memory... That's my opinion, anyway....
  18. So, this isn't a lie, zero exaggeration or bravado... Last month, I took the 6 ARC out to the new shoot that we're doing - the "Accurized AR Match" at Cowtown. I have feeding issues with that gun, and need to tweak the feedlips on the grendel mags to make it run right. Not something i'm going to do while it's just Psycho-Hot out. Parked in the safe, until I tweak it. Mext Match is coming up on 26 June. Reg opens next Monday. ONE GUN, THAT I KNOW RUNS, LIKE A CHAMP!!!... The Mk12 Mod1... It's going out on the 26th. Last weekend, me, @JBMatt, and DirtBike Tommy went out to the SDTF, and verified our stuff. Matt's Win Mag is STUPID ACCURATE. It's just ridiculous... The Mk12 Mod 1 is no slouch, either. I verified my scope zero, made a little tweak for temp and weather, and it's dialed for the next shoot... First group up, see where it's at at 100... Adjust slightly - I'll keep this one... @JBMatt's WinMag... I need to adjust my load on mine, to keep up with this! He adjusted the scope after this one, and got it centered, and I'm in TROUBLE on the Mile if I don't fix my shiit!!! DAMN GREAT SHOOTING, brother!!!
  19. Ruger #1 action is the strongest one out there for the 45-70s. That thing is no joke. There's 3 levels of load data, depending on your gun... #1 (strongest action), Ruger #1 #2, Modern lever guns #3, trap-door guns. You mess up and find a load and decide to use it - find a Ruger #1 load, and you have a trap-door... You don't have that trap-door, no more... There's tons of load data on 45-70s out there, but you have to be careful with what you have, and what you load... When some of you guys shoot mine (and the ones that have shot it), keep in mind, I'm 50.0 grains of IMR 3031, with a 405gr projo. The chart for that one load goes up to a max charge of 55.0 grains! Yep, nope, don't need another 5 full grains in THAT load, at all!...

  21. Love ya, brother!!!
  22. Kate ROCKS!!! She's half the reason we still keep Ron around here. Jon is the other half!... @DayWalker...

I hate those fuckers. Ling Cod. I think I have a story here about them, but I was witness to a (dumbass) attack with a 60-pounder. Almost ate my best friend, because of another dumbass that we never dove with before... I'm positive that story is here. We never dove with that dumb fucker ever again, either...
