Lasers are only "aiming aids" and not sights, if you're using them for varying distances. For anything further out, they're only used for target ID (pointing out targets for others around you). Definitely not as a sight, that you can count on for hitting a target from your rifle. If you only shoot at a target at a given distance, then you can zero the laser for that distance. Otherwise, you'll need to know the holdovers for it for varying distances. Just like knowing the holdovers for the reticle in your scope.

Call my guy here - Jason will answer the phone. Last I heard, he had a bunch of Bergers in stock. He ships all over the country, but he shut the website down because they're getting crushed. Call, brother. https://www.brunoshooters.com/ I used to work 1/4 mile away, and get off work at 3:30pm everyday. I'd swing by there everyday, before heading home. Now that I'm working further away from him, I can only get there when I have a Saturday off, and that's rare. JBMatt is in the area, and doesn't live far, so I have JBMatt swing in there, and report anything interesting when it's in stock. I live vicariously through him now...

Anything in the DPMS High Profile will work, if you're looking on the interwebz.

For 5.56 heavies, .308 Win heavies, plus .308 Win 150gr FMJ-BTs, I use Alliant RL-15, and it's spectacular. RL-15 and Hodgdon Varget are almost identically interchangeable, for 5.56 and .308 Win load data, too. Damn near identical twins. For my .308 Win 178gr ELD-X load that I came up with, I used Accurate 2495. I won't use anything else for that load. As a general rule, if it works with 5.56 heavies, it works with .308 Win heavies, too. For 5.56 55gr range loads, I just use H-335. As far as Alliant powders go, they're excellent. The others I use are RL-7 for the 25-45, and RL-22 for the .260 Rem, .300 Win Mag, and .338 Lapua Mag loads. I don't use it, but RL-17 is supposed to be the SHEEIIITTT for .260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm not changing my .260 Rem load for anything, though. No way, no how.

Aero Precision w/20" Krieger failure to feed using DPMS magazine
98Z5V replied to Drew Eckhardt's topic in Member Builds
Nothing wrong with the recoil system that you ended up with - but I'd save that for another build. I'd scrap the whole recoil system, total, and just put the Armalite AR-10 Carbine Recoil system in. Completely. This one: https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=AR10REKIT01&ReturnURL=/Armalite/Product-Category/AR10-Parts-Accessories/Lower-Receiver-Parts&Category=ac614400-ff09-4cdf-9d35-419a654e7201 You spent the money on the Krieger M110 barrel. Use the recoil system that the M110 uses, when it has a collapsible stock. -
Verifying I'm on the right path - gas port dia.

Good work, man - very glad to hear that. -
This doesn't have anything to do with an Armalite AR-10, in the least, and shouldn't even be in this section. Mods, please move this to the Builders section, or something comparable.

That depends on how fast I get my ass to Cali and check out load development... We're working on that now...

That was a Grand Canyon trip, brother...

There's that MATH thing that you youngin's suck at. And just shows that you're talking shiit without looking at information. Let that Bulldog Mouth run that Canary Ass... Infants that were born when I retired won't be eligible to enlist until 2025. But, you know better. Just had to address that ONE LAST BULLSHIIT STATEMENT from you. Have fun in life - I hope you learn alot. Because you got ALOT to learn... EXPERIENCE is what makes us older fuckers WAY BETTER than you young fuckers. You don't want to make that "mistake in life" too many times... I color-coded that, so you could keep up. Just match the colors, for the responses. Have a good one, know-it-all.
-
I'm done. You're a fucking idiot. You've proven it, over and over again. Some young shiithead with a chip on his shoulder about being an RTO, but he thinks he knows everything about SOF. Have a good one.
-
Here's you... and what you know on the topic at hand - the ORIGINAL topic...
-
They said the same shiit in 1998, when we were kicking people out over "tattoo inspections" - for tattoos that they thought were "white supremacy" tattoos. Only, back then, the term was "skindheads" and "Nazi" tattoos. There were actually "tattoo inspections" where Soldiers had to go in, strip down, and "be inspected." This isn't a new game, youngin'. It's politics. You just didn't see it last time around. How old were you in 1998?
-
ALL you're doing is posting "feelings..." How's that for "data..."
-
Which is saying - you don't know shiit about it. You know nothing about SOF, besides what you SAW. Zero experience, though, inside any one of those units. Zero. So sit down, take a breath - and look at the article again - from an OUTSIDER'S perspective of the article's author - because that's exactly what you are. You are an outsider in ANY kind of SOF discussion. Period. Hey I get it - you're a badass. If you really - REALLY - have something to say about this topic, then go to the source, and say it. Go sign up on SOFREP, get into this article, and make your comments over there to John Black. Let him know how you feel about the information of his that I presented. Go get 'em. Get info SOFREP and really tell them how you feel about this topic... Here's the direct link to it: https://sofrep.com/news/socom-gives-way-to-political-pressures-again/?utm_source=SOFREP - Highly Engaged&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Did SOCOM Hire a Woke Commissar%3F (TMR3Eg)&_ke=eyJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIkhWUzNDYSIsICJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJyZ3JoYXJ0bGV5QGhvdG1haWwuY29tIn0%3D
-
So, you don't know SHIIT about SOF, is what you're saying. Never served in a SOF unit. I have. I had an M4A1 since 1995. I guess, you don't know what the M4A1 is - since it was never issues to you, or anyone around you. Since you're quoting the M16A3 now... You're a joke.
-
Yes, I started this thread, and I quoted a topic from a very reliable news source, on this topic. THEN, I offered my opinion, based on my time in SOF, and the SOF mentality. This article is about a SOF issue. Then, you hopped in, and you know everything - and that's just not the case here. How much time do you have in SOF? What units were you an RTO with? What was your security clearance? I provided a topic - from SOFREP - that is directly about a hire IN SOF - for a position that is not needed, by the author's opinion. I echo that opinion, completely. You, are on another planet about this whole thing. You can keep going, but you don't know what the fuk you're talking about. You can generalize any military thing that you want - but that doesn't pertain to this article that I posted, not in the least. Keep going, young pup.
-
You are off the rails. Take your bullshiit somewhere else.
-
That document was Unclassifed, from it's start - it's the header that's right on top of it. It clearly states it.
-
You just quoted a document, as proof of a current argument - that is 15 years old... Well done. It IS an FBI Doc - published on the DEMOCRAT.OVERSIGHT.HOUSE website, too. Doubly Well Done...
-
Don't get your panties in a twist over the Command Climate in the particular unit that you were in, over one enlistment. Your experience doesn't match the rest of the military, by far. Especially now, all Woke and bullshiit.
-
No, I don't remember that time. How much time do YOU have in a military uniform? I better clarify that - when did you enlist, and how long were you in a branch of any Armed Service for? What was your term of enlistment? Or, were you ever in? I think not.
-
Oh, there was never any story for it, because we waterproofed those bitches like CRAZY. I was on a water-team, and our gear got wet often. Full-load training waterjumps were the worst. When you hit the water with a 100lb ruck, plus all the parachute shiit - you better hope you got that right. You never took the chance, because that would have SUCKED... Very badly...
-
This one really sucked, Army wise, and was heavy as FUK, compared to the Liths. But it sure was fun once it was dead... These things made great campfire starters, in a big way...
