    98's 6mm ARC

My LaRue lower showed up at the shop, but I haven't had the time to get in there and get it yet. The upper kit and scope mount still haven't shipped yet. Glass is on the way. 200 rounds of Hornady Match still hasn't shipped yet, even though they stated that they had 116 boxes "in stock." 300 108gr projectiles sitting on the bench, no brass available yet, though. I ordered the upper kit "unassembled," so as soon as everything gets here, I'm mixing Cerakote and painting everything. THEN it goes together. Baby steps, men, baby steps. Still a little time left 'til November.
  3. What are you talking about? M4 feedramps? M5, as in Aero Precision? If it's what I think you're talking about, it's mainly diameter. AR15 barrel extensions, and .308AR barrel extensions.
  4. After reading that - and seeing the imbedded vid - I was right. That's a giant dick coming out of the top of his head.
  5. Gas system and recoil system are independent of each other. As long as they're balanced, and work well together, you're okay. Rifle gas doesn't mean that you MUST use Rifle recoil. Hope that makes sense. The PRS 3 will mount to either a rifle receiver extension, or a carbine receiver extension - so, that particular stock doesn't care what it gets mounted to. It works for both.
  6. RRA LAR-8 upper receivers are longer than DPMS and Armalite upper receivers - so their LAR-8 carry handles will be longer, too. Just like LAR-8 charging handles are longer. Not for use on a DPMS or Armalite pattern. For use on a RRA LAR-8. You'll find that out fast, if you buy one and mount it up.
  7. ^^^ Yep, you change ejection pattern with buffer weight, not gas pressure.
  8. The gas system isn't dependent on the recoil system, not in the least. You can run Carbine Recoil systems on Rifle Gas systems. Hell, you can run Rifle Recoil systems on Pistol Gas systems, if you want. The importance is - the recoil system and the gas system have to be balanced, and work together (not against each other).
  9. That's where the best ones come from, from personal accounts. My buddy (and his wife admitted it then) went two ridges over, found her, picked the ticks off her - and they were married shortly after. Personal account. Love them to death, too.
  10. It was something like the middle of the day, on DAY FOUR. Of FIVE. Your internal nuclear reactor overheated because we were running out of beer-ice. To keep the MGD cold. You weren't thinking straight then, because of the radical rise in internal body temp. Hey, I'm just putting it out like it happened. If you forget, that's when the 12.5" .308 SBR came out -that night - and you shot out all the 1" wide pickets for the 450-yard target, and knocked it down. We shot the fuk out of the target, so I can't say you hit it - but you hit those fuckin' 1" wide T-Posts. At 450 yards. At night.
  11. You go, brother. I'm here for you, no matter what.
  12. @DayWalker, need some confirmation here... Little help...
  13. No, it's not. He spoke truth. You're just not normal, brother. Kinda part Terminator, kinda part Energizer Bunny. Whatever the fuk you're made of, or combinations - it's not normal, and it's not right. No Human should be able to do the shiit that you do - but you pull it off. Sorry to bring that to light, publicly. I think you're a fucking Alien from another planet - and I've watched you extensively, with a watchful eye - knowing what you are. I ain't afraid of no man - but there's something out there waiting for us - and it ain't no man... It's Ron... But, much Love. I can't replace you. You ARE the Anomoly. Just embrace it, and we're all better off...
  14. @ my brothers over at Full30.com. @Robert@FULL30 - you guys need to seize this opportunity, and max out what you can. Take control, and take the space and opportunity that was there. Now is the time to expand your services, my brother. Risk it, if there's internal talk of that. Risk it. You, now, are the only service, outside of YT - which hates us. It's you, or nobody. Go deep, do it, and it'll pay off.
  15. Of their own accord. I received this email tonight. Another casualty of 2020 GunStreamer <info@gunstreamer.com> Tue 6/23/2020 7:35 PM Media Contact: info@gunstreamer.com 2020 has been a test to many, proving to be a difficult and trying time. With that being said, and with a heavy heart, the GunStreamer team has made the difficult decision to suspend it’s services. 16. I will - if I pick the ticks off her, can I keep her? That works in Arkansas.

    98's 6mm ARC

This has my hopes up - for greatness. There wasn't all this technical info out there on the Valk - just alot of hype on it, fancy charts, whatever. I'm glad I built one, though. Now I know. This is good, and why I'm in early on this 6 ARC. Q&A With Tom: Q: But Tom, I don't load my own ammo. What do I do? A: Well, you can buy factory loaded ammo, and the heaviest that I know of right now - even though it's a Unicorn - it the Hornady Match 108gr ELD-M loaded ammo. OR, you can man the fuk up and buy a press, and start loading ammo. You know, like the Real Men do, when they want the most out of their gun. That was easy...
  18. A 16" barrel will do 600 yards very well, and it'll do 800 yards with regularity - and accurately. Go with a 1:10" twist, for sure. The 11" twist will run 175s well, but that's right around it's limit. You ever decide to go heavier, and you'll need that 10" twist. Example: Had some 195s laying around for 300 Win Mag loads, but I went with 225s in that gun. For giggles, let's load up some test rounds with these 195s into the .308 Win cases... They did GREAT at distance!!! Don't discount 18" barrels, either, though. Criterion has one badass 18.5" .308 Win barrel that they make for Fulton Armory. I think Criterion still provides it for FA, but they also sell it themselves. That barrel right there is the baddest .308 Win barrel that I own. Brewing beer, huh? You busy this Fall, by chance?...

Time to place a call to Hornady tomorrow, and find out when they're dropping 6 ARC load data. I keep waiting for it to pop up here, but it hasn't yet. This is where they drop all the new data that came out after their last published manual, which is the Hornady 10 Manual. https://www.hornady.com/support/load-data/

I wouldn't think it would take long to get a lower from Leander, Texas to south of Phoenix, AZ... Ordered 11 June, shipped Monday morning, 22 June - that's not bad, right there, when they conservatively told me "two to three weeks" - and that's reasonable. They got it out quick, but the anticipation of this bastard arriving is driving me nuts... I'm glad to see some really nice builds going together, via massive amounts of shiit-talking and peer pressure. Trying to decide if you'll build from a Wilson Combat set, or Mega billet set - that's impressive. Going balls deep on a Grendel Mk12 Mod 0, and building that fucker from an old Armalite SPR lower? Nuts. Good nuts, not bad nuts... I'm damn glad my first Mk12 was a Mod 0, now, and I'm glad I built that thing up on Noveske receivers. Had that NOT been the case, with all this current shiit going on, I'd be ripping that gun apart for the install of some badass receivers... Which is why this one had to be a LaRue. The 18" Grendel SPR is on a full Limited Set of Army Green Aero Precision hardware. The Mod 1 is nothing special, for receivers, but they're Aero standard receivers - not the cool new slick ones. The 16" Grendel M4 is on the Aero M4 Carbine lower - I like it. The 18" M16A4 thing I built is on the Aero M16A4 lower... Good parts go a long way to making a gun "special" to you, and for you. I have some that are simply tools, and I didn't/don't care what receivers they were, as long as they had good barrels, BCGs, and triggers. I think this 6 ARC is gonna be a winner. Not mediocre, like that damn Valk - but pretty damn good. I want it to just SMOKE the Grendel, but only because I know that the Grendel is my benchmark for what the AR15 platform should be capable of. It's got the numbers. It's definitely already garnered the hype in the gun world. And, ... there's some unit out there running around with it, Doing Bag Things to Bad People with it. I'm in.
  21. Anytime, brother. I'm in. But, you have to pass the gauntlet. You have to meet ALL of us. I can say you're good, and that get's you in the door. The others have the final say, my brothers. And they're all a$sholes... Risk it - come out here for a shoot with us.

    98's 6mm ARC

I think we smoked @DayWalker and @Matt.Cross in the same thread. That's some serious success, right there. The icing on the cake is getting @Rsquared, too. THAT is the big one. He went all in, balls-deep, Grendel version, Mk12 Mod 0. Major win in that one. Love you, Ron. I have a HUGE downside in all this. GIANT. I'm not scared, but I have a fall-back plan... The downfall in all this is I have a complete LaRue 18" Grendel for $991. Minus optics. You know, if everything turns to shiit with the 6 ARC.
  23. ^^^ Looks like he has a big giant dick coming out the top of his head. I'm just sayin'...

    98's 6mm ARC

Gonna be something that NOBODY else has. And it's badass. I think this cartridge is gonna smoke the Grendel - and I don't state that lightly. I'm hedging my bets, and making a badass rifle right outta the gate. I hope it doesn't disappoint me like the Valk did... That Valk is no Grendel-Killer, not in the least. It's not bad - but it's no Grendel-Crusher, in all the media hype. I hope this 6 ARC does what it states it will, before i get too deep into it with reloading and playing at distance. If it sucks, and wasn't "about the hype" - I'll just put that LaRue Grendel barrel right back in this gun. I know that cartridge performs...
