  1. @James G, please read this thread here, and give up WAY MORE details on what's going on. Read the thread first, so you realize the amount of details needed - to diagnose something over the internet. Also, start your own thread on this, so it's easier to keep track of in the future. This is way more than a double-feed issue going on here. Hope that all makes sense. Thanks in Advance. Oh, I almost forgot this part - go rip up the Intro Section when you have time, and tell us about yourself. Here's a link to it: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/

The phonecall tomorrow will be to Hornady, brothers.

@DayWalker, I talked to LaRue today, and asked about your rail - lead time is 1~3 weeks, and they're not behind on those. When I asked about the lower,a week after ordering it, they told be lead time was 2~3 weeks - that lower shipped in 11 days. Hopefully, that's their pattern, and you'll get some tracking on your rail soon. BECAUSE... I asked about my lead time on the UU Kit... and they told me that the lead time on those was 1~3 MONTHS... Hey, I get it. I just hope it's not at the 3-month end of that lead time... At any rate, Baby Steps... I checked on the ammo today, and it actually had a tracking number. I checked the tracking number, and it said it was delivered - to my work, where I am all day - at 9:43am. I went looking at the boxes that were dropped off - Hmmm... nothing for me. I ask my parts guy if he has a box with my name on it. He looks, nothing. Oh, and my UPS guy is a complete dipshiit, too. Thought I'd add that in there. I walk to the business next door... "Hey, you guys receive a box that wasn't for you?" Their answer - "Well, what was it?" My response: "Oh, it's a box of precision match ammunition - did Mike deliver it you you?..." YEAH, WE WERE WONDERING WHAT THE HELL THAT WAS!!! Helps if you look at the name on the box, before your parts-monkeys cut the fucking boxes open, right? That's apparently above them - to check that the packages they received are actually THEIR packages... Which again, takes me back to my dumbass UPS driver. Fucker delivered it to the wrong place. AGAIN. Some people. I swear. So, anyway, a little bit more headway, in this quest of the "touted perfect cartridge." I'm telling you, once all this shakes out, we're gonna find out how perfect it is, men. At least I have 300 projectiles already - and now I have ammo to zero the scope, break in the gun- and 200 pieces of brass to reload. The Lee Factory Crimp Die for this caliber will be released on 14 August. I'm in the backorder line for one. No dies from Hornady yet, but I'll take Hornady, RCBS, or Lee - whoever comes up first. No brass from Hornady yet, and I'll stick with their brass, or Starline Brass. I can check this off my worry-list. Everything from here on out is just gravy.
  4. ^^^ That right there is that Complicated Shiit... that you're not supposed to Complicate Shiit with, brother. We'll work it all out. Range Session is a must, but we'll solve it.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, my Spidey Senses are tingling... and I predict a 6 ARC Mk12 Mod 0 for a certain @Matt.Cross. I don't know what it is - I just feel it. Weird how that works.
  6. Water splash, soaked boobs, and I get to watch it... - I'll take what I can get, in slo-mo, brother.

It's the phones, brothers - talking to a Human WORKS!... I think you should call him 5 times a day...

    98's 6mm ARC

Cool story here, brother. When I ordered my 12" for my Mod 1, I waited a week, and called. Just wanted to know what the availability was, curious, you know? The guy told me that the 12"s were OOS, and the next production run was going to start in 3 weeks... then he says, "Can you hold for a few minutes?" Or course I can, my good man. He gets back on the line as says, "I can take a 12" rail from the guys that are assembling the full guns, and ship it out to you today." I says, No need to do that, my good man - don't rob a guy that's waiting on a full gun... He says, "They're building for stock right now, and all their guns aren't sold. But your rail is sold, so I'll send you one today..." I thanked him graciously, and accepted his offer. Moral of the story - that's why it pays to talk to humans on a phone, and not send emails.

I tried to call them this afternoon, just to see if I'd have a chance of receiving the UU Kit, so I can plan paint this weekend - I was #18 in the cue to wait. I'll call in the morning, and try to get in there early. I'll ask about the 12" rails then, too. Pics don't do this pretty piece of billet justice, brother. Not even close. Maybe if it was a @DNP pic, you'd really be able to see how badass it really is. I've handled @edgecrusher's OBR - that thing had me hooked in 2012. I've wanted something full-gun LaRue ever since. If this 6 ARC sucks - I'll still have one badass Grendel.
  10. Speaking of slo-mo - this is my favorite slo-mo vid of all time.
  11. You could have taken $60 off the price of that LaRue if you order it with the VFZ mounts - I'll never take mine off, and don't need the QD levers, so all my LaRue LT-158s cost me $160. I'm just sayin'...
  12. That last pic ^^^ - isn't that a pic of some crazy IRA chick from back in the day?

    98's 6mm ARC

Again, small baby steps. Picked up the lower today. The two items I was most worried about are in-hand - the lower, and the barrel. The Ultimate Upper Kit still hasn't shipped yet, so I won't be painting this coming weekend, that's for sure. I guess I should move my "worry" on to the ammo that hasn't shipped yet. Waiting on the first 200 rounds to ship. Done been paid for, was listed "in stock..."
  14. @Lane, THAT is the one! We need to move that to the 80% Section, and pin it in there. That's a mag-catch height goldmine, right there.
  15. No, there's another thread here somewhere, where we are only measuring bolt catch height on 80%'s, compared to production lowers. That's not the one. It's probably not a pinned thread - but I swore I asked for that thread to be pinned, after everything shook out. @Lane will probably know exactly which thread it is.
  16. Because (#1) there's NO standard for the Large Frame AR, like there is the for Small Frame AR (The MILSPEC TDP), and (#2) the mag catch slot on an 80% is already machined for you - by whomever you're buying that 80% lower from - and it's cut in the wrong place. It's too low. We have a pretty detailed thread here about this, and it's probably in the 80% section, on this board. I can't pinpoint and link that exact thread for you, but there's a very, very specific thread here just about this issue.
  17. Once again, I love this. I live this.
  18. By design, brother. By design. The pilots that are qualified to do that, and pull it off - they're BADASS, all the way down to the bone... You should check out some vids on the STOL C-130s, with the JATO jet-packs attached... I'm just sayin'...
  19. Double feeds are a magazine issue. Every single time. Nothing else will cause a Double Feed. Ever.
  20. You are confused on the operation of this weapons platform, and you don't NEED a rifle recoil system for your rifle gas system,. I've posted about this in your other thread(s).
  21. ^^^ That MagPul Fixed Carbine Stock mounts to a Carbine Receiver Extension. (answering now, before the question comes) That's what I put on my Can Cannon. Love it, for that.
  22. 98Z5V

    375 SOCOM

Yep, that was the Keeper. Very well done, brother.
  23. If he's running a carbine buffer system, it's on a collapsible stock. To my knowledge, the only stock out there that will work on both receiver extensions is that PRS 3 that you bought. You're reading WAY to deep into a dilemna, that doesn't exist. You don't have to have a Rifle recoil system on a gun with a Rifle gas system. Read this, please. It's directly FOR you, but it's for US, too. Read it, soak it in, and we'll have less questions to answer, in the long run. Thanks in advance, for reading that thread ALL the way through.
  24. You coming to Phoenix, brother?
