Just DO IT, brother. There isn't an 18" AR on the planet that is as Sexy as a Mk12. Nor as efficient. If the Mk12 is what you're after, then just don't be disappointed about something else. Just ask @Matt.Cross - you've already been given an invite into his downward freefall (with thrust rockets attached) into his 6.5 Grendel Mk12 Mod 1 progression. Don't let yourself down. Mk12 this fucker.

This little hooker arrives next week, so I need to get on that LaRue 5.56 Lower order pretty quick - that's gonna be the long-wait piece in this puzzle, I think. This is the Grendel barrel pic, but you get the idea - it's just like the Grendel, 5.56 and .224 Valk barrels. This is next. GAWD DAYUM, THIS THING IS SEXY!!! And, I'm gonna FDE Cerakote the FUK out of this thing.
  4. I've created bolt over-rides, to teach clearing them. We can do that. Easy.
  5. Good point - you get into a Bolt Over-Ride - the WORST of all true Double-Feeds - and you can't clear it, OR get the gun apart...

I'm seeing the CMMG barrels there, but nothing else right now. It's some slim pickins right now - haven't seen an interest in a new cartridge like this in a long time. It's crazy. The supply and demand for ALL GUNS right now is pretty crazy... Got my tracking number on my barrel today. Arrives 18 June by end of day, unless FedEx makes it happen sooner. It's in their hands now.
  7. NOW you're complicating it... I like your style...
  8. This shiit is getting complicated. Fast.
  9. We'll see how that goes. They'll tell you they test-fired your upper and found zero issues, and send it back.
  10. That shiit is daily in my house now, with the two new fuktards. They always fight - until TactiCat steps in and rolls some asses down the steps. 9 months old now, and they're big as hell. They're already more than "full-size." It's anarchy.
  11. ^^^ On that note, these are on sale on right now - $15 https://www.primaryarms.com/guntec-anti-rotation-trigger-hammer-pin-set-gt-arp
  12. Wow!!! Serious?! For HIM to leave CA, that's a huge step! Never would have thought that it was even a consideration, for him. He is completely set, with everything, right where he is, and that is one gorgeous chunk of terrain he has.

That's exactly what I'm doing - LaRue 6.5G Ultimate Upper kit, 18" barrel. It's $792, and I can pick "unassembled" when I order, so I don't have to take it apart when it gets here... It's in my cart right now. LaRue now sells their 5.56 lowers to anyone, for $199. The .308 lowers are $299. So, for $991 (5.56 lower), I could have a complete LaRue 18" 6.5 Grendel rifle - and swap out the barrel. That's a no-brainer for a badass gun. I'll either donate/auction that barrel here, when the time comes, or I'll put that barrel in my 18" 6.5 "Light(er) Hunter", and donate the Faxon barrel that's currently in that gun. Win for me, win for everyone.
  14. Woodies are amazing! I remember taking SO MUCH SHIIT on Arfcom, when I built that. ALL the Mall Ninjas said I was a dumbass, and it sucked, yada yada yada. I didn't care. I was beating up that 450 (really 475) out on the Sierra Vista Shooting Range, with iron sights. I'd start 100, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 (the 475)... Smack smack smack, over and over. Other guys out there were asking what they hell I was doing... "I'm just having FUN!..."
  15. GAWD DAMN! i FOUND IT! It's a complete built National Match Rifle - minus one part. Those wood handguard grips will not fit a National Match Freefloat Tube. @mrraley sold me that Armalite NM Freefloat tube and gas tube many years ago, and I bought it just for this rifle - but I'm too chicken to trust anyone to mill those Walnut handguards out to fit it. Everything else on that gun is all National Match parts, down to the skinny 0.040" KNS Precision front sight post, and the RRA NM carry handle, 1/4 x 1/4 MOA adjustments and 0.040" changeable peep. Young NM BCG, Geissele SSA-E trigger, a BAD-ASS just because, and a rare (don't think they make them anymore) Rainier Arms UltraMatch Billet upper receiver. This thing can Slay Dragons at 500 yards with Iron Sights. It's an absolute joy to shoot... There's a build thread on it somewhere here, but with all the "Woody" talk over the years, it hard for me to even find it. Pics with flash and without flash, so you can really see that wood.
  16. Damn, what a blast from the past. That's the exact same furniture that I used on my 5.56 Woody. That same pic is what prompted that build, and that same pic is what I used on the cover of my Appleseed Instructor Manual. At the time, I pulled that furniture from Precision Firearms, and when I called, I talked to Mark Hostetter himself. That is a really, REALLY good article, brother - thank you for finding that. Now I need to dig the Woody out and get a pic of that beautiful bitch in here...

It helps if you review their product - really use it, beat it, find out it's badass - then tell the world. So far, I'm the ONLY guy to leave a review on their 16" Grendel SPR barrel. Oh, and when you're at SHOT, and Clint has kegs there in the booth at 3pm on Thursday - you show up and try to drink him out of beer, and shoot the shiit whilst doing it... Click this, and check the only review so far for that barrel. https://www.ballisticadvantage.com/16-inch-65-grendel-spr-mid-ss-premium-barrel.html I'll make it easier: ^^^ When I bought that particular barrel - it was a phonecall. I pulled that barrel for $165 charged to my card, WITH a pinned gas block... I didn't even know what I paid for it until I read the invoice in the box, when it arrived. They rock.

The toughest thing is getting that barrel. After that, just use a ToolCraft 6.5 Grendel BCG and either the E-Lander 6.5G 17-rd mags or the C-Products 6.5G 25-rd mags. It really is just a Grendel bolt, and Grendel mags. I haven't tested any other Grendel mags but the two that I listed, but I'll guarantee that they work - in a Grendel. We'll see how this 6 ARC likes Grendel mags.

I'll be able to give you the math on that, energy at distances, once I shoot this thing and get a real muzzle velocity number. Everything after that is just math. Gonna be Ballistic Advantage, 18" SPR-profile barrel, brother. That's the only way I can accurately pit this thing against the 18 Grendel and 18 Valk, since they both have that barrel profile, from the same manufacturer. I have my order confirmation, and I called today, just to make sure it's really an order, and not a "pre" or "back" order - it's real, and it's mine. It just hasn't shipped yet. I was told that I'd get it no later than next Thursday, the 19th. Wilson Combat is on board with the 6 ARC, from what I've found. Just nothing listed on their website yet for it. FWIW, there's no mention of it on BA's website yet, either. When they did the 16" Grendel SPR barrel, I had that thing in-hand 5 weeks before they got it on the website. I already had it built and zero'd and stretched to 500 yards, before it went public-for-sale. Figured I needed to give this 6 ARC the same amount of attention, just because @DayWalker called me out on it...
  20. That's what you think right now... if you stick around long enough, you're gonna find out that we're ruthless, and we'll help you empty your wallet. Quick.

Just for shiits and giggles, we can lump some 5.56 into this test, too. My 75gr Hornady BTHP handloads, through the Mk12 Mod 1 - with a what? Ballistic Advantage 18" Mk12 profile barrel, of course. We'll just keep track of drop at 850 yards for a center-mass hit in the IPSC steel, for the comparo. Long Range Day at the Fall Shoot is gonna be LOOONG... Bring sunscreen, and a balaclava or shemagh to cover your neck...
  22. Don't be ashamed of being "Ron the Glock-Sucker." @MikedaddyH fucked a bunch of us, all, on this... What can you do?... He converted a bunch of us into Glock-Fags, on a damn office bet...

^^^ You two... The pressure IS ON!!! I LOVE IT!!! My Ballistic Advantage 18" Mk12 SPR-profile 6mm ARC barrel will be here in a week. I pulled it for about $60 less than it's being advertised for - it helps to know people... I'll have a second one coming in a week after that. I'm just sayin'... No better barrel to test against the 18" SPR Grendel, with the Ballistic Advantage Mk12 profile barrel, and the 18" SPR .224 Valkyrie, with the Ballistic Advantage Mk12 SPR profile barrel. Pit these 3 against the 18.5" Mk11 .308, with the old-skool Kreiger-Criterion Fulton Armory Match barrel, running my Hornady 178 ELD-X handloads that were brewed up JUST for that gun... This is heaven, men. We get to see what all the hype is about, real, in person, right behind these guns - at 850 yards and more.
