  1. Nope, nothing I don't like about it. It fulfills it's purpose, as a "brace" that I can use. I wouldn't change anything about it. One thing that TailHook Mod 2 has GOING for it - is the proprietary extension. NO WAY to get trapped into some BATFE bullshiit with that one. Nothing else will ever fit. With that SBA3, it's running in a mil-spec RE. You COULD fit a true collapsible stock to it - which would be an illegal SBR. In the entrapment game, that's a minor downside. Have to be some croooooked shiit going on, to get that brought upon you. If that came up, my personal mentaility is "YOU go eat a dick, and PROVE it. When you're done, have a desert on this bowl of smashed assholes..."
  2. Got a picture of this thing, or a link to where you got it from? Who makes this rod?
  3. Now, where the exactly in the hell have YOU been, brother?... It's pretty damn good to see you post again. You have no idea how many times, especially in the last couple months - that you haven't had a PM asking what's up. I've been triggered, talking about other people here, any you come to mind. I tell myself I'll send you a PM - and then I tell myself I'll send it "tomorrow..." Damn Good to see you.
  4. Replace that recoil spring with an Armalite EA-1095. Let's see what happens. Gas block WIDE OPEN. It stays wide open, until you get this gun running. Get online, and buy some Federal Gold Medal Match ammo. Sounds expensive, but don't fuk around with any other ammo that could be lower powered. If the FGMM doesn't run your gun, then we seriously need to figure it out - but we have a baseline, in figuring it out. Go get busy, and rip the Intro Section up - tell us about yourself...

    375 SOCOM

That's a good methodology - because eventually, and you just witnessed it... It'll backfire on you...
  6. SBA3 is good, and adjustable; SBA4 should behave just like it - just looks different. I like the one SBA3 I have. Next up, I'll be trying out a TailHook Mod 2 and see how I like it.

But... that's one SWEET Grendel, that you tripped into after that, @Armed Eye Doc
  8. Or, save money, and try that new Aero Precision 2-stage nickle-boron trigger. I have enough rounds on that shorty 12.5" .308 to definitely say that I like it. It's good. That first stage isn't LaRue, but it's a good trigger. Broken in a little, now, that first stage cleaned up a little. Smoother now - definitely not saying it was bad before, though. Just a good trigger, and a great price. It's the same $$$ as the LaRue, around $80. EDIT - DAMN! They chopped the MSRP by $10!!! It was a $79.99 MSRP, not it's showing as a $69.99 MSRP! https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/2-stage-nickel-boron-trigger
  9. Pump the brakes, people. OP, Whatever you have in that collapsible stock (receiver extension) is not going to work in a rifle stock config. You already stated a 2.500" buffer, so it's a DPMS-based buffer, that means it's a 7.000" internal depth AR15 carbine receiver extension. That 10" spring is junk. You need a rifle receiver extension that's 9 11/16" internal depth - they all are, and are hardly ever screwed up. Measure anyway. You need a rifle buffer that's 5.200" long, 5.4 oz. That's how long .308AR rifle buffers are, for Armalite and DPMS-based platforms(I've seen some DPMS LR-308 rifle buffers that are 5.311", and a tick over). AR15 rifle buffers are 5.900" long, and that won't work in a .308AR. You need the cheap, but REAL, Armalite EA-1095 recoil spring. Not some rip-off or a fake. After that, you need to figure out what stock you're putting on it. If you're going with an A2 stock, like a surplus stock, then you need a few specific things that adapted the A2 to the rifle recoil system. If you're going with an A1-spec'd stock, just mount it up.
  10. Don't leave out Quarter Circle 10. They make very, very nice stuff. https://www.quartercircle10.com/
  11. That's a good find, right there.
  12. Fuk it - it's all over now. Let's just push everything into the center of the room and light it on fire.
  13. Cool. 12 years in Tacoma, myself. Past life. Wet-Side Life RULES. What's your goal for this gun? What do you want it to do for you? Proclaim some desires, of what you want it to do. Thanks for the help - that we need to help you - with the requested suggestions.
  14. Wow. PIcs don't tell much. You stuck a piece of brass in the chamber. If you have a collapsible stock - then collapse it all the way down to closed. Stand the gun upright, and SMASH the charging handle with a dead-blow hammer, until you unlock that thing. Yeah, no kidding - you're sacrificing a charging handle, possibly. Whack it hard, too, numerous times. You'll unlock that piece of brass. There is no other way around that ^^^. Smash it.
  15. I see that you were on here at 7:50am yesterday, but you still haven't addressed this. That's okay though. You've said enough about yourself already. Well done.
  16. ^^^ Wilson Combat now ships that exact same barrel with a 0.080" gas port diameter. Wonder why?...
  17. Reloading is a completely different animal, brother. Completely. My initial loads for the .260 Rem never failed. 147gr Hornady ELD-M projos and the RL-22 powder. Ran that fucker like a champ. When I branched out into other loads, projos, - and even a factory load from NEXUS - wouldn't even cycle the gun. So, ONE LOAD would cycle the gun... and it was a stellar performer, so I didn't care. That load - the one that I really wanted - worked. Once I tried out the Nexus 130gr Laupa Scenars - that factory load, FIRST factory load ever through that gun... and it didn't even cycle the action?! I know something was wrong, WITH the gun. Chased down some other previous loads I tried, looked at everything - gas port too small, when you crunch gas port numbers. That thing was a 20" rifle-gas .260, with a 0.750" journal size, running a 0.070" port diameter. Too little. Punched that thing to a (real) 0.081" - runs everything now. All of it. All of my previous failed "other weight" handloads, AND that NEXUS 130gr Lapua Scenars. As well as powders, and their burns rates/power, make a difference - if that gas port diameter isn't straight to begin with, you'll only find ONE combination or two that really work. At that point, it's not the powders, or your loadings - it's coming down to the gas system itself. Never be afraid to punch a gas port up. Ever. If you fuk it up and go too high - then there's a metric shiit-ton of adjustable gas blocks on the market that can fix your over-sized drilling error.
  18. That's what you say now - until the computer forensics come back, and tie it to some free-porn that you clicked, 10 years ago...
  19. Eh, one of these days, you'll post a real pic of the malfunction - then we can really see what it is. Your description isn't very telling. Whenever you post up- and get a real pic of this jam - we'll figure it out quick. No pics = not much to go on, based on what you described. Get a real pic of this jam up here, and we'll solve it. I'll wait.
  20. Those are usually "announced." I think we just caught one recently, that the Software-Geek super-powers did NOT let the board owner know that there would be an "upgrade" - they just decided to do it on their own. That fucked us. NORMALLY, the idiots that just run software will ANNOUNCE that there's gonna be an upgrade, so you can warn your members about it. I don't think that happened last time. They must think that THEY own US... Not the other way around. Do what you're paid to do, software geeks. We don't work for YOU. You get paid to do what WE say you are to do. Glad that's straight. Carry on.
  21. Gotta be straight - that's what the rest of this fucking country is doing right now, and THEY can't be wrong. Just watch the news on it all. Trash your own neighborhood, and REALLY sho the Gub'mint that you're serious. Destroy your own shiit, in your own 'hood - and it's relegated into the limelight, via MSM. All those people "protesting" have to be right.
  22. So far, so good. Only about 100 rounds through this one, at this point, just to break it in and test function. The SBA3 works.
  23. Pics. Show us the jam.
  24. I was talking about that horse! That's a badass horse!
  25. I just need the gun and the brass - I'll do the rest. Loads will appear, and they'll be effective, and accurate.
