As you and I both know, @308kiwi, it's a sectional density thing. You get that .308 projectile at or above a 178gr projectile, and the sectional density goes through the roof, incrementally - that's what makes an accurate bullet. Go fat, guys - that's where it's at... I kid you not. There's alot more coming up about my 195s in a .308 Win distance loading...
-
Fuckin' AWESOME! I've loaded up some (supersonic) Hornady 195gr ELD-M projectiles in .308 Win loads for the 20" bolt gun, which is a 1:10" twist - and the barrel has ZERO problems stabilizing those at longer distances. I've said for a long time that the typical .308 loads we have are all shiit - ALL the bullets need to be WAY heavier. The twist rate is already there, with 1:10". That twist can handle up to 210gr easily, and handle the loads/projectiles. You start looking at the BCs of .308 projectiles, and it doesn't get serious under 178gr. Things REALLY start to get interesting ABOVE that weight. That's the very reason I won't load anything UNDER 178gr Hornady HPBT for my loads. You have hit a good combination, my good man.

I cleaned up 500 Hornady Match .308 cases, that will get sized into.260 Rem. After sizing them, all those necks need to be turned down. Well, maybe not all of them - every single one of them is different when they go through the neck sizer. Some are a little here, a little there. After that sizer though, they are all the same, uniform, and ready to go.
-
Now we're talkin'... I'm all over this .260 Rem gas gun shiit, brother. ALL over it.

Against a fucking MOUNTAIN LION... COUGAR, any other name you can throw at that animal. That's a bad motherfucker, that often doesn't get killed - it does the killing. This guy did it with ZERO outside weapons. None. This guy is a badass. That's all there is to it. Critique him all you want - then kill a Mountain Lion, with no external weapons, and tell me how he did it wrong... I'll wait for your story... I'M NOT FUCKING TRYING IT...

He might be the man-bun hippy type. Might be a full-on Fag-O-Saurus. I don't care about that, not even a little. When it was time to go Caveman, he went Caveman. He had to be a Savage, in order to be alive, and he went full-on Savage. I don't care how gay he might appear - when it was time to work, he did it. He crushed a windpipe, when that was what it took to save his own life.

And...did they tell you WHY that is?... What was their explanation on that?

Just to break it all down for you, the PSA "Gen 1" was so fucked up they stopped making it, and dragged their asses back to the drawing board, to fix their serious mistakes. The PSA "Gen 2" is just the formulation of hardware improvements they made to get their platform out of "Completely Proprietary," and into the real world of making some of their stuff work with SOME other manufacturers parts. That has ZERO to do with any DPMS G II platforms, which are .308ARs, but in a smaller package. ALL THAT SHIIT IS PROPRIETARY. DPMS tried to make a .308AR that is as small as an AR15, except for the size of the magwell. THAT is the DPMS G II. Smaller .308AR... "GEN TWO" when you see it, is like comparing apples and oranges hammers. It's just not even the same, so don't confuse it. In this world, those terms do NOT mean "compatibility" - they just mean, "Some dumbass manufacturer decided to do their OWN THING and hang a new name on it..." I kid you not. Welcome aboard - there's a steep learning curve ahead for you, with what you've stated already, and what you thought you understood. It'll all get worked out, though. You need to be patient, and not get pissed off when you state things that are completely off the wall - based on what you think your understanding is inside this platform. You've said enough already to make my brain do cheetah-flips, with all that's wrong with it. Hang on, slow down, help is coming... Gen 2 is NOT Gen II...WORLDS apart...

You fuckers impress me, like you have no idea. I mean that. I'm running down on 51 in month or so, and Ive abused my body so bad it's not even funny. The shiit I've done to myself, I didn't realize, when I was doing it, and I'm paying for it. Neck and back. I'll never stop - you can't stop me, you can only hope to contain me, but I'm slower now than I was before - and that pisses me off. Everytime I slow down, I only want to get stronger, just to overcome what made me slow down. I never had to battle this before, a I'm trying to find new ways to beat it down. I hate it.

Alright fuqr... I had to work extra hard with the soldering iron to keep these grill marks even... This stuff is KILLER on pork chops!!!

I preach that very thing all the time, and it's why I push being able to do this manually - without gadgets. You can train anyone to use the cool electronic gear, and they'll probably shoot pretty well - until a battery dies or something. Then they can't shoot. If you know how to estimate range, read the wind, and run the windage and elevation controls in your scope - then you can do all this already, to moderate distance. It's like Land Navigation - anyone can get there, looking down at a GPS. If I take away the GPS, can you get there with a compass, protractor and a map? Know your pace count? Can you read terrain, and navigate by terrain association? No matter how fancy the gear is, it still comes back to the basics. -
CHeck this video out on Grendel extrator testing (and the fix!). I think something like this is going on with yours. Looks like the extractor diameter was never changed, when the bolt face diameter had to go up for the larger x39 brass. Looks like the edges of that extractor (in the groove) need smoothed out. Scary though - too much, and it'll weaken the extractor. Check this:

FDE... FDE, too... You guys smell what I'm spreadin' yet?...
-
Bastard... I can't wait to try it - I almost went out there to cook them 20 minutes ago!...
-
Penguin aren't FDE. You wanna fight something tough, then fight something that comes in FDE. Deer and Beaver count. And they're BAD.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

@Rsquared has this one... he'll be in here shortly. There's a review up on it. -
Alright, fucker... it's on. Grill something with a bone in the middle of it, and tell me about it - Rib Eyes are easy. Then, let it go a minute too long (yeah, I wasn't paying attention... ) on the first side. T-Bones "bend" and "bow up" when you make that mistake... I made up for it by going 1.5 minutes less on the flip, and it was still great. I'll fire up some pork chops with this rub, tomorrow afternoon...
-
Strange - it was either highly overgassed, or highly under-recoiled, in the recoil system. That doesn't strike me as odd, for any PSA large-platform that they're putting out... DEFINITELY not dissing you, @CHughes...

As soon as one of you fuckers kills a mountain lion with your bare hands, I'll listen to the criticism you have of the guy that did it. That's Caveman shiit, right there, and he got it done, and he ain't dead right now. THAT is badass. I've fought enough wildlife in my life to know one thing for sure - there's no fucking way I'd want to fight a mountain lion to the death. It might be as badass as a beaver, and I'm done with that shiit.
-
Make no mistake. Dolphin Rape is Real...
-
YES!!!! HELL YEAH, BROTHER!!!
-
That fucking nails it, perfectly, in one post.

Never even heard of that before, and there's no way I'd use a gasket material for that job. Loc-Tite 609 is the only thing I've ever reliably heard of. Loc-Tite 609. Not "red loc-tite" or anything like that. 609.
