Never, EVER, underestimate ANYTHING that's made out of FDE. For your viewing pleasure: https://i.gifer.com/2zR5.mp4

Anyone you want to bring is more than welcome. I corrupted a friend at work, and brought him out, with family. His daughter is a Sniper, she just doesn't realize it yet. She was shooting everything out there on the Mk12 Mod 1, then the 18" Heavy Grendel, then the .260 - like a ninja. She couldn't miss, which fired her up even more. My buddy's wife says, "You don't care if you shoot at all - you're more happy about teaching people..." That shiit is truth, right there. That comment made me smile. Once you bring them out here, there's a whole lot MORE they'll shoot, and say "I want that one, TOO!!!..." We need more of that, in the future generations, and I'm all about it...

Welcome, GGGwood!!! (we might have pirated a guy from Full30...) Get your intro in here already, man... Spill the beans on your build - and the pics. It looks good so far. Let's get into that recoil system first, and make sure that thing is what it needs to be... You won't need that adjustable gas block, if everything works the way it should... @Robert@FULL30, sorry brother - I'll steal a .308AR Shooter in a second...

That's the Spray-N-Pray guys, looking for that magic "Fireball!!!" camera shot at night - while they're shooting at the 450-yard target. They get "magic," all right, and shoot everything BUT the target - the chains holding it, the fucking T-Posts, all that... and the target falls down. Meanwhile Tom-Ass and Matt Cross trek downrange to fix said target, and the Chollo cactus decide to attack... just Matt... This feels like Deja Vu... has this happened before? Oh yeah, it happens every year... minus the cacti on Matt. That only happens once. ONCE... I keep trying to drag other guys downrange with me, at night, so they can "get the experience," but they're always skeered...

You'll be roped into that stuff this year. There's no going back, afterwards... Your total Social De-Evolution will be complete...

I've got my fingers crossed that my 45-70 counts... I'd down, as the #1 committed guy. Barrels, bolts, reloading dies, I'm in. Drop one of those, I'm out. Everything to make it run - or nothing.

I'm telling you this - it would NOT be possible, if Rob hadn't figured out a real, no-shiit, .338 Lapua Magnum AR piston-gas gun that actually works. WORKS. Two other manufacturers have tried it, an no others have tried beyond that (***footnote***). Without that platform, the 500 Blackout through an AR platform would not work... ***I need to get my hands on this, to T&E. I might have a way to do that. http://www.alexanderarms.com/products/ulfberht

HINT, HINT! HINT, HINT!!! @Robocop1051 can transfer a ZERO DARK FIFTY to my Gun Pusher for the Spring Shoot, and @Matt.Cross and I can shoot the SHIIT out of it, with JB Matt, get TONS of video, and we can invite Craig Sawman Sawyer up for the Spring Shoot, too. TONS of VIDEO. METRIC SHIIT TONS. We can work this thing out, and get what the People want. It would be GREAT if Rob actually brought the rifle down, for the Spring Shoot. Can you smell what I'm spreadin'?...
-
I'm just the enabler that keeps Rob going... It's real, has been for a minute, and it went down with HUGE success so far, as far as reception goes. People are going nuts over it. There's a pretty big thread on Full30 about it - and we derailed that shiit in typical .308AR.com fashion... SQUIRREL!!! https://forum.full30.com/t/shot-2019-condition-red-s-zero-dark-fifty-a-10lb-ar-firing-subsonic-50-bmg-bullets/9618

I'm pretty sure I just mentioned this thing the other day - I have no experience with it, but I damn sure want to try it out.

I'm going to repost the HELL out of this!!!

I have some guns with only a red dot, and I have a Burris magnifier that primarily stays on one gun, but it's on an ADM QD mount, so I can put it on any of them with an AR red dot (height of the magnifier mount). It works well, very well. The issue of hitting anything beyond 150 is trajectory, and holds, not the magnifier. What is your zero distance on that gun, JF? On a 5.56 gun, with a 50/200 zero, I'm good to 250-ish with a centermass hold, unless it's at 25-ish yards. For 25 yards, just hold about 2.5" low, and you'll impact right where you want. That's where an EOTech shines, right there, with a 50/200 zero. Hold the bottom of that 65MOA circle, and you're dead-on at 7 yards. So, the 50/200 zero - Slight hold higher at 300, top of the head hold at 400 gets me centermass impacts. That doesn't matter if there's a magnifier on there or not. I hold half a body high at 550, and it's centermass hits. It's knowing your holds, more than anything else - the magnifier just makes the target more clear at distance. It makes it easier to be a little more precise. It excels at hunting with a red dot, if you know your distance holds. The 36-yard zero really shines here, out to 300 yards. Even better than the 50/200 zero. Target reference I'm talking about is an IPSC steel plate, 18" wide, 30" tall, torso shaped.

WTF. This is getting old - serving a narc warrant, too. IMHO, all SWAT-type teams should be recruited from 100% combat veterans from multiple combat tours, directly from Ranger Battalions. Put them through police academy training, get them up on laws, make them legal, and turn them loose on high-risk warrants.

This entire announcement terrifies me - you're big enough already, man!!!
-
Trigger jerk, recoil anticipation and heeling were three things I always trained people for prior to pistol qual. By watching where their own impacts land, they could identify what they were doing wrong, recognize that, and make corrections for it. That was hardly ever taught at a PMI in the early and mid 90s, but I made sure they knew it. When they see their own mistakes, and remedy it - it's just like a self-licking ice cream cone...

My name is Tom-Ass. I am a survivor living in Arizona...
-
I'm pretty sure I enabled these new enablers - they don't know it yet. I got this barrel so cheap it's not even funny, and they didn't charge me any shipping...
-
This barrel is on the way to me. I'll probably have it in-hand before they make the product announcement, and before it's on the website.

Weirder things have happened, brother - run it and see what's up!

We missed the boat on this one, guys. Went right through, and we didn't notice. I pulled this info from Full30.com. https://forum.full30.com/t/illinois-sb-337-has-been-signed-into-law/9489 Here's the meat and potatoes on it: https://blog.k-var.com/news/illinois-pritzker-signs-firearm-registration-dealer-licensing-bill/#more-4857 January 17, 2019 by David Dolbee Within 48 hours of being sworn in, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed Senate Bill 337 into law. The bill was passed by the previous legislature, but Republican Governor Bruce Rauner refused to sign it into law. Senate President John Cullerton previously made the unprecedented move of placing a procedural hold on the bill in order to avoid the possibility of a veto under the previous Governor, Bruce Rauner, and then removed the hold to send the bill to a newly inaugurated governor. Cullerton’s political tricks means SB 337 will now establish a firearm registry and likely shut down local gun stores in Illinois with government red tape. Gov. J.B. Pritzker holds paperwork he signed Jan. 17, 2019, requiring gun stores to get state licenses. Senate Bill 337, as amended by Representative Kathleen Willis (D-77), will direct the state police to create an electronic transaction form for firearm transfers, which will amount to a registry. This solution in search of a problem will not only waste taxpayer funded resources, but it will also not improve public safety. Criminals, by definition, do not obey the law, and acquire the vast majority of their firearms illegally such as by theft, on the black market, or by straw purchase. A registry would not affect criminals as it could only include lawful transactions. The only purpose that firearm registries serve is to facilitate future confiscations of firearms from those who currently own them legally. In addition, SB 337 will create onerous gun dealer licensing within the state. While the purported intent of this law was to enhance “responsible business practices,” this law only proves that the intention is to close as many federally licensed firearm dealers (FFLs) as possible. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) licenses and closely monitors all FFLs and strictly enforces any violation of federal law. SB 337 goes so far beyond federal law in its mandatory regulations and red tape imposed at the state level that they will almost assuredly force the closure of most firearm dealers and prevent prospective owners from opening new ones. This law seeks to create so many department divisions, anti-gun 5-member licensing boards, and licensing fees that dealers will be forced to close through oversight by anti-gun appointees or being priced out of business. Hopefully, Second Amendment defenders such as the NRA, Second Amendment Foundation and others will be able to block this through the courts. If not, it will set a dangerous precedent that will be mimicked by other states.

That came together very well - excellent picks on the parts.

Nice score!!!

Great news, but... PICS!!! Get a pic in here of it installed, and what you had to file - invaluable info for the next guy that has this issue. Good work, man.
