That's completely optional, but if it happens and is caught on video, I will provide a bonus prize...

Yep, we need to see this thing going down...

Haven't physically looked through this scope yet, but I know where there's one in stock. I'll look at it today. If I like the reticle size as compared to how it fills the objective, it'll be coming home with me. Just for reinforcement, from conversations past... Reticle: ret·i·cle ˈredək(ə)l/ noun North American noun: reticle; plural noun: reticles a series of fine lines or fibers in the eyepiece of an optical device, such as a telescope or microscope, or on the screen of an oscilloscope, used as a measuring scale or an aid in locating objects. Reticule: ret·i·cule ˈredəˌkyo͞ol/ noun noun: reticule; plural noun: reticules 1. historical a woman's small handbag, originally netted and typically having a drawstring and decorated with embroidery or beading.

*** Prizes were donated by Armed Eye Doc for the Fall Shoot. Unfortunately,we were severely handicapped during the Fall Shoot, and no real shooting contests were challenged or instituted during the event. The prizes have been in my possession since, and Doc said, "No big deal - we'll figure out something to do with them..." I think we've found it - and THANK YOU, DOC!!!

Wash started this, and I just can't take it anymore. We're gonna have the first contest here in a LONG time... So wash starts talking about this... There it went - then, he posts pics of the damn thing... SO... here's the contest. THE VERY FIRST PERSON HERE that posts a VIDEO of them uncanning, prepping, and eating this whole canned chicken-thing will receiver their choice of prizes. They get to pick whether they want the Beachin' Tactical Lite Sling (black two-point sling), or the MFT BattleLink buttstock. The video can be edited to save viewing time, but the video must show the uncanning of this beast, the prep (whatever you decide to do to it), and the ingestion of the whole canned chicken. If you try to fake it, and substitute some other kind of chicken, we will be able to tell. If you get sick - that's on YOU. Here are your prizes - you'll get to pick ONE of them, once you're unanimously declared the supreme victor of this contest...

I can't take it anymore. I'm gonna make the contest thread right now...

We need to make this an official "contest" in the contest page. Doc brought over two items to the Fall Shoot as prizes, but we pissed around so much that we didn't actually make timed shoots a priority. I'd say Wash needs to post it in the contest section. Whoever is the first person that makes a video of them eating the whole canned chicken will be the undisputed champion... ...and receive their choice of a Beachin' basic black sling, or MFT BattleLink buttstock...

NEVER. SLING. TACTI-CAT. CLOSE. TO. BALLS...

I wouldn't even TRY to contain that bastard in a sling and lug him around - he'd rip me apart trying to get out, then go completely batshit crazy on everything nearby...

^^^ Very well stated, my loquacious brother.

The LaRue is a fine, fine trigger. At it's price point, I'd have recommended it over the SSA-E (which I have in the "Woody" rifle). The only thing you're giving up is a pound in trigger pull. The LaRue is 2.5/2lbs, first and second stage, 4.5lbs combined. The SSA-E is 2.3/1.2lbs first and second, 3.5lbs combined. The SSA-E is slightly smoother, but it takes trigger time on both systems to be able feel that difference. A closer Geissele-comparison to the LaRue MBT2 would be the standard SSA trigger, in pull weights. As I said earlier, there's no way I'd take out my LaRue to replace it with another trigger, and you cannot beat that price point. You will like it.

You're gonna shoot someone in the dcik?!...

I will say this - Slash heavybuffers are worth it. Sprinco springs are worth it. All the adjustable gas this-that... use a standard gas block first. If your shiit don't feed, and it's a gas issue, an adjustable gas block isn't gonna help the fact that your gas port in your barrel was drilled too damn small - by the barrel maker. An adjustable gas block CAN help you if your gas port was drilled too large, and the excessive force is kicking the shiit out of your rifle parts. Not usually the case, though. Unnecessary, 99% of the time. If the excessive recoil is kicking the shiit out of YOU... then you picked the wrong hobby... Springs. REAL springs, and heavy duty springs - those are worth it, in alot of cases. Sprinco springs are awesome, completely the real deal. They're not low-mass this, and twang-reducing that. They just work. All that low mass shiit and silent-captured shiit was brought to reality by the gamer and 3-gun crowd. You can dump a BUNCH of money into shiit you don't need, reducing weight in your carrier, then the spring system (to compensate for the light carrier), and everything else. Alot of times, you need MORE weight in your carrier... Don't even get me going on hydraulic buffers. If it's "hydraulic," it contains fluid, and it if contains fluid, it will eventually LEAK. WTF you gonna do then, when your fancy buffer isn't "buffering" anymore?... Yeah... Should'a had a solid, conventional buffer, and you wouldn't be going through this right now... You guys aren't out there making money in your Heavy Metal 3-Gun division, getting paid by your massive amount of sponsors, based on how fast you shot that last course, and what your national standings are for this season/year. You're not. When you hear that "TWANG" from your buffer spring - it means your BCG just locked back. On the last round. You're empty. Reload. That's when you'll hear it. If it really bothers you, hearing a "twang," then I'm glad you never enlisted and had to suffer through all the years of rifle qual - cause you'da gone PTSD hearing it, on the qual range. If it's that bad, then it woulda had that effect on you, in those conditions. Drive ya nuts, it woulda. Adjustable gas blocks serve ONE purpose. ONE. Suppressed firing. Oh, and unsuppressed firing, on the same weapon. That's the only purpose they serve. If your gun shoots unsuppressed, it WILL shoot with a suppressor hanging off the end of it - there's no other way around it. Depending on your gas port size in your barrel - you might get alotta gas back in the face when that suppressor is on there. You might beat the internal components of your weapon up (upper receiver components) when you run your suppressor - and a standard gas block. With an adjustable gas block, you can cut that gas down, suppressed. Okay, I get it. How many military-issued Mk18s have an adjustable gas block, as issued?... Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit. Build a functional rifle. Build a SIMPLE, functional rifle. GO afterthe crazy shiit later, when you still don't need it, but want to spend more money. Don't START your build with a bunch of bullshiit you don't need...

You guys bought into the Kool-Aid on this one. FanBoys...

Welcome aboard - I tossed some info into your other thread.

Not that I can tell, so far. All seems to still be here. I had to frisk Rob, though. Again. I almost didn't get my Shockwave back... but it would have been a fair trade. He "couldn't find" his flare launcher for a minute...

We're going bigtime in this tinyass place, brother.
