Enough of that - apparently, he very well earned it...

If it hits, cut the front of the riser off enough to clear the charging handle. That's what the (real) difference is between the MagPul PRS stock for AR15 and 308AR. The riser on the 308AR PRS is shorter in the front, to clear the longer charging handle travel. Otherwise, those two bitches are identical.

Fucker... Sounds alot like this place. Maybe that's why you've been COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL here, Doc... You practiced on Marty before you joined here... ...OR... ... we corrupted you, here, and you applied that to Marty... I'm thinking Marty is the victim here. You're a bad man, Doc... ...Oh, the web we spin...

Pretty amazing, that this is all there is to a Remington 700. That B&C stock has a good profile, and a full aluminum bedding block in it. I'm likin' it. Pretty damn light, once it's stripped of the rifle guts. Surprisingly light stock.

Bell & Carlson M40 stock - so far, I likey. I'll know more as soon as I pull the trigger on it, but I think it's staying, from handling it at this point. This thing is coming apart tonight, and I'm adjusting that shitty X-Mark trigger. I know that trigger is going in the trash, and getting replaced with the same Timney I have in the 700 AAC SD rifle.

THAT'S A DAMN FUCKIN' GREAT INTERVIEW.

Happy Birthday, US Marine Corps. Everyman is a rifleman. As it should be. Glad the Corps is what it is. Very proud for them, of their heritage, because it's hard, tough, and mean as hell. I'll just leave this here...

Eff those body-armor-havin' possums. I hate those crunchy bastards... Ironically, that's from texashighways.com...

If you're HIS friend, you're OUR friend. Oh, by the way - I'm the major source of all the drama here...

NICE!!!! I like having Sawman in your corner, too.

Gotta be court-ordered, and gotta be 30 days or more, for that one to have an impact on gun purchasing. Court-ordered for a mental evaulation doesn't affect it, if the court order was for 14 days of mental evaluation/committment... Gotta be careful with the "military charges" that the news is spewing, also. It really has to be a military court, which is a no-shiit full-blown Court Martial. That's the only Military Court that there is. Non-Judicial Punishment (NJP) doesn't count. Not at all. That's just an Article 15 (or AR15), and it's an acceptance of punishment for breaking punitive regulations (not for breaking administrative regulations). There are a couple different levels of AR15s, also, and that stuff is administered by company-grade and field-grade commanders. It's used to enforce discipline. It's not a conviction of guilt, it's an acceptance of punishment... I kid you not... There's alot that the MSM is saying about this, but there are some major facts that are left out. I'm not fully convinced that the MSM has their shiit straight on all of it, but they're blasting off at the mouth about it, like they know it all.

Why yes, yes I do! And that thanks goes to you, my good man!!! It's in the house already. Mounting up the Warne Mountain Tech pic rail to it now. I was ready for this rifle a year ago, and wish I could have bought it then. ROB!!! LET'S CHOP IT BACK TO 24" AND THREAD THE BASTARD!!!! SS, I'll probably start out with RL-22 for the powder. Searching through the Hornady manual, that powder is listed in about every projectile weight. I've got the 178gr HPBTs already - I load those for the heavies in the .308 bolt gun. I'll play around with alot of different Hornady projectiles with this one. I think the glass is gonna be the new Nikon Black X1000, 6-24 MRAD model. I'm liking what I'm seeing on that scope. I'll deal with it being SFP, I wish it was FFP.

I didn't do shiit on the reloading bench today, but I'm preparing myself to. I hardly had any time to get my reloading done before last week, before the shoot, and I barely made it through on some calibers. On the .308 Win 178gr HPBTs, I actually ran out, on the range. Fuckin' sucked, too. At that point, both Matt and I realized that the HSM Match ammo in 168gr Sierra HPBT actually SUCKED. It really does. Blew all kinds of primers in Matt's gun, jammed it all up and made it non-functional, and it didn't do for shiit from my 700 bolt. That ammo sucks, and I'm sitting on alot of it, in the ammo box. It's only backup ammo, in case I run out of my own loads - and we did... No more HSM Match-anything for me, ever. I'll blast this remaining shiit out of the 16" .308AR and get did of it - if it doesn't jam up my rifle, too. If I get one popped primer, the rest of it goes in a campfire - and RUN! So, what I did do today was FINALLY order up my .338 Fed dies from RCBS. Along with some 8x57mm Mauser dies, for the old warhorse. Tossed some .260 Rem dies into the basket before I checked out, just to force myself to push that .260 Rem AR project along... I figure if I've got the dies, and a metric shiitt-ton of Hornady Match .308 once-fired brass, then I'll make .260 Rem ammo - and it'll force me to build that bastard quicker... My logic... ...is usually flawed...

This rifle will finally become a reality. It's been a long time, and a very fucked up story behind it. Sometime this week, I'll pick it up. Remington 84164. It's the Model 700 Long Range, in 300 Win Mag. Glass is already picked out, Larue mounts already picked out - I'll start working on that stuff after the rifle is at home, and safed-up. I've been after this bastard for a long time now...

Timken is a bearing company, Timney is the trigger company. In that list above, I have all but the Rock River, for the reason that there are too many reviews online about the RRA trigger losing it's second stage over time, and going "mushy." I have the others, though, plus more. I'd recommend them all, and some of them for different reasons/builds. If you have a specific question about those, or any more, just ask up.

^^^ Yep. Lautenberg Act.

^^^ I see what you did there...

They've been at the top of my list for a .260 Rem barrel, since that bug bit me. One of these days...

WTF?!!?

Schools there since '93, short periods. Stationed there from '04~'07. Being stationed there is what made me toss retirement paperwork. Beautiful area, but too close to the Flag Pole. I hate headquarters-type asslickers. Too many of them there. Suckups and shiitheads. Moved back there (because of the area, and retired) from 2010~2013. I still love the area, and the base elevation of 4,600 feet. Javelina are plentiful there. The Huachuca Mountains are completely awesome. Love 'em.

We can go from mild to wild on this one. There are alot of good inexpensive triggers that will improve your rifle. There are a few expensive triggers that will really improve your rifle. If you're willing to sacrifice about $300, I can recommend the Geissele Hi-Speed line to you. Most of them these days come with the different springs that let you set it up as the Hi-Speed Match, Hi-Speed DMR, and Hi-Speed Service trigger - in the same package. It's one HELL of a great trigger for the AR platforms. There are other very, very good recommendations, as well, that come in lower in the price range. Just list your price range, and the recommendations will flow.

Let us know when you do, and pay attention to the Fall Shoot threads, which will usually pop up 6 months out. We'll do what we can to arrange it - this last one was a good one!!!

Your 10mm handloads are all red. I noticed that. You know, those ones that throw the brass back to 5 o'clock. 30 feet back...

The "Homepage" tab at the top should have redirected you there, but it doesn't. I think the link died during a forum upgrade. It used to take you there.

That looks like a big bruiser, Mike - very nice work!
