  1. I have another "Mother Nature" story about a skunk, and my paper route as a kid. It's not as bad as the deer, maybe worse than the beaver, but it was just bad... I don't think I've even told it here before. It didn't go well...
  2. I hooked him!!!
  3. Short AR-15 in 5.56, loaded with Barnes 5.56 70gr TSX round. Something with a (legal) 16" barrel. That round will drop a deer DRT, at that range. In it's tracks.
  4. DSG Arms has this spring in stock right now - they go out of stock fast., https://dsgarms.com/armea1095
  5. It's good. Matches that receiver extension. You only need the EA1095 spring, gen-u-wine Armalite part number.
  6. Keep the H3 buffer - as long as the buffer is 3.250" long. If it's shorter than that, it's another one of your issues with this gun.
  7. Shiit just got real, men. Brace yourselves...
  8. That's not the spring to use. Sounds like AR-15 carbine, at best, and it's not to that spec, either. Way off, from even AR-15 standards. Shiit spring, get rid of it. No joke. The Armalite EA1095 spring will be 34 coils, 13.75" relaxed length, and have a wire diameter of 0.072".
  9. Gas port diameter in the barrel is good, according to that info. that is not your issue. a 0.100"-ish gas port will fire almost anything through these ARs, big or small-frame.
  10. Navi, also need to know what the internal depth of your carbine receiver extension is... Internal depth. On an AR-15 carbine receiver extension, it is 7.000" internal depth. On the Armalite AR-10 Carbine Receiver Extension, the internal depth is 7 5/8". Only reason I ask is: shady vendors. Lots of places will advertise a carbine receiver extension, say it's "ARmalite AR-10" compatible, and - those people don't even realize there's a damn difference. When there really is. Measure your stuff, and let us know.
  11. I've spent my own time "dabbling" with Mother Nature, and gotten my as$ kicked. I'm just trying to warn you ahead of time...
  12. Those are two different springs, completely. Especially if you're running the AR-10 Carbine Receiver Extension, and the H3 (AR-15 standard, or AR-10) real buffer. The LR308 carbine buffer spring will not work with those two items. You must use the Armalite EA1095 spring with them. Please report back on that.
  13. I know her. I'm buying your logic there, brother. That IS IT... I'm just sayin'...
  14. For Armalite, it's the EA1095 spring. Both AR-10 Rifle and AR-10 Carbine. Same spring, same part number. It works. I've never seen rounds messed up like that, but your issue looks/sounds like a gas issue. Never seen gas do that to a round, though. Get a simple gas block that fits your barrel. No adjustable shiit. Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit. Start there. And measure your gas port diameter in the barrel. That's where we start, man. All your other parts are solid. You made no wrong choices in those. Use the Armalite spring that you have.
  15. Here's a good use for it, brother - maybe I'll get Shepp hooked on some NRE TV...
  16. That's pretty damn cool, brother. Through the 1.5 years I lived there, I didn't make it to that museum. Damnit.
  17. This still cracks me up, everytime I open a new gun magazine... Here's the example - new magazine, not 7 years old... Directly inside the cover is this 2-page ad from BCM - now, I love me some BCM products, but this has been around for a long time now. "KeyMod is here! KeyMod is the tactical industry's NEW modular standard!" Come on, guys... already...
  18. Probably the cost of the mounts. Keymod didn't go as widely badass as people (manufacturers) thought. Keymod attachments are kinda pricey. Looks up some of the few companies that make good keymod attachments, and check the price. They ain't cheap. Plus, as officially tested now, M-LOK is stronger... http://soldiersystems.net/2017/05/05/details-on-the-ussocom-sponsored-keymod-vs-m-lok-test-conducted-at-nswc-crane/
  19. I'm impressed enough with those two Hogue blades I got, so another one is on the way now. Y'all will get hands-on in a couple weeks... Here it comes... On the list in the future will probably be this one...
  20. PIssin' around with Mother Nature is dangerous business, brother. Just trust me on this...
  21. I practice daily, so I don't lose my edge... That was BADASS!...
