  1. It just hit me. I'm going to build another one of these .257 cal rifles. Ares SCR lower with the Monte Carlo stock, 16" barrel, lightweight as I can get for the rest of the parts on the upper. It clicked in my mind, so it has to be done. EDIT - Would be something along these lines right here- the full rifle pic isn't the MC stock, but that stock is the next pic down...
  2. One MILLION rounds per minute...
  3. The Armalite Part Number for the AR-10B mag catch is EA1108 - not the one you need, but it will certainly work better than an AR15 mag catch. You will need to call Armalite Customer Service to find the part number for the 10A catch.

    Fishing yesterday.

Looks like it was a great time - good work out there!!!
  5. What a hoot THAT was!!! Finished them all last night, and ready for tomorrow morning. For the first 5 or 6, I was using the bullet puller to stretch them back out to 2.260" OAL. I went a little too far on one of them, and said, "Damnit, I'm gonna have to put this one back in the seating die..." , and the light went on. I smacked the shiit out of the rest of them, over size, and ran them all through the seating die again - this time to the correct size... They're all 2.260" now, and I'm itching to get out there and get the targets set up.
  6. Gibbs! Has Arisen and returned!
  7. We just went through Easter - and I think another has arisen...
  8. Completely down with the Quarterly Visits. In the summer, it's so damn hot, we can only do night shoots... Bring the Pain.
  9. BWAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAA! He re-used it on me!!!
  10. So, I'm gettin' PRETTY ANTSY about shooting this thing Sunday morning, and checking all these loads... Out of boredom, I pull out the first inert round I made, that I set the seating die from. I measured it... WTF? I measured it again... Ah, shiit. I measured it AGAIN... Fuk me. It's 2.225"... I pull out the three extras I made of the lowest charge - they're the sacrificial first 3 out of the gun. Fuk. 2.225". I pull the first row of 5 out of the box. 2.225". SHORT. ALL OF THEM. Seated them short, and thought I was on. I fukced something up when I made the inert round, and locked down the seating die. Now, I'm going through them all, probably not tonight, and loading them in the smackin' hammer. The bullet puller. Stretching them back out to 2.260". Gonna be a long night tonight, and it probably won't finish until tomorrow...

    Lets see em boys!!

Mack, I see what you did there... Crafty Bastard...
  12. Gonna give me ANOTHER warning?...
  13. I'm gonna spam 92 threads now with 23 different ARs... Oh, I just ordered 2 more lowers...
  14. LOOOOOONG time ago. Something was on sale, someone here went to purchase it, and it was instantly out of stock. Out of the cheap seats comes Drew, saying... "That's Lesson 65b. You snooze, you lose..."
  15. Hit that thing with the lube, Jim!!! See if it behaves different. Add just a little, and see if you can keep it running - hit that piston and the "cylinder" for it. It might improve, at least for a few more rounds...
  16. That almost sound like sex...
  17. Shiit - he's LOCAL. I wanna get him out on a shoot with us, so I can actually see a PSA run, in person! Think of it like Rob, watching a guy shoot a CMMG that ran...

    Lets see em boys!!

    That is awesome!!!
  19. 1. Both/All UBR stocks have an integrated recever extension, so yes, it comes with the stock. 2.Any collapsible stock will, or can be made to, work on a 308AR. 3. "Any carbine-length receiver extension for an AR15" will thread into your lower receiver. However, at that very point, that you mount that part up, you need some shortened buffers. The Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension is the best way to go, because it's longer than the standard AR15 carbine receiver extension, AND it used regular old AR15 Carbine H3 buffers. 4. Mil-spec. Hands down. No need to run the Commercial when you have the choice. 5. No, that's just the copy of the DPMS-based parts, and the short buffer. I alluded to this before, in one of my earlier posts in this thread. Eventually, when the UBR2 hits the market, you KNOW you will change that backend out with the UBR2. Make it easy on yourself now. Standard AR15 carbine receiver extensions have an internal depth of 7". That forces you to use a short 308AR carbine buffer. The genuine Armalite AR-10 Carbine Receiver Extension has an internal depth of 7 5/8", which allows you to use the longer, Standard AR15 carbine bsuffer - in a 308 build, you use the H3-weighted heavy buffer. Use the Armalite EA1095 spring with this setup. You can purchase the necessary parts in one place, right online at DSG Arms. Once your new UBR2 arrives, your spring and buffer will drop right in and function like they're supposed to - in the UBR2.
  20. Can't blame you a bit.
  21. Yep, got it handled! I will have in my smuggled possession, one 9-round XDs magazine for you by this weekend, as well!
  22. I can't imagine living in a state where you have to do that, be it New York, Cali, or one of the other socialist states on the eastern seaboard... I feel for the people there...
  23. The writing is on the wall now, clear as day... In about 4 weeks, we're gonna see a BUNCH of new Shield owners asking fukkin' questions about why their 308 build doesn't work.
