  1. Very valid point. :happydrunks:
  2. Those 20-yo primers held their own! Something happened in the two groups above, though. Something else is different. You gained over 100fps, but nothing else is different in the load data... Those Nosler Match projos are beating the Hornady AMAX projos - same fps but a full grain lower in charge weight. You have to up the charge on the AMAX to gain the speed, but the ES and SD grow with the AMAX... Very interesting...
  3. I do what I can. :)) <thumbsup>
  4. There's no middle eastern country that's gonna drop the money on a damn Colt 7.62x39, when they can just have an AK variant for a metric $hit-ton cheaper. Think about it. They won't even be "taking a good look at it." Oh, GRA, go read the ITAR. It's a hot topic right now, so I thought you would have read up on it already, but it's obvious that you haven't.
  5. ^^^ Am I going to get in trouble for that post, when The King signs some new POS Executive Order into effect, and I find out I retroactively violated the ITAR?... :thefinger:
  6. Troy rear sight on my CASV. Perfect. From the rear of the CASV top rail, back to the center of the screw, it will have to be 0.300" or shorter. If it's longer than 0.300", it's not going to mount in the last (furthest back) pic rail slot on the upper receiver, and still clear the back of the CASV rail. You can cut approximately 0.250" off the back of the CASV rail, and make a longer sight fit, though.
  7. My Armalite Tech Note 68 link in the first post isn't working anymore. I've attached it, below, as a PDF document. Tech Notes_2015_Tech Note 68, Tuning the ArmaLite Tactical Two Stage Trigger.pdf
  8. Just do a google search on that trigger, and you find many, many stories on the failures of it. Like Stain said, spend a few more bucks on the Geissele G2S. If you REALLY want to spend the least amount of money possible on a quality 2-stage trigger, just get the Armalite 2-Stage National Match trigger. Armalite has two different 2-stage trigger, but only one National Match version - go for that one. I can vouch for it, I have one, and it's in the 16" 300BLK rifle. I'll never replace it or get rid of it. It's a damn good 2-stage trigger.

You guys better go get this DVD set, and watch it. I'm just sayin'. It'll set you back less than a 20-rd box of quality .308 Win.

Ed, I'll take two XL shirts in FDE when you get them done. Lemme know. <thumbsup>
  11. Barrel swap. Went with the Faxon 16" medium taper, midlength gas, 1:10 twist in .308 Win. Very, very nice barrel. <thumbsup>
  12. 16" .308 barrel came in today, Nathan - VERY IMPRESSIVE! I like it alot. Damn nice barrel, and fine work. I picked up your gas block, and grabbed the gas tube, too, just so everything would get here in the same box, and I wouldn't have to strip any parts off the other barrel. Did a quick check of the gas block - gas block perfectly centered over the barrel gas port, with the block against the barrel shoulder. Gas port diameter is 0.080", midlength gas system. Very nice work, Nathan, very nice. <thumbsup>
  13. Yep. You went East, the turned around and went West. Shoulda kept going East... <lmao>
  14. ^^^ On that note, I think Kawi is single-sourcing the whole upgrade, too. Kawi makes the bike (Concours), and one other company handles the cop-transformation.
  15. ^^^ I been trying for 10 years to get Ray to meet me in the dunes at T-Day... 10 YEARS.
  16. Coriolis effect got you...

For those that don't know - this was a 6-hour miniseries. It'll wipe out a whole day off, once you start watching it. Watching it reminded me of the Straight8 Photography work that was done for POF...
  18. Game on... <lmao>
  19. I prepped this package at work - i intentionally went to my Shipping & Receiving Guys, and told them to give up the stash of heavy paper... <lmao> I papered the hell out of this thing, and wasted ALOT of tape!!! That just makes it so much better when you're trying to get to it... :hethan:
  20. It was a factory rifle, in the past. Here's all the information on current Colt rifles - that'll tell you about it: http://www.colt.com/Catalog/Rifles.aspx
  21. Ah, got it. <thumbsup>
  22. Could be that - you can inspect for that, and see if it's the problem. Shoot 'til last round hold-open (1 round in the mag makes this a short exercise). Check how far up the bolt face the catch is holding. Snatch a pic of that and post it. <thumbsup>
  23. Don't get me wrong - you can more than double your money, with you in at $1400, on that deal. But you'll be parting stuff to make the money. The tools are a bonus. Part that CHiPs bike, and that'll pay for the pile. <lmao>
  24. Unseasonably strange, for this time of year. You should just be ending your "100-days-straight-of-rain" season about now... <lmao>
  25. Cut away on the whole pile, brother, unless the tools are worth more, or you like parting things out. *The Yamaha is a V4 cruiser, 1300. If it's got bottom end problems, you're looking at a crank and 4 conrods. Fucking nightmare. *The ZG1000 Concours wasn't really a good bike. There's still a few out there, but people aren't really looking for parts to restore those things. Drive it 'til it dies, dump it for another bike. You won't get much from parts. *1985 Vulcan 700 - you can't even find parts for it. Kawi discontinued most of the parts supply for that bike several years ago. *KZ550-F2 Limited - another turd from Kawi in the mid 80s. Cut away. Even with a new engine, you'd have more into labor in putting the new engine in, than the thing is worth. *1996 KZ1000 Police bike - these things have been trashed through the years. I work on them often - mostly from people that are into the Patriot Guard riders - they need to get these bikle back up to full-police certification in order to be an escort for the organization. I've seen dudes dump TONS of money into these things, just because they got them cheap, and they support a cause. Supporting the cause is noble as fuk, and I admire the hell out of that, but they should dump more money on more bike, instead of looking to get into it with a cheap bike - that costs them a ton. Anyway, my $0.02. <thumbsup> EDIT - i no-$hit had a KZ1000 Police bike in the shop last month... nightmare with wiring, with all the cop-wiring in it. I just had to make the damn turn signals work, and it cost the guy a small middle-eastern fortune.
