Not really a color that is natural in nature - and I don't plan on hiding amongst a field of crows, or Jersey cows, or black cats - that would be a "specialized mission..." <lmao>
Vegetation. Blend with your surroundings. Black weeds, black grass, black trees - not so common. If they are, they black-the-fornicate-out and get your camo on, for it.
This debate will rage for years. In the night, shadows are black - until you blast a SureFire HellFighter into that shadow, and expose all those bastards dressed in black, against their background - been done in Iraq.
Read this - we (military) spent TONS of money to come up with the crap-tastic ACUs. What they hit in that on the black, was dead-nuts on.

Last but not least - dress up in your black pajamas in the middle of the night, and think you're camouflaged because it's dark. Run around in your terrain, and tell me you think you're invisible when you get your ass blasted with this thing that's hooked to a crew-served .50 or Mk19.
That's 4500 lumens that projects to 1,600 meters - a mile.
Tell me how safe you feel at night in your black pajamas, but because it's dark out... and your in a dirt or green backdrop. The .50 will get ya... The Mk19 will get your neighborhood...
I haven't even started the night vision discussion part yet. Black fucking GLOWS in night vision. I know I've said this before. Run night vision long enough and you tend to understand it. Fuk Black...
