  1. It's too late already. You've done it to yourself, and it was before this thread.
  2. Stock shows up today. Called Timney - didn't know they were right here in the city. They're assembling my 517 trigger, setting it for 2.5lbs, and it'll be ready for pickup anytime after 12pm today... Sweet!!!
  3. YEEEESSSSS!!! Trick question! Now we know he's got money!... <thumbsup> <laughs>
  4. You get to keep the upper that's in your hands right now?
  5. That's a DAMN GOOD START, brother! NICE!
  6. No pliers at all - just went with the roll pin punch of the appropriate size. The coil pin is tapered somewhat on the ends, and the pilot hole on the gasblock, even after drilling, has a little taper - it went in easy. Roll pin punch, smack it with a hammer, done. Dirk, I'll do another one with the drill - - I just need another build first. Short 300BLK is probably the next one on the build list, so I'll put this gasblock on that one when the time comes. It wasn't that bad, really. <thumbsup>
  7. Gibbs, you just talked alot of $hit, and completely avoided what I said. Please address this: Also, WTF happened to your chickens? You can shoot a coyote at 335 yards, but a coyote wiped out your chicken coop? If you were killing coyotes at 335 yards, how the hell did they work up the nerve to almost get in your house? I think you're a fraud. I think your target group pics are bull$hit.
  8. There's a pretty good forum out there, too, and I'm positive that guys there have used the UMAR - Olympic Arms Owner's Association: http://www.oa2.org/Forum/
  9. We may not be able to help you get sub-MOA, but we'll damn sure help you spend your money. That's a GIVEN in the equation... <lmao>
  10. Oh, SNAP!!! I forgot about that!!! He's killing coyotes at 335 yards in the back yard!!! Now, if he's doing that, then how the hell did all his chickens get hit by a coyote? This is off his own webpage!!! <lmao> http://scottieluvr.com/galeria_de_jenewein/MyHouse/slides/House_092010_05M.html In case that pic disappears from his webpage... I have the fullsize version saved.
  11. PINNED! Okay, where do we start here?... Been shooting this rifle for awhile, built it and blasted it, ripped it down for paint, rebuilt it and blasted it... and got back to finishing the gas block tonight. Get your rifle ready to pin. You'll be drilling a barrel. All I had to do on this one was get the FFHG off. Here's what we need to work on - the Geissele Super Gas Block has the pilot hole ready for you - you just gotta drill that thing out with a 3/16" drill bit, and cut that barrel straight through. Gawd Dayum, this thing is SEXY!!! :yup: Geissele instructions: One interesting thing they say - you cannot do this with a handheld drill - gotta use a drill press or something similar, but a handheld drill isn't gonna work. We're about to test that theory, right now... DONE!!! The key is to go slow, use lube, and just work your way all the way through. Baby steps. All we have left is to beat the piss out of the coil pin and call it done... This right here is the easiest pinned gas block I've ever done. I will never use anything else on other rifles that are 16" barrels. Pinned 14.5 barrels are another story. This gasblock is the goods. <thumbsup>
  12. Gibbs, I like how you went back and edited your first post - so others that read this in the future won't think you're an idiot. Too late, man. I just find this very hard to believe - even being new to the AR platform - based on the target pics you post. You HAVE to know what you're doing in order to pull the groups that you post pictures of. Now, on that note, I don't think you pull the groups you say you do. Post a vid of you shooting that $hit, walk to the target, and zoom your a$s in on it. I think you're a complete fraud. Calling you on that right now. Let's see what you do. Maybe you'll disappear, like you said you would earlier. Show me your groups that you claim, and show the real distance that they're shot at - vid doesn't lie.
  13. Oh, that's just the beginning, Adam. Just the beginning. Wait until you show up at a shoot with us...
  14. BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!! <lmao> <laughs> I had NOT heard his name before, and wasn't interested in one of Gibbs' "friends." However, I just looked this up, and I'm busting a gut over here... :sign10: :sign10: http://www.anthonyhereld.com/buyer-beware-ken-rockwell/ Gibbs, I don't even know what to think of you... :yup:
  15. PInning it today, after a house inspection at 3pm. Once I get those idiots out of here, I'll break it down and get it done. Pics will be posted.
  16. Don't have a preference reallty, but I don't hesitate in using the set-screw gas blocks. I just stake the screws. I guess I do have a preference now - only used this one time, but I'll be using them for everything in the future - Geissele Super Gas Block. http://geissele.com/super-gas-block.html More details of it in this thread:
  17. That dude got his a$s kicked by Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob and Scrat!!! <lmao>
  18. Hey, bro - you posted those same ones 3 weeks ago... <lmao>
  19. ^^^ <lmao>
  20. You are well aware of what you've done here, right?... I hope you already have this thing on order... <lmao>
  21. I know. I get it, brother. This guy is just under my skin like that thing under your thumbnail... WAIT! WHAAAAAAT?!!? <laughs> That's an ALIEN growing under there, you know that, right?... I'm not going to the range with you again until that thing comes out. If it gets out when I'm around, I'm gonna blast it. I'm just sayin'... :hunter:
  22. ..aaaaaaand DENN!!! I didn't strip it. I left it as-is. It's still white, and it's not any more shiny that the other stuff. That she wanted shiny. <lmao> I wanted it flat white, but she did NOT want it flat white. Change ratio away from flat white, mix, shoot, bake. She smiles, I'm done. Well, minus that 300BLK EOTech, anyway...
  23. Didn't get trolled, brother - just getting tired of this guy's bull$hit... Wish he'd keep his word, and his last post was really 3 posts ago, like he said. He made that on #61, but he's still here...
  24. Went back and looked at it - it's fine. Shib's pics had me paranoid!!! <dontknow> <laughs>
  25. Pastor, research the Olympic Arms UMAR. You need this rifle to accomplish your goal. We, here, know nothing about that rifle, and none of us here have that. Don't ask us questions about it - it will do you zero good, in search of information on it. I'm just sayin'... Now, with that information, the UMAR was designed to be able to shoot the 22-250. The rifle itself is between the AR15 and 308AR - they made it that way, to shoot the 22-250. Sounds like that's what you need for your wildass wildcat round. Keep in mind, you CAN NOT ORDER A RIFLE FROM OLYMPIC ARMS. You don't live in Washington State, so they won't sell to you. Your only choice is to order it, or get it, from an Oly Dealer. Now, once you get this rifle, and it's mags, you can begin the heinous quest of finding a reputable AR Gunsmith that will custom-chamber a barrel for you, maybe machine a new bolt for you if that's necessary, etc. Good luck. Here's the link - surf away: http://www.olyarms.com/shop/umar.html
