Cali_Ed
The spring just eliminates, or cuts down on, noise. The adjustable gas block cuts the recoil. You adjust the gas down to just what it takes to cycle the rifle. Recoil isn't gonna get any lighter than that, right there. More than that, and it doesn't cycle.so if I can care less about how much a spring makes noise or not I don't notice it in my 308 the adjustable gas ok would be the way to go with a slash buffer maybe? 98Z5V
now that i tried listening for it its fucking annoying Good thing you weren't in the military - you'da been pissed off everytime you had to shoot your rifle. My mentality on the "sproing," and the people that can't stand it: It's a very gay thing to worry about. Once you DON'T hear the "sproing," you know your fucking mag is empty, and your bolt just locked back... Change magazines. Matt.Cross
"Sproing" is tolerable because it comes behind "bang", "click" is what bothers me.
Cali_Ed
If I was in the military id have more pressing things to worry about then the spring sound lol.
AngelDeVille
Buying a bolt action gets rid of the "sproing" Barring that I'm using the stock Armalite rifle buffer, and a Seekins adjustable block.

blue109
I honestly love that noise. it's what a M16 is suppose to sound like. you should hear the "sproing" in the turret of an Abrams. 120mm sproing is erection inducing.
crimsonfalcon07
Maybe more of a concern if you're shooting suppressed? I like the JP SCS, but I can definitely see how many would consider it a solution looking for a problem.
unforgiven
Spend a day at the range without ear-pro and the "sproing" will go away.Just saying.
