Eastcoastlaxin Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 After finally getting to assemble my 308, I noticed micro scratches in the finish of the matte ss barrell. They are from the barrel wrench and gas block. As careful as I was, there should be no reason for these marks. Never had a matte ss barrell before. Is there a way to remove them or is this something I'm going to have to live with? Any help greatly appreciated...
Magwa Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 It is a rifle consider it breaking in if it is not scratched up it is not being used enough.... :)
Robocop1051 Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 Steel wool? +1 A 000 steel wool rub down should suffice... or a longer handguard.
blue109 Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 I always make sure to knock new AR builds off the bench on the first range trip. gotta get those first scratches out of the way so you can stop worrying about them.

Rsquared Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 A rub down should suffice... Isn't this the answer to everything in life?
