DNP Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 You'll be kicking ass at 800 meters in no time! Nice work.
Cali_Ed Posted March 1, 2015 Author Report Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys, the more I shoot the more I can catch my errors before I pull the trigger. I feel I can do better with a shorter bipod. Oh yeah this was off a bipod not bag I'll have to measure some of these and see what they come out to Edited March 1, 2015 by Cali_Ed
Cali_Ed Posted March 1, 2015 Author Report Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) So I got some measurements. For the 178amax with 39.9 I got .689 and with flyer I got 1.099 For the 175 match with 42Gn I got .775 and with flyer .829 For 175 with 42.5 iI got .916 /1.382 For 175 with 44gn I got .693 /1.029 How does that translate to moa? Is there a formula? I know 1 moa= 1.047 Am I supposed to subtract the bullet diameter like 308 from the measurement? Edited March 1, 2015 by Cali_Ed
98Z5V Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Plug it into this: http://www.ontargetshooting.com/ Flyers count, by the way. You've got one per group, and that's just how you're shooting. Edited March 1, 2015 by 98Z5V
Cali_Ed Posted March 1, 2015 Author Report Posted March 1, 2015 I know I show both measurements with flyer and with out
planeflyer21 Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 The 39.9gr and 44gr loads are looking good...great shooting Ed!
Cali_Ed Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 Thanks guys, So I downloaded that program and it wouldn't let me save the images to anything I could open on my computer (.tgx <--- what opens that kind of file?) Ok so here's the verdict on those pics I posted info of sorry for the crappy cell pics
.308LiteHunter Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Looks like you figured it out. Refresh me on your barrel length. 1-10 twist?
Cali_Ed Posted April 26, 2015 Author Report Posted April 26, 2015 Here are some targets from today, about 65° and 15 - 17mph winds. All with 178amax and some diffent powder
unforgiven Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 Nice shooting brother.I am a fan of shoot and see targets.Still in the fifties here.
Cali_Ed Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 I tried shooting 300 yards today and it was so damn windy I had a lousy day. Goes to show how much I still need to learn. I even stapled a ribbon to the bottom of the wooden target holder to help gauge the wind. Either it was super windy at the target ir it was super windy where I was set up. Super frustrating
98Z5V Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Be pretty weird to have a major wind change between 0~300, man. Read up on wind corrections. <thumbsup> I hope my PROFESSIONAL Canadian Gunsmiter Friend sees this - he probably has all the answers. Edited April 27, 2015 by 98Z5V
sketch Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Fook Canada that's some damn Fine shootin at 300 yds Ed!
Cali_Ed Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 I wish brother sketch those were loads I tested at 100. Maybe I was having other issues then? There was mirage like crazy and for the first time ever I had a double tap on my rifle that's why on the bottom left picture there are only three rounds
Cali_Ed Posted May 29, 2015 Author Report Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Here's a picture of two targets I shot with my glock 17 with dawson/warren sights at 15 yards. Landed 22 of 24 shots Ecen though my previous target was at 7 yards with diffent sights would this new grouping be worse or does it open up that much more at 15 yards compare to 7 Edited May 29, 2015 by Cali_Ed
sketch Posted May 29, 2015 Report Posted May 29, 2015 I'd say yes even at seven yds you need a steady hand, but hell at 15 yds with new sights not bad Ed !
Cali_Ed Posted May 30, 2015 Author Report Posted May 30, 2015 I'll have to practice more for my match next weekend. If my trigger didn't have so much creep in that Initial shot it would be nice
