Front Takedown Pin Removal

Paper clip.  Push the end of the paper clip through the hole in the front of the pivot pin - use the paper clip to depress the detent far enough to turn the body of the pivot pin.  Once it's turned, cover the end (because that damn detent will FLY!!!) and pull the pin out slowly.  Voila.  Finished.

I put on an old pair of boots to do some yard work last weekend

and found a buffer detent inside one of them. I tore my workshop apart looking for that stupid thing last year. drove me insane. local shop didnt have any in the parts box so I ordered 5 of them with springs so I always have spares.

I have an extra buffer detent spring because it landed next to my foot after it launched the buffer detent.  Bought some extra everything-that-flies parts after that.  Yuk!  At the time I was not aware that everyone has done that at least once, it seems.  Still feels dumb.
