That would have been much more informative if both wounds would have been to exact, identical places.  One hit bone, the other was a pass through, and based solely on these 2 cases....yes getting hit EXACTLY  like this with these two  calibers makes one choose the x39, not the .556, if being shot at.

Good information,  but not overly conclusive to me.....

I'll continue to put more stock in accuracy and rapid follow up than any ballistic numbers or wound studies, hate to trouble my pretty little head with all that math ;-)

Any bullet in the right spot will be a stopper, two is even better.......how many documented cases are there where a person got to choose what to be shot with???????????

Having taken well over 100 big game animals in my life I have shot them with all sorts of calibers from 22 to 450 the common denominato  to success is a bullet placed in the vitals in other words the central nervous system once disrupted it is game over a lung shot is deadly no matter the size of the hole... and almost any animal is out of commision from being shot. it is true some bullets do more damage with speed while others make a bigger hole  but dead is dead.

Sure are a lot of dead people shot with a 7.62x39 out there to prove it does the job . I remember when the Evil Black Rifle first came out & what some on the wrong end of them  said about it .
