BamaB0wM@n
Need help. Is there a suppressor that will fit on/over/with a stock DPMS Oracle.308 flash suppressor ? if not. Can I have some recommendation of a set up that works? I am not an expert on this matter. Thanks for any and all help.

Rsquared
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe that any 7.62 suppressors are designed to fit onto standard flash hiders. At least not that I know of. And I don't, in any way, claim to be an expert. Though I have stayed at a holiday inn once or twice. Most of them have their own specific mounts for QD attachment, or you can pull the flash hider and just thread some of them on. Myself, I use AAC setups....mainly because I became a fan of their equipment years ago (before I started buying my own). Others here are fans of AAC also, but there are many different manufactures that make some pretty nice cans. If you do decide to go with a suppressed 308 AR (any of the different platforms), you'll definitely want to check into getting an adjustable gas block. These larger 308's produce a considerable more amount of back pressure than the smaller 5.56 AR's. A couple of examples just for eye candy. Armalite AR-10 SASS with an AAC 762-SD Armalite AR-10 SBR with an AAC SDN6. Armalite AR-10 A4 carbine. This was isn't showing it with the can, but you can see the AAC muzzle brake on it. jtallen83
I've been researching this a bunch lately and didn't run across any silencers that mounted to a standard flash hider. I ended up going the AAC SDN-6 route. Several here had nothing but praise for AAC products and I noticed they had great specs for the price. They also have better prices on the needed extras like muzzle devices. I've been picking up new take-offs for 7.62 and 5.56 at $50-$60 on ebay for the last couple months, paid $80 for the 51T brake. Damn, that's some good pricing on the brake JT. When you say take-offs, I take it you mean the 51T flashider, and not the comp? Me personally, I love their comp. I've probably got them on at least 4 or 5 different rifles. More eye candy just because. It's a $hitty picture (yeah yeah, I know). But an Armalite AR-10 A2 carbine (my first AR-10) using the AAC brake. It also has the JP enterprise FSB adjustable block.
jtallen83
Yep, somebody in Illinois was selling the 51T flash hiders as "take offs". They looked new with no signs of ever being installed, came in the package with the tube of rockset. My LGS sells them for $90, the brakes for $110. Looking like SLR will be getting a bunch of my money next for adjustable gas blocks. then I think I may need one of those Geissele alignment rods for peace of mind. This silencer addiction is a pricy one!

NTXshooter
There are a lot of good suppressors out there. AAC being one of the best. I went with the YHM Phantom Titanium QD. I really like it.
COBrien
I've recently been looking at Sig's new line of suppressors with their new QD setup. Specifically the SRD762-QD -- http://sigsilencers.com/products/rifles/srd762-qd/ They make a couple of different QD devices, including a FH and 2 different "compensators." Looks like an interesting system...
jtallen83
I got to handle one of those Sig cans, very lightweight construction. The QD seemed to work well but the LGS commented that it tightens itself up, takes much more effort to remove it than what is used to put it on . He cranked it tight the first time and needed a strap wrench to get it off.
sketch
I have the above can and it does snug down but will remove easier when hot! The comp is very effective. mrmackc
Any of you use Loctite 620 on a FH?
Rsquared
Nope. I use Rocksett on all muzzle devices.

Yup, heat is used to release Loctite so it's not a good choice for a muzzle device. Rocksett is a ceramic and is not affected by heat.
