planeflyer21
Wow. People flipping out because of other people doing what they do for generations upon generations: https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/norway-preschool-children-sees-reindeer-slaughtered-farm-125433399.html Honestly, who they hell are they to determine what's okay for kids to see, while their own kids munch away on a Mickey D's Happy Meal? blue109
I'm betting 90% of the outrage comments are from Americans
beantown
I swear we are the only country where harvesting what we eat is taboo. Do they really think machines do all of this behind closed doors. Come down here and follow a chicken through it's life cycle. They'd never eat a chicken McNugget again. The rank hypocrisy of it all is what gets me. "They" want to complain to me about the sins of corporate pig farming polluting land, water, and air, while eating yummy frozen Trader Joe's Pot Stickers. I've been watching a few "off-grid" channels on Youtube. One committed couple that moved from a big city life documented the slaughtering of their first chickens. They did it. You could tell she shattered some barriers though.
beantown
I can only imagine the comments on you tube about the videos. Oh the horror.

I believe they censor their page but I know where you're coming from. It certainly is entertaining reading the comments on videos covering things such as coyote hunting. AnOldBiker
At the age these kids are "watched" this, I was on my grandfathers farm "helping him do it". If not, there were empty plates on the dinner table that night. It's a shame they are so pampered in their lives they don't know reality. I believe people like this need to spend a month on a farm and if they don't want this to happen, so be it, but their daily meals depend on it. And I can't believe what they can buy now ... meals that only need to be preheated and served ? Soon it will be a crime if you prepare the meals below a set politically correct standards. DNP
Why can't you just get your meat at the grocery store...like "normal" people.

Magwa
I watched my first hog slaughtered at 6 years old they shot it in the back of a pickup then bledd it then dipped it in boiling water all us kids were gived a tin can lid folded in half and told to scrape the hair off the hog when it was all smooth they cut it up and at the end they gave each kid who worked on it a portion of the meat I was one proud little kid that I got to take some meat back to my house and give it to my Mother....... People are loosing their way they have lost contact with the real world and have become lost in greed and power hunger... it is sad that the little ones do not grow up knowing what the real world is all about and no one to teach them...... Sisco
Until you hunt and catch your own food, you don't really know and value the meaning of life. Something has to die, so that others can live. That is the way of nature. To deny this is to deny the natural order of things.
EngrBob
Still remember my grand aunt breaking the neck of the turkey on Thanksgiving before taking off the feathers to cook it.
