So Canada Taps Strategic Stockpile Of Maple Syrup Amid Shortage. Canada’s Quebec Maple Syrup Producers (QMSP) announced it was releasing around 50 million pounds of maple syrup from its strategic reserves, which amounts to about half of its stockpile

Who knew we had a maple syrup stock pile let alone 100 million pounds 😲 well 50 now.

Also in 2012, a Canadian man organized a heist of $18.7 million worth of syrup. The man, Richard Vallières, was fined $9.4 million and sentenced in 2017 to eight years in prison, plus an additional six years if he fails to pay the fine. How does one fence that much maple syrup?

Wife just picked up one of these, 32 ounces of this Canadian goodness at Sam's. It isn't the richest maple syrup I've ever had but I don't recall ever seeing it this cheap.

Beware of maple flavored syrup vs actual maple syrup.

It's hard to improve on bacon but a suggestion... next time you're frying up bacon, drizzle maple syrup on the bacon strips a couple minuets before you pull the bacon out of the pan.

Cultural trivia-  what is sold as Canadian bacon in the USA is called back bacon here in Canada.
