planeflyer21
Alright you AR gurus, what's true and what isn't? I know that some of the Plum Crazy builders had some issues. Now there appears to be a plethora ("Sí El Jefé...a plethora!") of polymer AR15-style lowers available...New Frontier, ATI Omni, FMK Patriot. Are any worth your money? Any would wouldn't take if someone gave it to you? What are your personal experiences with them? Jon
blue109
read lots of stuff on them. looks like the new frontier have nice finish. the omni are rough but functional. id build a cheap shooter with one if it was the only lower available. before the stupid started I was getting forged lowers for $65 so no reason to use plastic. Stupid prices are the only reason I'm looking at them now. And their prices are 2 or 3 times what they were before stupid started. Microgunner
The sooner we quit buying the sooner the prices will begin to drop. The liberals haven't recalled the law of supply and demand, only enhanced it.
planeflyer21
Quit buying?! Dang...I just started on the little ones a couple of months before CT crap. This is only the beginning. Jon

Dane Armory
Jon, I will let you shoot a bunch of Plum Crazy lowers on different guns the next time we go shooting. 22lr , 223 , 6.8spc , there is nothing wrong with these. Like them or hate them it doesn't matter , they work and if not abused they will last. Cav lowers are the best but he lost his FFL by being scammed by Dept of Justice (Fast and Furious) They can be purchased by a company in Ok. blue109
didn't someone take over for cav? I just saw them for sale somewhere.
98Z5V
Yes, there is a new company running them, and putting them out again.
Dane Armory
NO... Cavalry Arms is still in busines but they sell accessaries/med kits. They sold their rights and do not produce the lowers anymore.
98Z5V
Someone else is pushing them, brother - recently, too. Rainier has them in stock, right now. These are the new ones: http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=3402#arpartsfinder.com Edited March 26, 2013 by 98Z5V

98Z5V
Forgot to mention this - they still make the lowers so they'll take an unmodified Grease Gun mag (Cav Arms made them that way, the new guys are, too).
EasyEJL
I may end up using one of those for my 300 blck whenever I get around to it. sort of rather have a carbine stock, but real issue will be it being as little $$ as possible for the project
unforgiven
Nice just wish it had a winter guard. But damn nice lower. That would change my mind about metal.Just sayin.

Lighter mod with Bic. I'm thinking those may be worth a try...adding up all those parts that this one assembly replaces, it may not be too bad. jrtMA
Those new lowers by Cav are very nice and fairly reasonable for what is included. If I weren't commited to my MAG Tactical lower, I would consider buying one. Ha..might still buy one.
Dane Armory
Jon did you look at the light weight ar15 in 223 I brought, it had magpul sights a flashlight and cheap Halo optic built on a Plum Crazy lower with an Aero upper and a light weight 16 inch barrel. Jon No lighters!!!! modern polymers and flame don't work well together, trust me, I work with plastics. Use a heat gun instead.
jrtMA
I keep coming back to this product. I agree from the past comment about it needing a winter trigger guard but it's a great lower plus stock combo. It's growing on me.
